Kabanata 17 : Witness

Shiro 

When night came, after we finished our dinner, she offered herself to wash the dishes and, since I am the one who cooked our food, I let her. I went to my closet, got a pair of pajamas and entered the bathroom silently. Hindi ako sanay matulog nang hindi naliligo o naghinilamos manlang, at sa mga ilang araw na nakalipas at palagi ko pang nakakalimutan ito. 

If my mother was here, she would probably scold me for not cleaning myself every night.  I paused for a second and closed my eyes. I missed my mother.

Kumuha ako ng shampoo at siniguradong masasabunan ang buong buhok ko. Numinipis ito kapag nababasa at sumasaboy naman kapag tuyo ang kulot kong buhok. I kinda miss my mother. Siya kasi ang nagsusuklay sa buhok ko para matuyo bago ako matulog. Pero dahil wala si mama dito, ako na lang ang gumagawa sa sarili ko.  Although I kinda used to it, I still long for my mother’s touch.
