ROSANNE

Aria rushed into the room her eyes wide in panic, “Mommy!”

“I’m sorry Alpha Rosanne I tried to stop her,” Megan said, panting as she leaned against the wall.

I chuckled slightly, moving closer to my little girl as I picked her up, “You know you aren’t meant to stress Megan,” I chastised.

“I’m sorry Mommy, but I really need to talk to you,” she mumbled.

I smiled at her cuteness, her ‘R’s sounding like ‘W’s

“Excuse me,” I said to the elders, leading her out of the room.

“Aria, you know that you aren’t meant to distract Mommy when she is in a meeting,”

I would have scolded her further, but something in her eyes caught my attention. She looked scared like she had been spooked by something, her eyes shining bright red.

“You can go, Megan, I will bring her,” I said.

I knew the signs, when her eyes shone like this, it meant that she was unto something. She was that intuitive.

“The lady,” she whispered.

“What lady?” I asked.

“The one that is helping in the meeting,”

“What is wrong wit

MIKHAILThe arena felt charged, voices echoing through the air. In symphony they all dropped to their knees, heads bowed, but not out of fear.It was a sign of respect. My eyes looked around my people, the ones that I had sworn to protect. The bond had become fragile, almost destroyed by greed and betrayal.I could feel the longing from their wolves, begging to hear the words that would strengthen their heart. The war was over. And now, what they needed was unity.Something to believe and hold onto.I stepped forward, “We stand as a family,” I started, my voice steady but charged, as my eyes scanned around the arena’s ground.“Risen from the shackles of betrayal and pain. But that hasn’t changed who we are. Because our fight has shown just how strong we are,”The murmurs turned into loud cheers. The Lycan King had returned, and just like the prophecy had said, he would bring unity back to the werewolf clan.Howls echoed through the arena’s ground, voices joining as one to declare thei

AUTHOR’S POVThe dark moon pack stood still. The interim Alpha; Xavier Lenovo had asked them to all gather in the arena.Hushed whispers echoed around the air, each man wondering why they had been summoned. For two years they had lived in fear. The rebellion had been a quiet attack, claiming the life of the Lycan King. And now, on his throne Sat Xavier, the youngest of the brothers. But today— today was different, Xavier sat on a makeshift throne, rather than on Mikhail’s usual throne. From the side gate of the courtyard, warriors walked out, leading with them the fair lady Irene Kings, the woman who had betrayed the kingdom. They booed, throwing sand and everything they could lay their hands on.Xavier watched with interest in his eyes, smiling as the crowd yelled profanities at Irene.“What is going on? Are you planning to execute her?” elder Mason asked, looking around the arena with worry in his eyes.“It will be revealed in due time, Xavier revealed, his eyes fixed on the courtya

MIKHAILThe sky above the moon claw pack was gloomy. The air thickened with the stench of death and blood. From a distance, I felt eyes, the same feeling I usually had whenever her eyes were on my body. But when I turned, my eyes searching around, I saw nothing, nothing but darkness surrounding us.It felt the same as how I had discovered the massacre in Maverick’s camp.“What the hell…”The words died down in Landon’s throat.Bodies littered around the grounds, leftover decorations of a war that had happened. It felt like déjà vu. The same way we had stormed the rogue camp but only to find bodies, far too gone to tell what had happened.“Someone was here before us,” Hudson muttered, jumping down from the horse as he touched the blood on the ground. “It’s warm, whatever must have happened here wasn’t that far off,”Landon followed suit, sword in hand as he looked around the surrounding, “It wasn’t a forced entry,” he said, pointing to the gate.“Kgor had let them in,”My heart dropped

ROSANNEI looked around us, bodies decorated around the room, a true testament of what had happened here.Tonight, we had made history.“Alpha Kgor,” I whispered in a broken tone, looking at the man who sat on the throne dead. His crime? It had been loving a monster for a son.“How did you know that we would be here?” I asked Blair. She smiled, “Intuition, Roman had come to your camp to meet with you and I knew that it would only be a matter of time before you attacked,”“My camp?”“Rosanne, I have been keeping track of you for so long. I needed to know that the Luna and the future heirs were safe,” she said, smiling softly at me.If she knew about the camp, then Mikhail knew too.Why did he let me rule? Was this a game to him? To see just how far I would go before I crumbled. My eyes hardened, rage filling my mind at the thought.“No,” she said in a calm tone.I frowned, looking at her with a confused look on my face.“Before you think any further, Mikhail has no idea about your camp

ROSANNEI dropped to the ground, my hand pressed on his chest as I willed myself to bring him back.I had done it before, I can do it again.“You have to get up,” I hissed, my fist slamming against his chest, trying to get his heart beating again. The wind blew, and the pungent smell of decay filled the room. She was back, the witch. From the corner, I noticed Blair, her eyes shut like she had slumped. No!She couldn’t win, not again.“You need help?” she asked, her tone condescending as she moved into the room.Axel moved, but I held him back.“I warned you the last time,” she said, snapping her hand.Axel dropped to the ground, his hand clutching his throat, his breathing in short whizzing pants.“Say goodbye Rosanne,” she cooed, her eyes black as she stared at Axel.“Enough!” I yelled. The words came out with a force, knocking her against the stone pillar. Her hold on Axel had been released. She blinked, looking at me with a shocked expression on her face, “How?”The air felt tight

ROSANNERoman lunged. But I didn’t wait, I charged forward, the clash of our swords echoing through the room. Sounds of growls had filled the room.Ryan stood strong, fighting through the warriors as he tried to get to the door.Roman threw his sword, aiming for my chest, but I was faster, blocking his attack as my sword clanked hard against his, silver sparks flying around us.He was fast— his attacks with precision and swiftness that it was getting almost very hard to keep up. Roman was a beast, a man who had spent years practising his acts of war.Where I lacked I speed, I made it up in strength. Axel would soon break through those doors and all I needed now was to make sure that I wearied him off.“You know, I liked you,” he said, circling me as he moved with anger in his eyes. “I was willing to make you my Luna, something that your mate had no intentions of ever giving you,”I roared, tackling him to the ground, my body slamming hard against his. I winced, feeling his fist knock
