34. Confessions

I stood outside the forest with my handbag clinging to my arms. It was almost dark. A chilly wind blew and a shiver ran down my body. The moment I have been waiting for. It's here.

"Are you sure I should leave? I can wait here, you know, till you check it out. What if he is not here?" Shane peered from inside the car. I turned around and looked at him. He actually looked concerned. I shook my head.

"I'm sure he's here. You can leave."

"Okay, but if you need anything or don't find anyone just give me a call I'll be here."

I nodded at him gratefully. He waited for a moment or two before turning on the engine. As he left I stood there preparing myself for the much-awaited moment. Taking a deep breath I entered the forest.
