Being a daughter of a politician is not an easy life to live with. You should always be one of the best. Be best in everything. Of course, you should be. Because…

All eyes are on you… waiting you to make a great mistake to ruin your father's name and dignity.

Like a snake to its prey… just waiting a right timing to bite you and kill you with its poison or worst eats you –whole!

Bodyguards are all around you… to watch you… protect you… save you… and will never harm you.

Iyon ang buong akala ko.

They are hired to do all those jobs for you –for your safety. But everything changed… my beliefs, opinions about life… and my dreams.

Because of what happened, when I was 5 years old. I was kidnapped by my own trusted bodyguard. It was a month of full torture, pain, and emotional breakdown.

Iyon ang punto ng kabataan ko na imbis mag-isip kung bakit araw ang tawag sa araw, buwan sa buwan, bituin sa bituin… sa kung sino ba dapat ang pagkatiwalaan ko, or are they trustworthy or not.

Hindi ko alam kung paano ako nakaalis sa mala-impyernong kulungan na iyon, kung paano ako naka-survive, at kung paano pa ako nanatiling buhay despite of wanting just to die in an instant than living a life, full of miseries.

Nagising na lang ako isang umaga, nasa pink na kwarto ko na ulit ako –na puno ng manika, laruan, rainbows and unicorns, fairytales... a total wonderland that you always dreamed to have as a clueless innocent child.

Pero dahil sa pangyayaring iyon, everything changed. I suddenly hated everything that is pink, sinira ko ang mga manika at laruang meron ako, pinagtatanggal ko ang ulo, kamay, paa ng mga ito. I even cutted their beautiful blonde hairs and dresses, ayoko na ring manood ng mga pambatang palabas.

I hated watching fairytales.

Because in reality, the world is not magical at all but full of cruelty and torture.

That's why instead of dolls… I became fascinated in holding and playing guns, a toy that can protect you and save you.

Power and money are the most important things. Kung wala ka ng dalawang ito, hindi ka makaka-survive, you will die just like that, without fighting and a helping hand. Iyong malulunod ka na lang sa sarili mong dugo.

But then, a year of living like a human vegetable, iyong nakatulala ka lang, mulat ka nga pero ayaw mong gumalaw. You are breathing normally but deep inside you are actually suffocated and dying.

I met Freda Ysabel Wilford; maganda, mabait, madaldal pero maldita. Isa sa kambal na anak ni Ninong Frederik at Ninang Leysa, an heiress like me –she changed my life. Hindi man niya naibalik ang dating ako, nabigyan niya naman ako ng bagong dahilan para mabuhay.

Araw-araw ka ba naman niyang daldalan ng kung ano-anong words of wisdom daw niya, na kesyo huwag ka raw magsayang ng pagkain dahil pasalamat ka nga may nakakain ka, ang iba wala.

Pero ang pinakatumatak sa akin na sinabi niya ay…

“Buti ka nga nabigyan ng pangalawang pagkakataon kahit sa anong klaseng bagay pa iyan, basta nakatanggap ka ng second chance… ‘cause not everyone who wants it, will have it. Kaya ang swerte mo pa rin, to experience a second chance in life. Choice mo na lang iyon kung gagamitin mo siya in a positive way or not –live it or kill that chance given to you. But still be thankful, nevertheless.”

That's why I chose to live my life again… the way I want it to be.

No fear… caution… limit… nor rules.
