Chapter Four

ROCHELLE

It was finally weekend. I didn't have to go to school and face thousands of judgemental eyes.

After the triplets' rejection, I figured I might as well drop out. There was no survival for me at Silverstone.

But I couldn't tell my mom, not yet at least. Today was a really special day for her.

Her fiance was coming over with his family for dinner and we had to make sure to leave a good impression.

“Roch, could you get me some groceries down the street? We've run out of sugar, ketchup and mayonnaise,” my mother asked.

“Sure,” I smiled and her gaze lingered on me a little longer than necessary.

“Are you okay?” She asked worriedly. “Your eyes look swollen.”

I remained as calm as possible because I didn't want her catching on. “You literally woke me up by 6am on a Saturday morning to clean up the house. Of course my eyes would be swollen.”

It was an easy lie with a mix of the truth which made it easily believable. I took her card and headed down the streets to the nearest store.

I was scanning through the shelves, searching for the ingredients my mom needed, when I heard a couple of girls.

“That's her, isn't it?”

“The one that was trying to seduce the Alpha? Yup! Definitely her.”

My grip on the ketchup bottle tightened but I willed myself to ignore them and move on but just as I took a step, they appeared in front of me. Worse, they were all members of the cheer squad, Sophia's clique. I turned around quickly, hoping to avoid drawing attention to myself.

"Hey, Slutchelle!" One of the them called and the others laughed. My pace quickened.

“She’s looking for her next livestream,” another voice hissed. I gripped the handle of the cart tightly.

"Where do you think you're going?" a girl suddenly appeared in front of me, aimed her phone at my face. “Say cheese, babe. The school's favorite pornstar deserves her own gallery.”

I shoved past her, but then she tripped me. I hit one of the aisles, metal slamming into my ribs.

They laughed heartily. “Fuck this is going to blow up.”

Thankfully only a few items fell to the floor and none of them were bottles. They giggled and walked away, leaving me to face the reprimanding stares of the salespersons.

I got off the floor with a sigh and arranged everything that fell before picking the last item I needed. I paid out the counter and scurried out of the store quickly because I couldn't stand the eyes on me.

On getting home, I immediately put on my fake smile and helped my mother with everything she needed.

Time flew faster than expected and it was finally dinner. I helped her set the table with the assorted dishes as well as pick out her most beautiful dress.

By 7pm, the doorbell rang.

“I'll get that,” she said, barely able to contain her excitement as she rushed to the door. I chuckled, momentarily forgetting my problems. It's been so long I saw her like this.

“Pierce!” I heard her squeal. “It's so good to see you! Welcome.”

“Hey, baby,” a deep masculine voice rumbled. “Did you miss me?”

I hurriedly set the last plate down and hurried to the living to see this man who made my mother fall head over heels.

I immediately sensed the intense Alpha auras as I stepped into the room. From where I stood, I could already see him twirling my mother in a hug.

I giggled and stepped forward only for the smile to immediately fade from my face.

Stepping in one after the other were three familiar faces I never thought I'd see so soon. My heart slowed as my breath caught my throat.

I blinked rapidly, refusing to believe it. I hoped it was an imagination. That my brain was just playing pranks on me. But even after shutting my eyes and reopening them, they were still there.

The Triplet Alphas.

“Baby, these are my sons, the ones I told you about,” Alpha Pierce didn't waste time in introducing them, but their gazes were locked on me.

I couldn't move from the spot where I stood.

“Rochelle,” my mother gestured at me. “Come over here!”

Snapping out of my daze, I walked over to her with a pounding heart for introductions.

“Pierce, this is my daughter Rachelle,” she introduced. “Roch, this is my fiance, Alpha Pierce of Moon Crest pack.”

“I know. You wouldn't shut up about him,” I smiled and stepped forward. “It's a pleasure to meet you, Alpha.”

“The pleasure is mine,” he gave a breathtaking smile. “You bear a striking resemblance with your mother.”

“Oh, thank you,” I blushed at the compliment.

“These are my sons,” he turned to the boys, whose expressions remained blank. “Evander, Aidan and Ryker.”

“It's a pleasure to meet you,” My mom smiled and their expressions cracked into smiles that made my heart stop.

I never thought they were capable of such a gesture. They took turns in kissing her hand.

“Pleasure to meet, Miss Grace. We have heard so much about you,” Aidan said.

Then their gazes flickered to me and my lips parted slowly.

Ryker, the redhead, stepped forward and took my hand, a smirk tugging at the corner of his lips.

“I believe we've already met, little sister.”

Heat creeped up my cheeks as shame slowly engulfed me.

CHAPTER FORTY The ClaimRochelleRyker’s mouth crashed against mine, hard and demanding. His hands gripped my waist like though he was staking ownership, with his fingers digging in just enough to make me gasp against his lips. He tasted like smoke and anger and something darker I couldn’t name. My hands flew to his chest, pushing weakly at first, and then harder, but he only pulled me closer, growling low in his throat.“You’re ours now, princess,” he said against my mouth, his voice was rough. “No one touches what belongs to us. Especially not him.”Darren scrambled backward on the concrete, with his eyes wide, and still coughing from Ryker’s earlier grip. He looked small against the rooftop wall, with his bruises darkening under the afternoon sun.Evander stepped forward, his voice was low but sharp. “Ryker. Stop. Look at her.”Ryker pulled back just enough to meet my eyes as tears streaked down my cheeks. My breathing came in short, and broken bursts. He stared for a long second, w

CHAPTER 39 The Rooftop EdgeRochelle The school parking lot looked wrong again the next morning. There were no black SUVs. No sleek sports cars and still no sign of the triplets. I stood at the gate longer than I should have, scanning every row, hoping and dreading at the same time. They never missed school. Never. Where were they? Were they avoiding me on purpose? Or had something happened after Aidan left me at home that night? The thought made my hands shake as I pulled my bag higher on my shoulder and walked inside.Classes passed in a blur. I barely heard the teachers as my mind kept drifting back to yesterday—the empty halls, Darren and Sophia fighting in the courtyard, and his cold stare when our eyes met. I kept expecting the triplets to appear around every corner, but they didn’t. By the time the last bell rang, the worry had turned into something sharper and I knew I needed answers. I needed to know why they were gone.I climbed the stairs to the rooftop without thinking too

CHAPTER 38 The Long Walk HomeRochelle The courtyard got empty slowly after Sophia had stormed off, leaving only the echo of her heels and the faint murmur of students drifting toward the gates. Darren’s retreating back disappeared around the corner of the building. The way he had looked at me with no smirk, but just that stare. It unsettled me. My mind spun with questions. Was the breakup real? Had Aidan’s beating finally broken something in him? Or was this another layer of the same old game—pretending to cut ties with her so I would feel safe, only to pull the rug out again? The thought alone made my stomach twist. I stood there longer than I should have, with my bag strap digging into my shoulder, trying to make sense of it. Eventually the restlessness pushed me forward and my legs moved toward the bus area without much thought. The triplets hadn’t appeared all day. There sleek black cars in the lot. No tall figures leaning against walls or watching from shadows. No Ryker with th

CHAPTER 37 The Quiet AfterRochelleI woke up with the sheets twisted around my legs and my heart already racing before I even opened my eyes. The room was too bright. My body felt heavy, and bruised in places I didn’t want to name. My lips still tingled from last night and my throat ached when I swallowed. Every time I closed my eyes I saw Ryker’s hand in my hair, Evander’s mouth between my legs, and Aidan’s cold stare when he told me I would be fine. I wanted to stay under the covers forever. I wanted to disappear as school felt impossible and facing anyone felt impossible. But staying home would mean explaining, and I wasn’t ready to explain anything. The memories kept crashing over me like waves I couldn’t escape—Ryker’s groan, Evander’s hands on my hips, and the way my body had betrayed me with heat even as terror choked me. I curled tighter, with my fists clenched, while trying to push it down, but it wouldn’t go. Why had I gone with them? Why hadn’t I said no sooner? Why did

CHAPTER 36 The PullAiden I watched the taillights of the car disappear down the driveway until the red glow swallowed itself in the dark. My chest felt as though someone had wrapped iron bands around it and kept tightening. I stood there longer than I should have, with my boots rooted to the stone path, listening to the engine fade until only the night sounds remained—crickets, distant traffic, and the low hum of my own pulse in my ears.I turned back toward the house. The front door still hung open, spilling warm light onto the driveway like spilled blood. I stepped inside, closing it behind me with more force than necessary. All of it mixed together in a way that made my stomach twist. I pushed open the door to Ryker’s room without knocking. The frame was splintered where my fist had gone through. The fabric was ripped open down the front, barely covering anything. My arms shook so badly I could hardly hold it closed. Tears kept coming, hot and fast, blurring everything. My panties were still tangled around one ankle. I tried to pull them up but my fingers wouldn’t cooperate.Aidan stood in the shattered doorway, with his chest heaving, and eyes still glowing with that unnatural gold. He didn’t look at me—not really. His gaze swept the room once, landing on Ryker and Evander sprawled on the floor.Ryker was propped against the bench, with one hand pressed to his ribs, and blood trickling from the corner of his mouth. His bare chest rose and fell in sharp bursts. Evander lay flat on his back, with one arm thrown over his eyes, breathing shallow like the impact had knocked the air out of him completely. Both looked stunned, bodies bruis
