Run and Keep Running

Byuar!

Amidst the raging fires, the girl leaped off the boat and plunged into the open sea. Fortunately, she had a life vest that aided her in diving for a brief period.

Yet, how long could she continue like this?

"Ha... Ah... Ha...."

Breathing became a struggle, yet she persisted, plunging deeper into the sea, desperately searching for land.

Regrettably, her strength waned, and she was unable to keep swimming for an extended time. Mercifully, the sea guided her to the shore – a distant coast far from the harbor and the northern lands; it was Pack Redmoon, the island of werewolves.

Erlyn was unconscious as her body washed ashore, looking disheveled and worn. Wet hair and a drenched head collided with the sandy beach, a desolate stretch without a single soul in sight.

"Uhk... Uhk... Uhk...."

Seawater gushed from her mouth, and this time, she gradually regained consciousness. Her eyes fluttered open, her surroundings unfamiliar. All she could recall was that her escape had resulted in the loss of numerous lives.

Exhausted and dizzy, the late afternoon sun cast long shadows, and her stamina remained diminished. Yet, tough as she was, Erlyn forced herself to rise despite her weakened state.

"Where am I?" she muttered to herself, breaths still uneven as she staggered away from the deserted shore. "Is this already the human world?"

Bare feet struggled to propel her forward. She pressed on, occasionally glancing back at the distant blaze of flames, hovering ominously above the sea. At the sight, Erlyn swallowed hard, contemplating whether to return.

Meanwhile, in the Northern territory, home to Pack Redmoon where werewolves isolated themselves from mortal humans, a man in a flowing robe stepped out of his luxurious car, overseeing the devastation of his own people.

"There shall be no survivors, my lord," the beta whispered by his side.

Mothers, fathers, wives, and children's cries echoed through the harbor. Five ships had set sail, and now all five were ablaze.

"Dispatch rescue teams," Dantley replied, prompting the beta to frown and question.

"Why, my lord? It's a challenging terrain to reach due to..."

"They are my people. Send the rescue teams. Also, continue the search for that blue-eyed girl!" Dantley calmly reentered his luxury car, sitting in silence before instructing the driver, "Back to the castle."

"Yes, sir."

The cries gradually subsided as the Beta commanded his troops, "Deploy the rescue teams, salvage what we can!"

Helicopters and auxiliary vessels swiftly responded. The tall, lanky man visibly appeared displeased with his leader, yet Dantley remained the alpha figure. Although Pack Redmoon was presently in turmoil due to a runaway girl, Dantley's authority held sway.

Meanwhile, the girl, her gait unsteady, strove to survive and forge a new path in the human world.

Bang!

"Aaaa!"

"Where do you think you're going? Like a ship sinking!"

The man, his gait equally unsteady, attempted to pursue Erlyn, though his shooting skills left much to be desired.

Bang!

"Behave yourself! Come here, pretty girl!"

Erlyn fought to escape, her legs heavy and refusing to cooperate.

Bang!

"Aaaa!"

A scream escaped her lips, despite being unharmed. The man persisted, his gun aimed until finally, the last bullet was expended.

"Damn it! Why did it have to run out now, of all times!"

The man was visibly irritated, yet he mustered his strength to continue chasing after the girl, who was on the verge of losing her wolf power due to her dwindling stamina. As for the scruffy man attempting to shoot her, he also seemed to lack stamina.

"Come on, Erlyn, come on!" He pushed his legs further until he reached a large forest. Instead of heading towards the road on the other side, Erlyn entered the vast forest.

"Run, little girl, run."

Once inside the forest, Erlyn attempted to hide among the trees, but she couldn't climb up.

"Aaaaa!"

Erlyn screamed as she was caught and ambushed by the scruffy-faced man.

"You are indeed very tempting! Don't let the Master reach you before I taste your beauty!"

"Don't!"

Erlyn struggled to resist. The man's hands tightened around her neck, pinning her against a tree trunk.

"My body can relish your form, and my wolf tongue can tear out your heart!"

"Aaaaa! You, bitch!"

Erlyn bit off the hand choking her, kicked the man, then turned and ran as best she could.

"You won't escape from me!"

The girl continued to run, the pain in her leg forgotten amidst her fear.

"Help! Anyone, help!" She shouted, her voice growing fainter.

"Oh, here you are, little girl."

The scruffy man once again seized her, attempting to bring Erlyn down.

"Don't come any closer!" Erlyn threatened, despite her current weakness.

"Or what, huh?"

"You're going to die!"

"Why would I die?"

"The Alpha will kill you if he finds out what you did to me!" Her eyes glazed over, and her lips trembled.

"Hahahaha, kill me? Where is he now? Is he here? Oops... He's far on the other side!"

The man effortlessly dropped Erlyn and restrained her defiant body on the ground.

"You know, I haven't found my mate yet, but now maybe I know who my mate is!"

He tried to tear Erlyn's dress, but unfortunately, it had been magically enchanted to protect the Alpha. No one could remove or even penetrate it.

"Why is this?"

Erlyn, lying on her back, looked astonished.

"Aaaaa!"

"You scoundrel!"

Seizing the opportunity, she kicked the man in front of her.

And one more thing, only the person wearing the magic cloth could remove it from their own body.

Erlyn no longer wanted to flee; she wanted to finish the scoundrel before he left.

"You can't touch me, let alone defile me!"

"Hahahaha, defile? Hasn't the Alpha already done that to you? If a wolf girl has been tainted by someone forcing her, it's quite evident!"

"Mind your language!"

"Or are you going to do me in? Ha!"

At this point, Erlyn had her back against the wall. She felt scared and tried to appear intimidating, but her beauty outweighed her attempt at fierceness.

"What if we make a deal?"

"Get out of here!"

"Hahahaha, don't be so fierce!"

Bang!

The man advanced towards Erlyn, but before he could ambush the beautiful girl, a bullet pierced through his head.
