I disagree. I think the chapter set up maybe Dylan wishing to hold an election instead. I think it was an important one.

This entire chapter was a reiteration in alternate paragraphing of the previous chapter. Now I agree with many of your readers who have quit your novel that you have lost integrity- you just want to milk the reader for all you can get , doing the minimum work- not even proper editing.
