My heart was almost leaving my body as I slammed the car door shut, taking long strides to the hospital with Mason and Ryan trailing behind me

I could feel sweat prickling from every part of my body. My jaw clenched with every step I took forward until I was right in front of the receptionist

"I'm...here," I paused, taking a deep breath. "I'm here for a patient, she got admitted here last night," I said softly

"Name of the patient sir?" She asked

"Cherry Donovan,"

"Just a second," she said, her hand dancing across her keyboard. She paused and stared back at me. "Who...are you to her sir?"

"Husband," I said, bringing out my driver's license so she could see my name on it. I don't have time for all of this.

She stared right at it and nodded, her eyes returning to her laptop before staring back at me. "The second hallway by your left, room 45D," She said and I was already making my way toward the direction before she could complete her statement
