Chapter – 40

The fall never came.

Because the old bat, she called father caught her before she touched the ground. “You thought you could take me down?” His feet touched the ground.

She crashed into the snow again, but didn’t respond. What the hell was wrong with her? She stared at her hands. Her claws had disappeared. A frown marred her features. Oh, Gaia! What sick game is this?

She staggered to her feet and turned to stare at her father. He paced the ground like a predator. His eyes stalking her every move. She spat blood and stared him dead in the eye. Time to drop the act.

Reyna let her shoulders slump and let the tears fall. “No matter what I do, you won’t accept me.” She shook her head.

The monster in front of her halted in its track. He blinked tilting his head.

“It was always Killian,” she wheezed, brushing away the blood from her face. Her tears mixed with blood. She ignored the slight burn caused by her busted lip. “In your eye
