RYAN
I yawned, stretching tiredly as I glared around the room. Checking the time, I screamed. Damn! I was already late for class.
Biology is the first class of the day and I wouldn't want to miss it for any reason. Since it had the highest Grade Point, I was going to take the course very seriously.
I picked my phone from where I had left it. I was going to message Sarah, but I felt it might be too early to say hello.
However, I went ahead. Whenever she sees my message, she'd probably text back.
Me: How was your night?
Sarah: Was fine what about yours?
I was surprised at how fast she had replied to my text, like she's been waiting for me to message her. Or she knew I'd be sending her a text.
Me: Great. Any good news today?
Sarah: Yeah. I'm on my way for my interview. We'll talk later in the day. Have a nice day.
Me: Yeah. Have a nice day.
I was over excited for her sake. Finally she's got her dream job and I can't wait to hear how fair her interview went.
I rushed, dressing up for school. Thankfully I didn't catch up with the traffic. Just as I reached the school compound, Tom was just arriving.
"You're late." He said, tapping my shoulder.
"We both are."
Peter who had come earlier than we did rushed towards us as soon as we walked into the school building. He was looking like a chased rat as he kept breathing heavily.
"What's wrong?" I asked.
"We've got a new teacher." I arched my brows, not like I cared. The last time a new teacher walked into the school, I remember how they really praised her so much.
Well, it turns out that she wasn't even close to beauty.
"There's always a new teacher all the time. Come on, we're late for class." That was how we died off the topic, at least that's what I thought.
The entire student had been talking about this new teacher, and I couldn't help but wonder what could be so special about her that got both boys and girls talking.
"We have a new biology teacher!" A student announced as she rushed into the classroom.
A new biology teacher?
This could have been Sarah. If only I knew my school was in need of a biology teacher, I would have told her about it and we could always get in touch with each other.
"She's with the headmaster." Another said after checking the door.
I wouldn't say I wasn't eager to see who this pretty lady was, of course, I was. And I wanted to know if she was more perfect than Sarah.
Just as the headmaster walked in, I looked over him to see what the lady looked like. But to my greatest shock… the so-called new biology teacher was what?
SARAH?
I found every means to hide my face from her. Yeah, I told her I was a college student, but here I am sitting my ass on a final year seat of highschool.
How am I going to explain that?
"Good morning everyone." The headmaster greeted,
"Good morning Mr Evans." They chorused.
"Well, I believe we all heard the incident about Mrs Theresa, and for the meantime she won't be available to handle biology classes. So, here is Miss Morgan and from today, she will be your new biology teacher." He announced.
"Hello, everyone." She waved a soft smile as she glared at everyone.
"Hello, Miss Morgan."
"Thank you for accepting me. Uhm… I learned we have biology right now, so the rules are simple. Pay attention, ask questions when necessary and we're good to go. But before we start our class, is there anyone who wishes to ask me a question?"
All hands were raised.
She laughed. "Well, I'll be answering just one question in the meantime." She points at a girl in the front row.
"Why are you so cute?" She asked.
Her mouth opened in bewilderment as she wasn't expecting the question. No one was either.
She turned to look at Mr Evans a who shrugged with a smile.
She returned her gaze to the girl who was desperate to hear her reply. "Well, I think that's a question for the creator."
"Thanks, Miss Morgan."
"I'll leave you to continue."
She nodded. He left.
"So," she started, meaning business. "Where did your previous teacher stop?" She asked. She was paying more attention to the front row which made her not have noticed me.
"Since we aren't familiar with each other, I'd love it when my student introduces themselves before answering a question." She smiled.
"So, where did you stop with Mrs. Theresa?" She repeated.
I raised my hand high, drawing her attention to myself. "Yes, pl–"
She looked shocked to see me, and the sudden stop she made in her words, I could tell she wasn't expecting to see me. But she composed herself to avoid suspicion.
"Yes please, go ahead and tell us your name."
"My name is Ryan."
"Okay. So Ryan, do you have an idea of where Mrs Theresa stopped in your last class?"
"Climate change."
"Thank you, Ryan. You can have your seat now." I could see from the smile on her face that she looked shocked to see me.
She made an effort not to look my direction when she turns to ask questions or explain a context. Time wasn't with us, the bell rang and everyone stood up to leave.
She packed her stuff, walking out of the class without acknowledging me.
I let her walk a few meters ahead before I followed behind so no one would suspect. Reaching her office, I offered a knock on the door.
"Come in."
I walked in, and again…the look on her face wasn't encouraging.
"What are you doing here?" I asked, expressing how surprised I really am.
"I was going to ask you the same question."
RYAN“They are here to speak with you,” My father said with a tone that made it quite obvious that he’d heard as well.“Speak to me?” I asked.“I have to get to school, I've got no time for any of this,” I said glaring at them, and headed for the door but then was cut off midway when he had me pushed back to the couch.“Sit your ass down,” My father growled.“What's the meaning of this?” I yelled.“Listen here kid,” One of the men in uniform said with a smile creased on his face as he stood right in front of me.“I’d advise you to comply with us, to make things easy for us all,” He said.“What's going on?” I questioned, trying to stay composed knowing fully well that they all knew about my and Sarah's affair.I glanced over at my dad to find him glaring at me, his eyes raged with so much terror like he was ready to pounce on me and probably beat the living daylight out of me.“We just have a few questions for you kid,” Another policeman said smiling at me.“About your teacher,” He add
RYAN HitFucking useless Get a fucking life HitBe a manI stood by the bathroom sink punching hard into the wall letting my father's words to me in the past fuel each punch as I pummelled the wall.Every snap of my fist against the hard concrete was like a reminder that I deserved every punishment I was getting mentally and physically, emotionally.“What are you doing man?” Tom yelled running into the bathroom as he grabbed me by the shoulders shoving me off to the side.“Stop!” Logan added holding me against the wall.“Let me go,” I screamed trying to wrench free from their grip but then Tom had me wrapped around his arms trying to stop me from pushing further me hurting myself.“Get off me, you both tricked me into going over there!!” I yelled as I kicked Tom off to the side and then I moved away from him.“Don’t blame me, your father made me do it,” Logan grumbled staring at me.“Whatever fuck off!!” I yelled and then I stormed out of the restroom and headed for my locker and j
SARAH“You're just in time honey,” Robyn said with a smile creased on his face as I pulled away softly from the hug smiling nervously at him. Praying silently in my head that his son likes me.But then the familiar smell of lavender from someone in the room wafted over me as I took in the view of a figure that stood afar off.“Ryan?” I questioned myself the very minute I tilted my head toward the young man in front of us.He was wearing his usual ensemble of black trench coats whenever he had to be out with the boys. But here he was, right in front of me.“Am I seeing things?” I thought to myself blinking rapidly and hoping the figure I saw right in front of me would somehow find its way out of my head.My heart raced when our eyes met as the smile I had a while ago before entering reverted to an embarrassed nibble of my lip when I realized the look on his face.He blinked, looking away from me for a split second and then back at me, yet a pained expression passed his eyes and then it
RYAN“Are you sure you don't want to try and get her number man?” Tom teased as he gestured to the waitress who walked past us.“I mean, she keeps looking over here,” He shot a smirk over his shoulders and chugged his drink.“Quit playing around man,” I yelled as I grabbed my drink in one hand watching her as well. Not that I was interested in her anyway though but then her nice curves caught my attention, still I had to take my mind off that.“Is that a yes?” Tom said with a smile creased on his face, I shot him a glare looking away from her.“I said enough man!!” I tried to keep the edge out of my voice but he was grinding on my last nerve as he seemed determined to hook me up with the waitress.“Okay chill, relax!” He responded as his laughter erupted in the air right after he gave me a pat on the shoulders.“I'm chill,” I said through clenched teeth, staring at him.“Well, I think that's great,” Tom nodded approvingly and took a sip of his drink, staring out into the road.Silence
SARAH“Why the hell did you do that?” I yelled frustratingly running my finger through my scalp as I stared into my reflection in the mirror in front of me.I had been too nervous to step out of my apartment and had to send a lying text to Robyn.“Fuck!!” I grumbled.“I can't do this, I really can't,” I continued heading for my bedroom and just when I got out, I crashed into my bed with my head buried into my thighs.“It's all happening too fast,” I yelled, grabbing the strands of my hair as I grumbled. And just then, my phone buzzed repeatedly by my bedside shelf, and just when I had it checked, I realized Ryan had multiple worried texts sent, alongside a few missed calls.“I'm on my way to your apartment now!!” His text read.“Shit!” I exclaimed as I sprung up to my feet, and headed downstairs. Knowing fully well that Robyn would be on his way here as well, probably wondering why I had turned down his dinner offer at his place. But I just couldn't stand, letting things run so fast a
RYAN“Just a quick reminder, that I'm your father,” My father responded.“I say whether or not you leave the house!” He added.Fresh terror stabbed at me, realizing all of what was about to happen was surely going to hold me back from gaining access to Sarah before she headed out.“You can't keep doing this!” I groaned frustratingly as I slowly rolled my hand into a fist and then turned to face him. “I can because I'm your father and it's my house,” My father yelled back, taking a closer step toward him.“Your house?” I asked aggressively, staring back at him with a look of disgust.“A house you barely even come home to?” I continued.“A house you don't and never cared about from the very beginning?” I added glaring at him.“Now explain to me, how your opinion in such premises matters, go on, I'm all ears,” I grimaced, with my hands crossed over my chest. But then he smiled and then had his hands shoved into the side pockets of his pants, making the hot rage I felt having him near me
RYAN“Can we talk?” I texted from underneath a desk, smiling at my phone, anxiously waiting for her reply. And just then, my phone buzzed repeatedly. I had her text open almost immediately, smiling to myself but then the very minute I had her text opened, I realized she was angry at me.“You are not supposed to be texting me in here and you know it,” Her text read.“I just want us to talk,” I texted back and in seconds her text popped right back on my screen.“Fine, my office now!!” She texted back.“Yes!!” I exclaimed excitedly knowing we were about to have our little couple moment in her office and I just couldn’t wait to see the look in her eyes when I tell how hard it’s been taking a nap without her next to me. Excluding the part where I had gotten into a fight with my Dad.“No daddy talks today,” I added and then perked up to my feet headed for her office.“Where are you going man?” Logan called out to me but then I ran ahead ignoring his banters about me missing out on the pictu
SARAHThere I was in my office, wondering how on earth I was to spend the rest of my day locked In here. And was mad at the fact that of all days to be picture day it had to be today.A vein frowned in my temple when the sound of a knock on my door caused a distraction cutting me off from my little battle in the head over nothing.“Come in!!” I yelled hoping to see whoever it was.And just then, Kathryn walked in with a smile creased on her face holding on to a pile of notebooks and a mug that said I love Mum.“I love mum?” I spelled out with my brows creased in confusion as I watched her walk in.“Do you have a problem with that?” She teased and then giggled afterward with her eyes locked on mine.“None that I can remember,” I responded.“Better,” She said and then settled in the chair right in front of me. I released a small breath and smiled at Kathryn whose eyebrows popped the very minute our eyes met.Anxiety buzzed beneath my skin like a swarm of bees pricking the pores on my sk
RYAN“Yo wake up!!” Logan’s voice cut through the void in my head as I jolted awake.“It's so fucking early,” I grumbled as I shoved my face further into the pillow in front of me.“Get your ass up man!!” He yelled, shoving me off to the side. I rolled on to the floor trying to get away from him next to me but then he grabbed me by the foot pulling me over to his end.“The weekend’s over man!!” Logan continued.“We have to be in school in the next two hours,” He yelled. The large red, glaring numbers on the alarm clock next to his bed read 6:15 a.m.“Why do I have to be in school, man?!” I said as I perked up to my feet watching him pace and back forth in his bedroom trying to prepare. Apparently, there I was feeling so unbothered over having to be in school.“I've got nothing to wear man, and besides I have got bruises, remember?!!” I yelled.“You can fit into my clothes, dumbass!!” Logan responded.“Ewwww,” I exclaimed with a look of disgust staring at his closet.“It's picture day
