Ridley practically jumped out of the car just as I parked it. Hurriedly, I unbuckled my seatbelt, grabbed my purse and followed him. I tried my best to keep up with him, but he was speed-walking into the hospital and bumping into people without acknowledging them. "Sorry. I kept opening the offers from multiple hotels, switching from one email to another and reading through their offers and requirements. I was honestly at my wits' end with which one to go with. Three weeks had gone by since I quit my job. The days seemed to drag on, meshing into one with nothing to keep me busy. I spent most of my days indoors, but would venture out into the world when the boredom got to me. Other than that, I was scrolling on my phone or sprawled out on the couch watching another old sitcom. Despite being bored out of my mind, I was glad for my time off, I actually needed it more than I thought. I did not have to worry about meeting any deadlines, completing reports, reporting to superiors or meeting my ex-husband in the elevators of the Stetson building. I did miss working with Lisa as well as driving to work with Ridley and seeing him. I did not like only seeing him at the end of the day, tired and drained from the day's work. Sometimes I got to see him before he left in the morning, but usually I was so fast asleep that I would not hear him getting ready and would wake up after he had already left.
