Sold In Disguise

From a distance, I saw her sitting on the pew close to the waterfall. I stood for a while to watch her and I sensed that she was sobbing with her head faced down.

“What do you want?” came her growling voice.

“Why did you walk out on my father!?” I roared.

“None of your business!” She spat with irritation.

I watched her silently and made to sit beside her.

“Get out! I want to be alone!” She barked with authority.

A mafia’s daughter indeed. I ignored her and sat down anyway.

“Now, at least…tell me why you were crying,” I asked casually.

“What do you care?!” She spat, turning her face away from me.

Care? I don’t entirely care. And maybe I’m being intrusive right now but I'd like to satisfy my curiosity… Was she forced into this shit or is it something else? With that thought, I reached out my hands to touch her chin but she gripped my wrist and in a matter of seconds she twisted it back.
