I knocked on the door of a very remote location before I took three steps back before I heard the door open.

“Jamie I…” The woman whose image was so distant in my head was clear and healthy while standing before me as I gave a soft smile.

“Hello mother.” I greeted as tension started to build within her.

“Lydia.” Larissa said as her breathing became harsh.

Larissa was just as I remembered. Chestnut hair braided into a ponytail, brown eyes so warm they invited anyone who had lost their light, their hope in themselves.
