LOGINI looked down at the paper in my hand, the rooms were on the third story.
Once again I made my way through the hall and in front of my arch nemesis, the stairs. I looked around searching for an elevator but there were only stairs. I stared down in disbelief.
It's the 21st century, why were there no lifts? I groaned internally and I began to pull my luggage down the stairs. I groaned as I pulled and pulled. I took a break after the first flight of stairs and began to draw in breath. A group of girls passed me by and they giggled, I cussed them out in my head and as they went down one of them tripped and I held in my laughter.I made my way down and walked towards the third story building, pulling my luggage with me. I heard the cawing of a bird and looked up to find somee crows flying above me. It was already evening and the sun had gone down, with the skies turning darker.
Soon I arrived at the third story which was also orange but in a brighter shade and mixed with cream colour. I walked into the building and here I found many students, did I just see someone smoking in the halls?
The place was loud and rowdy, I heard a scream and a guy ran holding a towel in hand and another scream was heard, a guy an after him using his hands to block his front, oh my he was nude!
I immediately diverted my eyes and made my way through. I could feel the stares and only hoped no one walked up to me, or tried to bully me.
I kept my head low, my hair hiding my face and walked forward. I looked down at my sheet again and founf the stairs I was supposed to take. I cussed under my breathe and began pulling myself and luggage up the stairs.
I began to pull my bags again and I stopped midway at the second flight. The stairs were too much.
I groaned and leaned against the wall. Was I going to have to climb these stairs everyday?
I didn't need to workout then. I heard a fowl whistle and I looked up to find a group of boys walking towards me, the last thing I needed. “What do we have here?” The guy in front asked walking up to me. “Fresh fruit, just ripe enough for the picking” he smiled and I forced myself to look up at him, about to bash him with my pent up frustration. But as I saw his face, I swallowed my tongue, what in the name of Salvador... he was handsome.I watch his eyes trail up and down my body as he came to stand infront of me and I had to strain my neck to look up at him.
Yeah I'll admit he was handsome, but I could already tell he was bad news. “H..hi I'm Avery” I rushed to say and slapped my palm over my lips, I hadn't meant to speak. He laughed at my confusion “Just a little compulsion darling” he raised his hand to me and I stared confused by his statement. I'm Cillian, sweetheart” he smiled at me, stretching out his pale white veiny hand, and realised it would be rude to ignore. “Avery” I said as I shook his hand and his lips curled into a small smirk. I had never seen someone as handsome as him. I swallowed and tried to pull back but he held my hand firmly and took a long whiff of the air. “Very fresh and untouched” he bit his lower lip and let go of my hand. “See you around Avery” he waved as he and his friends walked away. I watched in confusion and noticed my heart was racing, I tore my eyes away and continued pulling my luggage. You would think he was a gentleman and would help a damsel in distress, none of the boys that had passed me had helped Once I had reached the third floor, I cheered myself up and began searching for my room number, 74. I walked down the aisle avoiding eye contact with anyone, did I just see people with their tongues inside each other's mouth, in the middle of a walkway? I arrived in front of room 74, there was a large metal in front and I raised it using it to knock. I heard a sound and then a girl opened it, she eyed me. “Who the f**k are you?” She asked, her eyes were ice grey and piercing. “Your new roommate?” I asked and she stared at me again. Are you being serious?” She asked and I nodded before she groaned. “Phoebe, number three is here” she groaned and opened the door wide so I could come in. “Number 3? She's a jinx” The girl from inside said before I came into view. There were three single beds, two were already claimed and one was empty. There was a girl on one of the beds. She was in her panties and a bra and was straightening her brown hair. She dropped the hair straightener and turned to me. “What's your name number three?” She asked. “I'm Avery” I replied. “I'm Phoebe, that's Daphne” she pointed at the girl that had opened the door for me, who was currently on headphones shaking her head to whatever music was playing. “I'm surprised they allow phones,” I said with furrowed brows. “Well they don't, she has an ipod I think” she shrugged and I nodded. “It'll be dinner time soon, you might want to freshen up” she said as she returned to her task. I nodded and took a look around the room. There was one empty wardrobe and the side where my bed was, was basically free so I began to arrange my things.Once I was done, I wrapped my towel around myself, wanting to head to the bathroom.
“Um…where's the bathroom?” I asked shyly, I was still a little awkward around people. “Come I'll take you,” Daphne said and I turned to face her, she had taken down her headphones and she stared at me and I watched her eyes in amazement, she was dark skinned with ice like grey eyes. “You're staring” she commented “Sorry” I quickly apologised and followed her out of the room. There were only a few people roaming the corridors, mainly girls. “Do the girls and boys stay on the same floor?” I asked, still looking around. “The girls stay towards the right and the boys to the left, same floor” she replied as we kept walking. We soon arrived in front of an open door and we walked in, there were various shower stalls and different girls there. “Suit yourself” “Thanks” I said with a small smile. “Yeah yeah whatever, hurry up dinner starts at seven” she reminded before walking away. I examined the showers trying to decide which one to pick when I noticed two girls at a basin glancing at me and saying something. I ignored them and entered the third stall, it was relatively large. I hung my towel and turned on the shower, as the water hit my skin I hissed. It was cold. I hurriedly took my bath, I didn't want to be late for dinner on my first day. “Hi, I couldn't help but notice you're new” A girl said and I screamed. She was hanging on the door and poked her head inside. “Calm down, I'm a girl too” she rolled her eyes and smiled at me. “W.what do you want?” I asked and she smiled biting her lower lips. “So what are you?” She ignored my previous question. “I….I'm Avery” I replied confused at her question and she laughed, it almost sounded like a cackle. “I'm Jenna, see you around Avery” she cackled again before jumping down. That wasn't weird, I tried to convince myself and rinsed the last bit of soap off my body before grabbing my towel.I successfully made it to the second floor, the sun had already gone down and the evening breeze was cool. I stared down the hallway, a feeling of ptsd hitting me. But I knew I had to move, I already had classes here this morning, how hard could it be?I heard the clicking of a door and I froze, the hair on my skin standing.I see Mr Alister walk through the door of our classroom and he's heading straight for me. A few students are passing by, but most have retired to their rooms. My eyes meet his and he holds them, not bothering to look away. The way he stared at me, there was such a longing, if I didn't know any better, I would say it's desire. I had packed my black curly hair in a high pony tail and had Phoebe do light make up, which just consisted of powder and lip gloss, she didn't let me leave otherwise.“G…good evening sir” I greeted.“C…..Avery” he sighed and took a whiff of the air before his eyes landed back on me, the rims of his pupils glowing amber.“I wondered how long
“Take a seat anywhere, Avery” he said gesturing with his hands and I moved glad to be away from the spotlight and try to decide on the three empty seats. I spot one towards the window and hurry towards it. I recognised the face of the person sitting behind the seat, it was the guy with stormy eyes in the hallway and he eyed me warily.I sat on my seat, trying to calm my racing heart when the seat behind me screeched.“Raphael what is it?” The professor asked.“I can't sit here, change my seat” he demanded and I swallowed.“There's nothing wrong with your seat Rapheal, sit down” the professor commanded, clearly not appreciating his tone.“If you don't change my seat, I'll leave. I cannot sit here” he repeated and I scrunched my eyebrows. Did he have a problem with me?I turned to look back at him, his stormy eyes already glaring at me. He suddenly grabbed his bag and walked away, evading me totally. He walked to one of the empty seats and plops down.I suddenly feel weird and the peop
After dinner, my roommates and I began heading to the other block, along with some students, while others stayed behind. As we climbed down to the second flight of stairs, I couldn't help but stare into the hallway, all the lights were back on.“Walk fast” Daphne called in front of me and I doubled my steps to meet up.***Daphne pushed the door open as we entered our room, but Phoebe stayed outside.“I'll see you guys later” Phoebe muttered in a small voice before walking away.“What's that about?” I asked Daphne who shut the door.“Learn not to be nosy, it'll help” she scolded and I looked down embarrassed. “You'll have to keep a low profile, so people won't be too interested in you” She warned.“I know” I replied, I was a little annoyed at her tone but I had no idea what she was and I knew she was just caring for me.I sighed and tossed myself onto the bed, my bones creaked and my muscle ached and soon I embraced the darkness and slept, dreaming of monsters trying to eat me, dark s
“What,"What just happened?” I asked, my voice trembling and Phoebe scoffed.“She's a dragon of course” she rolled her eyes and my lips moved but no words came out. Daphne narrowed her eyes at me and suddenly grabbed my hands, pulling me towards the door and I reluctantly went with her while still shaking.Daphne pushed the door open, I couldn't deny, she was strong and the way she held my hand right now, like she could snap it.Once we were outside in the quiet halls and Daphne turned to me.She looked at my trembling form from head to toe before looking at my eyes.“You're human aren't you?” She asked and I stared at her baffled.“Of course I'm human!” I replied before watching her eyes “aren't you?” I asked, and suddenly a cold feeling passed through my bones.“This is a school for monsters, no one here is human” as she said this I froze, suddenly feeling nauseous. I grabbed my head, it was spinning. "W...what?" my vision blurred before me, the tiredness and frustration was finall
When I came out from the stall, the bathroom was empty, they had probably gone for dinner.I made my way to the halls, it was empty as well and I rushed over to my room, pushing the door open and scanning round. My roommates weren't in, it looked like everyone had gone for dinner, there was a small clock on the wall indicating that it was seven minutes to seven.I quickly applied my lotion before tossing on my pajamas, a pair of sky blue trousers and sky blue top, I tied my hair up in a bun and grabbed my phone before leaving the room.As I closed the door, it dawned on me that I had no idea where the dinner was held and the halls were completely empty.I climbed down the flight of stairs and got to the first floor. It seemed all the floors were rooms only. I made my way out of the building and headed back to the first story, which was the first place I had entered. I took a deep breath and walked through the halls which where also empty and climbed to the second floor. There were maj
