June was finding it hard to focus on entertaining the eager customers after the news she had received not quite long ago. Cancer had depreciated her mum's health and if June wasn't successful in raising over a hundred dollars to settle the hospital bills, it would finally finish her off completely.
The stranger's eyes followed her as she made her movements round and round the pole with as much grace and talent as she could muster up. His eyes were glued to her and June felt oddly exposed. Two years of watching men watch her was enough to give her insights on the typical male behavior and their intentions as they looked at her but for the first time since June became a stripper, she was having issues reading the strange man. What did that stare mean?
"You did so well tonight, Amber" Stephen said as he passed the envelope that contained her pay to her after she had closed for the night. "Do more performances like that and you'd be very rich in no time" he advised. June gave a brief smile as she watched him walk back to the bar. Stephen could be overbearing sometimes but he was a nice man, all in all.
"He's right, you know. You did so well, tonight" June turned as she heard the unfamiliar but oddly familiar voice that had stirred up drama back at the club. Her hand went to her face on reflex and she relaxed when she felt the weight of the mask.
"Thank you" she mumbled as she turned to go into the dressing room. It was getting late and she had to make a trip to the hospital.
"Is stripping all you do over here?" The man made an attempt to start up a conversation June wasn't exactly thrilled on having.
"Yes Sir" Stephen had a strict 'Be nice to customers' policy and June wasn't going to break any of the club rules even if she didn't like any of them at all.
"You're a very beautiful woman" the man said as he reached over to run a finger through her hair, obviously mesmerized by the bright color like every normal male would be.
June flinched and withdrew instantly, "Thank you, Sir" Just at that moment, Anita walked past and June saw an escape.
"I have to go, it was nice meeting you" She turned and stopped when the man's hand circled her wrist.
"Stay" June had never felt compelled to do anything in her entire life. Who was this man that commanded so much authority and why was she entertaining him?
"I want to make you an offer" the man went straight to the point and June felt she wasn't going to like what the offer was going to be.
"I'm not interested"
"You haven't heard what I have to say"
"I don't need to. I'm not interested" She dragged her hand from his grip and turned around again. She barely made it to the door before the stranger spoke again.
"What if I tell you I can pay you triple times what you've earned today?" That got her attention.
"What did you just say?" June's hand fell from the doorknob as she turned to face the stranger who had just made an insane offer.
"You heard me correctly. Triple the amount you have made tonight" Was this man aware of how much she had made? What kind of a joke was this?
"I am really not in the mood to play games tonight, Sir"
"Games? I am in no way looking for a recreational activity to engage in with you, Miss Amber"
"I am not in the mood for this" she said more to herself than him. "What do you want from me, Sir?" It was taking way too much to not give him a piece of her mind.
"Like I said, I want to make you an offer" A half smile spread across his face and June flinched. How could such a smile give her conflicted emotions?
"I remember telling you I wasn't interested in whatever you had to say"
"I'll cut to the chase, I was intrigued by your performance tonight, Miss Amber. It was...different"
June was muttering a thank you when he added, "I'd like to have sex with you tonight" her heart almost literally stopped.
"You would...like..to what?" June stuttered as she tried to regain her composure. Who was this man?
"Sex. I'd like to have sex with you" he repeated, totally oblivious to June's shock.
Surprise gave way for anger almost immediately, "I really do not want to insult you, Sir" she started off soft and chipped in a warning "Don't make me"
"My initial offer was triple your earnings for the night. Are you taking it?"
"Sir, I may be a stripper but I am not a sex worker!"
"Are you taking it?"
"Go to hell" What in the fuck was going on? If anyone had told June her day was going to be full of so much crap, she would have just stayed in bed. But with a family to cater for, a girl couldn't afford such luxury.
"Been there, wasn't a nice place" the man had the audacity to smile and June felt every control she had built up for the job, slipping.
"Sir, if you'd excuse me, I have somewhere that is actually important to go to. Goodnight" the door slammed shut as she walked into the dressing room ignoring the stares the other strippers were giving her. She might have been struggling with three jobs, a sick mum and a little sister that needed so much attention it got on her nerves sometimes but there was no way she was going to let a total stranger come into her workplace and treat her like garbage.
But what was the whole offer thing about? Sex for such a huge amount? What exactly was the man's plans and most importantly why had he approached her instead of the other strippers? Something wasn't right but she sure as hell didn't care to find out or did she?
"What did the man want?" Anita's voice brought June back to the present. "He wanted to compliment me" June sighed as she started arranging her stuff to fit into her tote bag she used for work. "Compliment?" Anita wasn't exactly convinced but June wasn't in the mood to indulge Anita's curiosity. "Yeah, compliment. I have to go" she gave her friend a quick hug as she headed for the door, it was way past visiting hours and something urgent had come up anyways at the hospital and her attention was needed urgently which made her more anxious than she had felt in months. What was wrong this time around? She couldn't wrap her mind around what could have gone wrong but she was getting agitated as the minutes went by. It had been a long day and an even longer night and June was beyond exhausted. Two shifts at the coffee shop, one at the convenience store and then the intense pole dancing session, June wanted to curl up with a Michael Myers movie and sleep afterwards but fi
June's 5am alarm rang and she woke up with a jolt. She was laying in bed, in an unknown place and with a....man? It took her a few minutes for her brain to catch on with her environment and she started remembering. A man had approached her after her performance and made an offer she couldn't refuse which had landed her in the room she was in at the moment. Morals weren't exactly a driving force when the arrangement ended up with way more than she could have earned working all three jobs for a year. The plan was to wake up earlier than the stranger and leave before he woke up but somehow she had over slept. June was grateful the alarm had woken her up and not the man, she wasn't sure she wanted him to see her face. If he didn't know her identity, it was going to make it easier for her to shove the whole encounter into a far side of her mind and focus on other important things. Along with June's clothes, her mask was laying on the floor next to the bed and she was surprised to see
It didn't matter if the sun crashed on the earth or if the moon decided to replace the sun during the day, Michael Stahom was never late to work until that morning. He drove into the parking lot of the huge building where he was CEO and owner, Empire, in a haste to attend the meeting he had called for and was already 45 minutes late for. Typical Michael would have put whoever came five minutes late on probation but it was his turn to be on the receiving end. It didn't matter though, no one was going to punish him anyways, He owned the place. "Good morning Mr Stahom" the receptionist smiled in greeting as he hurried into the building. "Good morning, Emma" it was hard to keep track of his employees names but Michael made sure he knew the important people. "They're all waiting for you" Bridget, Michael's assistant, called out to him as he walked into his office. The elevator ride up to the floor where his office was situated was enough to inform him on the status of the office.
"Juneee!!!" June's sister, Layla screamed as she ran to hug her as her big sister, as she appeared in the hallway where their mum's room was situated in the hospital. It had been over a week since the last time June had paid a visit to the hospital and seen her little sister. Their mum had been sick for quite awhile but June couldn't afford to just sit with them at the hospital, the bills weren't going to pay themselves. "I need to speak to Doctor Rachel first, okay?" Layla nodded and June gave her a kiss on her forehead and told her to go back to their mum. The doctor was glad to see June in good condition but her face told June there wasn't much good news to share. With Layla satisfied and her mum finally asleep after crying, June kissed them both goodbye, promised to come see them more often and left the hospital to go for her first job. The convenience store was quiet as June walked into it that morning. She straightened the front of the dress she had worn from the hot
Michael couldn't recall how many times Drake had complained about how much he was huddling himself up in the office, bent over different files and not having a social life that didn't include boring contract signings and businessmen conferences. "I have the perfect place for you to go to ease up all this tension you've been carrying on your broad shoulders" Drake told him that afternoon as he walked into the office with the remaining files from the project. Michael didn't hesitate to air out his views, "If it's a party, I'm not interested" The look on Drake's face afterwards should have warned him but Michael knew he really needed a break so he complied anyways and found himself at Emmys that night. Unlike himself, Drake was a regular at Emmys and Michael didn't understand the pleasure anyone was getting from watching half naked women dance on a pole until the redhead with the mask climbed her podium. It was like a spell was cast, he couldn't take his eyes off her as she twir
"I can't believe I missed my daughter's birthday party for this half assed show" Two men were walking out of the club, visibly upset about the whole event. Emmys was a place you went to and got instantly happy but tonight was different and June knew she was in for it. Stephen sat at his desk with one of the biggest frowns June had ever seen in her two years of working at the strip club and she knew she wasn't going to get out of this easily. "Look who decided to show up" Stephen said as soon as June walked into his office. The frown dissolved into a smile but June knew it didn't meet his eyes. "I can explain, Stephen. Something came up, I couldn't..." Stephen cut her off before she could complete whatever she had to say. "Yes, you're going to have to explain yourself June Skylar!" Stephen yelled but relaxed when he saw fear forming in June eyes. You'd think years of working at a strip club would make her somehow strong enough to deal with men that yelled at her. "I..
"Hello, June Skylar" Michael called out to the stripper as she walked into the parking lot. He took a deep breath as he looked at the woman that had given herself a place in his mind without his consent. The first thing he noticed was how bright her eyes were, her hair color had been a marvel to him since he first time he saw her but it looked surreal as he took a good look at her. Michael concluded in his head, June Skylar was an extremely beautiful woman. After Anita had given him the name of the masked redhead stripper, he had emailed it to his assistant to run a background check on her and it didn't take 20 minutes for the results to come back in. Michael had discovered more than he had initially intended on. June Skylar, 25 years old, first an oldest child of Mrs Glory Skylar a widowed mother of two. She had lost her dad in her early teens and her mum had been diagnosed with Cancer not long after. She had dropped out of college and started running over two jobs to be a
"I didn't say black coffee, Miss. I said I wanted a macchiato" June apologized for the third time that moment as she started making another cup of coffee for the man that was already losing his patience. "You should be more focused on your work, Miss" the man advised as he collected his now correct order and walked out of the Cafe. It wasn't even 9 yet but June had mixed up over four orders and she still couldn't get her brain to correspond with her mind. The encounter with the strange billionaire the previous night had left her with tears rolling down her cheeks as she hailed a taxi without looking back if he had followed her or not. She couldn't possibly believe he had approached her with a more insane offer than the first one. A lot had happened in two days and it was overwhelming for her but the list kept on going up and up. After falling into an exhausted sleep after crying for hours after she got back home from the club, June had woken up to her sister still in bed wi
