Eva hadn't slept, and by morning, the unfamiliar man's face had settled somewhere behind her eyes, refusing to leave no matter how many times she told herself it meant nothing.

She found the same guard from the side entrance still on duty, and this time she didn't bother with subtlety.

"The man who came through here yesterday," she said. "Does he work here?"

A pause, longer than it should have been. "Not exactly."

Not exactly. Eva turned the phrase over, waiting for him to elaborate. He didn't.

  • Forced to Wear My Sister's Wedding Dress   The File She Found Agay

Eva arrived at Castellan Group earlier than usual the following morning. The building was still quiet when she stepped through the executive entrance, with only a few members of staff moving through the corridors while most of the offices remained unoccupied. She had several things to finish before the day's meetings began, but as she walked toward her office, her attention was drawn to the archive corridor. She slowed when she reached the cabinet. She had not come looking for the file. At least, that was what she had told herself when she left home that morning. She had come to finish some outstanding work and clear her desk before the next round of assignments, nothing more. Yet somehow, her feet had carried her back to the same cabinet she had stood in front of more than a month ago.She remembered what had happened the last time. She had been reading an old internal file when Henderson appeared and immediately told her she should not be looking at it. At the time, she had let it g

  • Forced to Wear My Sister's Wedding Dress   Five Minutes More

The following morning, Eva woke to the unmistakable warmth of Julian leaning over her. Before she could fully open her eyes, he pressed a soft kiss against her temple, and the familiar gesture was so unexpected that she blinked several times before finally looking up at him."Good morning," he murmured. She stared at him for a moment, still trying to understand why he was behaving as though nothing had happened the night before."Good morning," she replied cautiously. She pushed herself slightly higher against the pillows, but before she could ask where he had slept or whether he was still upset with her, Julian leaned down and kissed her.The question disappeared before she could form it. His mouth lingered against hers with enough warmth to make the distance between them from the previous night feel strangely insignificant. When he finally pulled away, Eva looked at him with an expression that was equal parts surprise and suspicion."You're acting very strange this morning."Julian'

  • Forced to Wear My Sister's Wedding Dress   Are You Angry?

The following morning, Julian was halfway through his first meeting when his phone vibrated against the table. He glanced at the screen and saw Leo's name. He ignored the call at first, but when it came a second time, he excused himself from the room and stepped into the corridor before answering."What is it?""Your uncle left his office unexpectedly yesterday without informing anyone. At first, there was nothing unusual about it, but then he drove to a private office in the business district, stayed for nearly an hour, and left again. What caught my attention was the person he went to see.""Who?" Julian asked, his voice tightening.Former Castellan legal adviser.Julian's expression tightened."Do we know what they discussed?""Not everything. I'm still trying to get a clearer picture, but the meeting appeared to be related to Castellan Group. He asked questions about the current balance of influence among some of the shareholders and how certain members of the board viewed your re

  • Forced to Wear My Sister's Wedding Dress   What Sophie Wants

The shouting had already started before Sophie came downstairs."You cannot stay in this house forever doing nothing," her father said, his voice carrying from the sitting room. "You wake up, stay in your room, go out when you feel like it, and come back whenever you please. You have no job, no husband, no responsibility, and every time I ask you what you intend to do with your life, you tell me you'll figure it out."Sophie stopped halfway down the staircase and closed her eyes for a moment. She had barely returned home, and already she was being reminded of everything that had gone wrong with her life."I told you I would figure something out," she replied as she entered the sitting room. Her father turned toward her. "When? Next year? Five years from now?"Her mother sat nearby, watching the exchange with an expression that suggested she had no intention of taking her husband's side."I am not asking you to become a different person overnight," her father continued. "I am asking yo

  • Forced to Wear My Sister's Wedding Dress   The Things She Didn't Know

Julian arrived at the restaurant a few minutes before Sophie, choosing a quiet private room away from the main dining area where they could speak without worrying about anyone overhearing them. When Sophie eventually walked in, she paused near the door as though reconsidering whether she should have come at all, but after taking a breath, she closed the door behind her and walked toward the table.Julian watched her take the seat opposite him before asking, “Did you tell her anything?”Sophie frowned, clearly caught off guard by the question. “About what?”“About the wedding.”Her expression changed almost imperceptibly, and for a moment she looked down at her hands before raising her eyes to meet his. “No, I haven't told her.”“Are you planning to?”“I don't know.”Julian's gaze hardened. “You should know.”Sophie gave a quiet, humorless smile. “That's easy for you to say. You're not the one carrying the secret.”“You agreed to keep it.”“I agreed to disappear,” she reminded him, her

  • Forced to Wear My Sister's Wedding Dress   What She Came Back For

“I’ll meet you at home. I want to meet Sophie.”Julian’s expression changed slightly at the mention of her name, and although the reaction lasted only a moment, Eva noticed the way his attention sharpened. He had been about to ask whether she wanted him to come with her, but the look on her face told him this was something she wanted to handle herself.“She asked you to meet her tonight?” he asked. She nodded. “She said she wanted to apologize properly. I don't know what will come from it, but I think I should hear her out.”For a moment, Julian said nothing. He knew how things had been between the sisters, and after everything Sophie had done, he wasn't sure what to make of her sudden change of heart. Still, he could see from Eva’s expression that this mattered to her.“All right,” he finally said. “Just be careful.”“I will.”Eva gave him a small smile before getting into her car. Julian watched until she drove away, but the thought of Sophie remained with him long after the car dis
