A New Start

The world around Amelia faded in and out as she tried to get her bearings. How much time had passed since she came out here to clear her head? How much time did it take for her other self to completely combine with her current self?

‘How do you feel?’

Feel… That was an interesting question, given that she didn’t feel anything.

Frowning, Amelia lifted her hands and examined them as if they were foreign to her, but they were her own. The same slender fingers, the same pale skin lightly peppered with freckles. She was still her, but she didn’t feel like her.

‘Fine, I think,’ Amelia responded, slowly getting to her feet. ‘I just feel... nothing.’

‘No pain?’ her succubus self purred. ‘Has all the heartache that bastard werewolf caused you disappeared?’

‘Yeah.’

If she truly thought about it, all her heartache was gone, as was the confusion she felt in regards to the hunter and the odd memory she found.

‘Then you should head back to camp and face that damned bastard Albert.’
