Alara stormed down the hallway like a woman with fire underneath her soles, her heels clicking sharply against the marble tiles. Her mind was racing, her face flushed like a ripened tomato and her hands still slightly trembling in anger from the encounter with Xavier.

Who the hell did he think he was, that Dutch bag playboy?

The audacity. The smugness. The way he’d touched her, pinned her to the wall…sigh.

“Alara!”

A familiar voice called from down the hall. Alara didn’t slow down until a flash of red caught her eye, Scarlet. Her best friend, co-conspirator in after-hours wine-fueled rants, and the only person in this godforsaken office and world who had the power to calm her rage.

Scarlet jogged up to her in her red pumps as she matched Alara’s pace.

“What are you doing here Scar?” She asked her friend.

“Came to drop off some documents for my dad with Charles Dad.” Scarlet took a closer look at her friend who was still fuming.

“You look like you’re about to throw someone out of a wi

Alara’s face is buried in a pile of workload and glasses sit on her face as she skims through the pages of the documents she has to hand over to Xavier as part of his workload when a knock is heard on the door of her office. It sounded more like someone banging on the door than a knock…She didn’t look up. “Come in.”The door opened immediately and almost too aggressively.Charles.She sighed audibly before meeting his gaze. “Should’ve figured when I heard it sound like my door was about to crash down.”Charles stepped in like an angry bull released from its pen, his lip still swollen and the bruise around his jaw fresh, thanks to Xavier’s fist.“I see the punch landed well,” Alara said, dry as sandpaper. “Too bad whoever did it didn’t harm your eyes, they look fine.”He shut the door behind him with a little too much force. “Don’t flatter yourself, Alara. I’m not here to play games.”She stood slowly, crossing her arms and leaning against the desk. “Oh, good. Because last time I check

  • Half Her Age,Twice The Sin   WHY HIM?

Inside the boardroom, Xavier and Sir Jericho sat in silence waiting for Charles to join in.“It’s been past five minutes, what’s keeping this boy?” Sir Jericho asked no one in particular while checking his watch. He hated being kept for a longer period. “Should I go fetch him?” Xavier asked in a tone that sounded more like sarcasm than concern and Sir Jericho just looked at him amused before shaking his head in the negative. “He will be here soon.” And just as they spoke the glass door pushed open with Charles coming in. “Took you so long, making your father wait.” Sir Jericho snapped. “I’m sorry father,I had to attend to an important client.” He apologized before walking to the other side of the table. At the head of the table, Xavier leaned back lazily in his chair, casually twirling a pen between his fingers. His expression looked more of amusement, a stark contrast to the fury radiating from Charles. Xavier had always had this effect on him…an unnerving, irritating confidence t

“Unbelievable.”Charles tossed the black folder across his table, where it skidded across to the edge. Michelle, sitting on the edge of the couch with her legs elegantly crossed, raised an eyebrow but said nothing at first. She had dropped by to check in on him during office hours just to be met by his outburst.“I mean, of all people,” Charles continued, pacing now, his voice rising with every word, “he brings Xavier back? My screw-up of a Step-brother? And puts Alara in charge of training him? Are we all being pranked by some divine comedy writer or what?” Michelle arched a perfectly manicured brow. “You done throwing your little tantrum?”“Do I look done?” Charles snapped turning towards her, running a hand through his hair. “My own father practically shoved me aside to bring him in. And then pairs him with my ex like it’s a damn reality show twist. Do you expect me to smile and be giggly about that Michelle?”Michelle uncrossed her legs, stood, and walked over to him. “Let’s be r

“So this is going to be your office from now on Mr Xavier.” Alara pushes the glass doors revealing a large office. She has spent the last hour showing him around the company, his office was the last stop for the day. The mahogany table gave the room a certain kind of aura suitable for someone like Xavier. The Opaque glass of the office was exactly what he needed as no one could know what he was doing in his office. The imagination of bending over the woman that stood before him on his desk, her ass in the air, turned him on so bad he distracted himself by looking around.Xavier walks into the office looking around as if checking if it was to his taste. “This will do Miss Alara.” He flashes her one of his playboy smiles and Alara couldn’t help but grimace. Prostitute, she thought to herself but she wouldn’t dare say it out loud would she? As much as she would love to smack his advances off his head, she loved her job a bit too much to risk it.“That will be all for today Mr Xavier,

CHAPTER 4The last person Xavier expects to meet sitting in the office is the frowning woman he met at the elevator a few minutes ago. He barely hears a word his father says.Alara Bancroft, he tests the name in his mind as she takes his handshake with a stiff smile. Her hand is soft and warm in his. A perfect fit for when he pins them above her head. For one long, sinful moment, Xavier forgets himself, thereby forgetting where he’s at. His mind strays to places it shouldn’t, lingering too long on how good she would look pressed against the desk. The smokiness in those grey eyes pin him with a strict look that is all too familiar. Eyes that have featured in several of his twisted fantasies; one where she gazes up at him from a kneeling position, another where her thighs are wrapped tightly around his waist. Lips parted and eyes rolling, she would be calling his name in a tone far different from irritation. His father’s voice yanks him back to reality, same time when she pulls away wi

CHAPTER 3FIVE YEARS LATER…Alara raises her head high to look at the building which stretches endlessly into the sky. Tall, sleek glass bounce off the light of the early morning sun. She steps forward, gripping her handbag firmly as she finally moves, ascending the stairs and walking into the establishment. Her heels click against the polished marble, announcing her presence and demanding attention. Heads turn to obey, conversations become on hold and curious eyes trail her every move. She doesn’t spare anyone a single glance.Inside, the lobby hums with the usual Monday morning chaos. CHAPTER 2It took forever but dawn finally came, knocking on the thick drapes that she’d refused to put up since last night. After shamelessly going at it, they finally left the house and Alara had her eyes open through it all.The door swung open suddenly and she jerked upright, relaxing when she saw it was only her best friend, Scarlet, breezing in like she owned the place. You couldn’t blame someone whose father always made it a point to tell her the world was her playground. Spoilt brat she was. One who wouldn’t hesitate to endure through whatever it was for Alara. The woman flicked her red hair as she walked toward the bed where Alara had herself cocooned under the sheets once more. A suggestive, teasing smile sat on her face and her blue eyes glinted with mischief.“Look who got screwed. Do you think sleeping in will—” she was taken aback when she heard the little strangled sobs that came from the wrapped heap on the bed. “Alara?”Feeling trapped, Alara tossed the covers back a

  • Half Her Age,Twice The Sin   THE BETRAYAL

CHAPTER ONE.Alana rolled her neck this way and that, exhaling deeply as the muscles popped in response. It’d been three weeks since she left the house for a business trip and she was all too excited to come back to Charles. However, the atmosphere around the house was a gloomy one and she wondered why but when she thought of the surprise she had in store for her boyfriend, she pushed dark thoughts out of her head.Stepping out of the car, she dragged her suitcase out, as well as the bags of decorations she stopped to get at a supermarket. One of the mall attendants had assured her that scented candles were sure to bring back the spark of romance in the bedroom. Especially since things had gone a little sour between her and Charles. She hoped to surprise him with her arrival and maybe after a few rounds of makeup sex, things would bounce back to normal. That was why she reached for sandalwood, jasmine and vanilla, three scents that were known to be alluring. A few packets of red pet
