Alice got discharged from the hospital three days later. According to the doctor, she was really fortunate not to have sustained any severe injuries, and the few bruises would not cause a scar.

She still looked sick to me, and her cheeks are swollen now, but I am just glad that the accident did not take her life.

I have ordered Ethan to make sure he gets me the person responsible for it, and even if it is the last thing I spend my life doing, I will.

I had wanted her transferred to my hospital where my competent doctor would look after her, but eventually discovered that the small hospital she was rushed to was equally competent. Another advantage to it is that it would not get out to the press.
