Chapter 18

"Ashton!" The police officer called out as he opened her cell gate, "Yes, sir?" She softly said as she looked towards him with terror in her eyes, "You're free to go," he said as Megan's eyes widened, "I'm free?" She asked in disbelief as the officer nodded, "Yes, now come on before I change my mind," he said in a cold tone, causing Megan to quickly hurried towards the exit, as the officer closed the gate behind her before escorting her out. 

As they entered the main building of the police station, Megan right away spotted her mother, causing her to grow pale in the face. Slowly, Megan walked towards the front desk, where she was immediately given back her belongings and had to sign a document. Her eyebrows, suddenly furrowed as the officer at the front desk handed her an envelope, "What's this?" She asked as the officer stared back at her blankly, "A restraining order," the officer replied as Megan's heart dropped, "I-
