Chapter 18: More Restrained.

James got closer and closer to her and, as he did so, he could see the anticipation in her eyes. Laura swallowed nervously when she saw a strange glint in his eyes. He was making her feel really nervous.

“Take off my glasses,” he said and Laura raised her hands to remove the gold-rimmed glasses and placed them a safe distance away and looked up at him once more. When he held her chin with his hand, Laura slightly parted her lips as she remembered being told to open her mouth. This made James smile even wider before he pressed his lips against her open ones.

Laura did not even have the time to get surprised before he pushed his tongue into her open mouth. He moved the hand that was holding her chin to the back of her head to block any retreat as he swept his tongue over her own.

Laura felt like a small boat caught in a storm in the middle of the ocean. Her heart was racing from the excitement she was feeling and held on to his jacket as if to ground herself. James wrapped his free hand around her waist and lifted her to make her sit on top of her desk and stepped forward to stand between her legs.

Laura started going with the flow once she got over her initial shock and slowly responded to his kiss. When James felt her tongue hesitantly wrap around his, he gently nipped on her bottom lip as if to encourage her to explore more and Laura bit his lip too as she tried to copy his actions. She did not know how close he got to pushing her to lay down on his desk.

James immediately pulled away from her when he felt like he might act upon his thoughts if they didn’t stop soon and Laura, who was just starting to enjoy herself, pouted petulantly. How can he rile her up like this and just stop halfway? She complained inwardly. She didn’t have to say anything because her thoughts were reflected on her face and James was fully aware of her frustration.

James took a step back to give her space to get off the desk, but Laura didn’t move and continued to sit there without changing her posture. James looked at the white thighs that were exposed because of how high her dress rode up and looked away while clearing his throat.

“Let’s go have lunch,” James said as he went around the desk to take his phone. Laura sighed, completely unaware of just how much she flustered James, and got off the desk while straightening her clothes.

“Okay,” Laura said, and went to pick up her purse. James waited for her by the door and studied her face as she walked closer to him.

“Wait,” he said, stopping her from opening the door.

“Hm? What is it?” Laura asked, feeling confused.

“Your lipstick is smudged,” James said and wiped the corners of her lips naturally. Laura stayed still and let him do whatever he wanted as she stared at his face. It was so serious she wouldn’t have noticed if he wiped all the lipstick from her lips.

“Better, let’s go now,” James said and offered his arm to her before walking out of his office.

“Enjoy your lunch,” Derek said as he stood up once the two stepped out of the office.

“We will,” Laura said with a bright smile as she walked away with James. Seeing the two of them walk together so intimately finally confirmed his suspicions. It looked like his boss finally stepped into a new relationship. Hopefully, it will last this time, he thought to himself as he sat back down to continue with his work.

The two of them got in the elevator, and James pressed the button to the ground floor and stepped back to stand next to Laura. Laura grabbed his arm once more and swung forward to look at his face. James looked at her mischievous expression and raised an eyebrow in question.

“You also have some lipstick on your lips,” Laura said with a smile and used her thumb to wipe the corner of his lips that was stained by her lipstick.

“Did you get all of it?” James asked when Laura continued to look at him without doing anything.

“Mmh,” Laura answered and stood upright since she didn’t have an excuse to stare at his face anymore.

The two stepped out of the elevator on the ground floor and, as expected, the two drew a lot of attention to themselves. It was the first time the employees had seen James with a woman and not carry an annoyed expression on his face. In fact, it looked like he was enjoying her company.

Laura, who had been happily smiling at James, spotted the girls at the reception area and waved at them. The girls suddenly felt like they were overwhelmed with favour and waved at her, too.

“What is it?” James asked her as he looked to see who she was waving at.

“Oh, it’s the girls. They were very nice earlier,” Laura said to him. When he heard what she said, he unconsciously smiled because he had seen the almost fanatic looks they had when they looked at Laura.

“They must have been really nice,” James said as he stepped out of the building with Laura. The receptionists who had seen James smile once he heard what Laura said to him together with the other staff that were on the ground floor were silent for a while, even when the two had already left, not believing that they had seen Mr. Lewis smile.

James opened the car door for Laura before circling to the other side to get in. Laura waited for him to get settled in the car before moving closer to him and plastering herself on his side. They sat in silence as they made their way to the restaurant, both of them preoccupied with their own thoughts.

While James was thinking that he had to restrain himself more lest he scares her because of just how much of a deviant he was, Laura was thinking that she was going to have to do some research on how to seduce this man because he was too restrained!
