LOGINMEGAN'S POV
My lips curled into a soft smile as I wrapped my hands around my father's giant arms. After a while, we disengaged the hug, and he continued. “Don't worry, my dearest Meg. As far as I'm concerned, no one can hurt even a strand of your hair.” “Thank you, Dad.” I mouthed, and for the first time in so many years, I felt safe and loved. Taking a deep sigh, he continued. “Don't forget. Tomorrow, you'll be resuming fully at the Wolf's Joint empire as the MD in charge of every operation.” I shook my head slightly, and his eyes narrowed with a mixture of confusion and astonishment. That offer… Every single werewolf would die to get it. “What? You don't want to? Meg, this is your befitting position in the Wolf's clan as not just the Moon Heiress, but also as my daughter.” “Dad, you know I've been hiding my identity. Making me the MD out of the blue is like telling everyone that I'm the Alpha Queen. I'm not yet ready to reveal my true identity. Just see this as an undercover supervision. Please don't say no.” I continued with a pleading voice. Reluctantly, he sighed. “Are you sure about this, Megan? Every werewolf would die to be in this position." “I'm sure, Dad. This is what I want; please don't refuse.” I pleaded, and he patted my shoulder. “Fine. You can start with becoming the new project manager. If you, by any chance, do not feel comfortable with this position, do not hesitate to let me know, okay?” He said, and I nodded my head. “Yes, Dad.” The next day, I was dressed in my corporate attire with a dark shade, matching my black pair of trousers. “Stop.” I snapped, making the driver halt the car abruptly as he quickly turned to look at me. “Ma'am, we're four poles away from the company. Why do you want to stop here?” He inquired anxiously. I quickly took off the expensive jewelry on my wrist and neck. “I'll take a cab to the company. You don't have to drive me there.” “Ma'am?” The driver called out with fear in his eyes and voice. “I really don't want to lose my job.” His voice was hoarse and anxious. “You won't lose your job. Don't worry, I specifically asked you to drop me here, so there's nothing to worry about.” I replied as I got out of the car and flagged down a cab that I quickly entered. As a project manager, why would a Maybach be driving me to work? That will only raise suspicions that I don't want… At least, not now. The cab drove straight into the skyscraper. I took off my shade as I got out of the cab and headed into the building. Even though I was still at the entrance, I could hear two workers clearly talking at the counter. “The new project manager starts today. Super young. Twenty bucks says she's all looks and no skills.” The first lady whispered, and they chuckled. The other lady, who looks domineering and proud, continued with a definite voice. “Make it a hundred and fifty. She's probably someone with a rich sugar daddy. Otherwise I would have that manager position.” Oh! I just got here, and I already have a competition. Intriguing! Holding my cup of piping hot coffee, I tried to walk past them when the domineering lady snatched the coffee from me. I raised my brows, confused, to look at her. “You must be the new assistant.” Before I could say another word, she was already gulping down the contents of the cup. “You need to remember two extra sugars, okay?” “A thousand bucks says you'll spit that out in three seconds.” I snapped. She rolled her eyes and continued sipping from the cup. “Hello, I'm your new project manager, and I decide who stays and who gets fired…” I was still speaking when she spit the coffee out on the first lady's face with her eyes widened in shock. The lady screamed and rushed off to get her stained shirt cleaned. “I…. I… I don't… I didn't… I didn't know.” She stuttered with a nervous chuckle. “A fresh coffee will do. No sugar, thanks.” I sharply said, and she nodded her head with a forced smile. She stormed down the hallway, fuming and mumbling inaudible words to herself with her heels clicking against the polished floor. “Pst… Claire. Hey, wait.” Someone whispered from a slightly closed door. She stopped and turned her gaze to the door. Curiously, she rushed to the lady behind the door. “What is it, Hailey?” “You were right about the sugar daddy. Look.” Hailey brought her phone closer to Claire, who scoffed in disbelief. “She's with the Alpha Prince!” “Wait, she's an omega? There's no way a human gets to work as a project manager of this company.” Claire freaked out. “Omegas are only meant to eat from the crumbs that fall from our tables. She's even wolfless. How can she fit in with no supernatural powers?” With a mischievous grin, she continued. “The Prince. He must have faked her entire résumé.” “Wait until that board meeting. We'll make sure she regrets ever stepping her foot into this company. What a whore she is!” Hailey made a disgusting face at the picture of me and Nate on her screen. A few minutes later, I was already settled in my new office, doing some paperwork, when I heard a faint knock on the entrance. “Come in.” The door was pushed open, and Claire walked in with a new glass of coffee. Placing it on my table, she smiled nervously. “I'm truly sorry for what happened earlier.” I didn't bother looking at her deceiving face. “Let's not make it a habit, shall we?” “You're about to crash and burn, you witch! Feeling proud because you whored yourself into getting this position? Well, get ready.” She thought to herself with her fists clenched tight. She turned to leave but stopped and reluctantly turned back to me. “Oh, no… I forgot to tell you, your biggest investor. A very difficult guy. He's going to attend your first board meeting and…” “Really difficult?” I raised my eyebrows at her. “Yeah, really. He hates waiting, and…the bad news is he's currently waiting for you.” She continued. I glanced sharply at the table clock. “2pm? Why was it too slow earlier? Shit! I have to go.” I picked up my laptop and rushed out of the office. Claire smirked coldly. She had reset the clock too slow, intending to make me go late for my first presentation. “Let's see how you get out of this one.” She thought with a wide smile before walking out of the office.MEGAN'S POV I held onto my head as I felt my eyes closing. My vision was blurry. “What did you do to me?”He cackled mischievously and sat down with his legs crossed. “Drink wasn't the only surprise tonight. Of course, I know you would find out that the drink was drugged.” Then, he pointed at the incense burner on the table, and I breathed heavily, trying hard to keep my eyes open. “That…. I already took the antidote, so it won't affect me or anyone in this room except you, Miss Prescott.” He laughed maliciously. “You're…. You're evil and don't deserve to live.” I managed to speak because I was almost losing my voice. He roared with laughter like I had just given him a compliment. “There's no need to act tough, Miss Prescott. Don't worry, I'll go gentle with you. Look at you now.” He snapped his finger, and everyone in the room left instantly. In the twinkle of an eye, the room became empty. Bending closer to me, he ran his fingers all over my body. “You look like a helpless litt
MEGAN'S POV I sat on the chair facing the desktop on the table, lost in thought and staring blankly at the screen of the computer. Then came a faint knock on the door of my office. I didn't even realize that the door of the office was swung open until Claire tapped the table and I blinked hard, turning to her. “Y… Yes?”“Miss Prescott, are you okay? You look lost, and that's bad for work.” She chipped in. I forced a smile. “It's nothing. How may I help you?” “Oh, you don't need to help me because you'll be needing a lot of that help for yourself.” She jokingly snapped. “I mean, as the project manager, you'll have to meet with Mr. Davison. He's quite a difficult man to please. You'll need him to sign, and then we can proceed with the other facilities.” She tried to sound caring, but in the real sense, it felt like she was mocking me.“Mr. Davison?” I mouthed with my eyes rolling. “Get me an appointment with him.” I readily replied, and she smiled mischievously.Picking up the files
AUSTIN'S POVI walked into the store, and Kayla rushed to me with wide arms and a beaming smile. “Oh, Austin. How sweet of you! You spoil me so much. Thank you for buying the entire store for me. You really…” She ran her hands from my chest down to my stomach. “You really didn't have to.” Immediately, I stared hard at her with arched eyebrows. “What are you talking about?” I pushed her hand away. “Who said I bought you anything?”Megan stared at both of us with an expressionless glare as she clutched my shoulder bag. The second saleslady chuckled nervously and started. “Uhm… Alpha, you said you bought the store for your wife. I naturally assumed… I mean, I saw you both.” She pointed at Austin and Kayla while talking. “I've seen you both on TV together, so she must be your wife, right?”“This is ridiculous!” Megan shook her head as she turned to leave, but I grabbed her arm. “No, Megan. You're my wife.”For a second, she became numb. After a few minutes of silence, she turned around
ALICE'S POV I drove into the mall and parked the car in the garage. Kayla and I walked into the mall laughing and chatting. However, our laughter was cut short the moment we sighted Megan shopping in the clothes section. Kayla scoffed in disgust as she cleared her throat noisily to get Megan's attention. Megan turned slightly with her face indifferent. “Oh, look who we have here. I wonder how many times you had to spread your legs to be able to afford that.” She pointed at the dress Megan was holding. Ignoring her, Megan rolled her eyes and proceeded to take out another dress from the display shelf. Furious, Kayla grabbed her arm rudely. “Hey. I'm talking to you.” “She thinks she can buy a discount dress at a luxury store.” I taunted, staring hatefully at her. Kayla and I laughed loudly. “And pretend to be a socialite.” I added.Kayla shook her head in a feign of pity. “You know what? It's actually kind of sad. You can put lipstick on a pig, but that doesn't stop it from being a p
MEGAN'S POV My words seemed to throw Austin off balance. He stared at me, blinking rapidly. I could almost hear his heart beating fast. “What do you say, Alpha Austin Sinclair? I thought you wanted to save your little dream girl? I don't have all the time in the world.”“No, absolutely not.” He finally blurted out, to my surprise. My eyes widened in astonishment. “What?” I snapped at him.He shook his head." I said, No. I cannot give up my position in the Wolf's Joint Empire."“Then, we have absolutely nothing to talk about, Mr. Sinclair.”I turned to leave, but Kayla's voice made me turn around. She ran straight to Austin, shedding her usual false tears—nothing new.“Austin, your ex-wife is so cold-hearted. You know how important this eatery is to me, don't you? Just because she's whoring herself to the Alpha Prince, she has succeeded in getting me thrown out of here.” Kayla sniffed pretentiously. I shook my head in disgust. A drama queen will always be a drama queen. Kayla sharply
MEGAN'S POVLucien and I were seated at a fancy restaurant with the piping hot delicacies served in front of us. I sipped the cocktail slowly as he started. “How is your new job treating you? You know you could have just started as the MD?” “I don't want that yet, Lucien. I just started, and I hope it gets better.” I simply uttered, spooning the creamy pasta into my mouth. After a few seconds of silence, with a worried voice, Lucien added. “How are you coping with your ex-husband?”I choked. My gaze went from the plate to Lucien. “He's working as a partner of the company. Of course, I'm there to do my job, which is precisely what I've been doing.”“Megan, if you can't cope with him around you, do not hesitate to tell me. I'll do anything and everything to buy the shares back from him and…” Lucien was determined, but I interrupted him softly. “You don't have to. Austin and I are divorced. Whatever we had was in the past. Now, we're just co-workers or partners in a business place. That
