Chapter Eighty One

"Now, we are ready to go to the market.!!" Rose said with a smile on. They both left the mall through the back door but before stepping out, Christopher had already called an uber. He left his car there and they got into the uber and went to the market. At the market, Rose bought everything she would need while cooking. When they left the market, John had already sent Christopher a message saying that he had left the house and was on his way to pick Princess up from school. "Coming to the market is tiring but I enjoyed It," Christopher said when they were out of the market area and in an uber that will take them back to the mall.

"Hmmm, what was fun about going to the market?? You were just following me!" Rose said with a shake of her head.

"That's the fun part of it. I get to follow you around!!" Christopher answered. "Wha else could be better than that? Do you want to tell me you did not have fun?" He asked.

"I can't deny the fact that I had fun. I had fun and that was because I got to make fun of you. It's fun coming to the market with you. It's very easy to cheat you!" Rose said with a bright smile.

"Wow!!! Did you enjoy how I was cheated that much?" Christopher asked.

"Yes!! It was fun to watch how a big businessman like you will be cheated on in the market. How could you buy something worth 500 nairas for 2000? That's a big gain to the seller.!" Rose said and laughed at Christopher.

"Madam, no be only your husband dey do like that ooo... All these market women like to dey scam men we no know the price at all!" The Uber driver who had been listening to their conversation said with a smile. "Oga!" He called Christopher while looking at him through the rearview mirror. "No mind madam!! E be like say she don dey find reason to laugh you since. No worry, employ me as your Uber driver and I go dey teach you how to price things for market!! I sabi prices well well!!" He said proudly.

"Did you hear that honey!?? You can take him as your mentor!! Wouldn't that be great!?" Rose asked with laughter in her voice.

"What did you just call me? Did... I hear you call me honey?" Christopher asked after Rose had finished talking.

Rose averted her gaze from him and asked. "Is that the only word you heard from everything that I said?"

"Yes!! That's the only important word in all that you have said. Can you call me honey again? It sounds nice when it is coming from you." Christopher answered her.

"Sorry to disappoint you... I won't say it." Rose said.

." please..." Christopher pleaded and Rose shook her head in denial. "Please... You didn't even say anything about what I asked you to watch on tv this morning." He added with an aggrieved face.

"I have nothing to say!!" Rose said quickly and averted her gaze from him.

"Really? You have nothing to say?" Christopher asked while watching every of her reaction.

"I don't..."

"Oga, madam... We don reach where we dey go." The driver who had been watching them with a smile on his face said.

"Okay, can you stay here for a while? I will tell someone to come and get the things we have in the booth. Will that be okay?" Christopher asked the driver.

"That one dey ok!! I like two of una so, make una no worry. I go wait till anybody wey wan pack everything come!" The driver answered.

"Okay, thank you so much. Here is your money." Christopher said as he handed the driver a lot of cash.

When the driver counted it, Rose and Christopher had already opened the door and gotten out. He also rushed out of the car and said, "oga!! The money you much!! Na only 5000 be the money wey una suppose to pay me but you give me 20k!"

"Take everything. It's a thank you for a job well done. You are a good driver." Rose answered with a smile.

"Ha!! E too much!! Thank you ooo!!! This one is too much!!! Thank you!!" The driver continued to thank them as they both nodded and walked away. A few minutes later, his bodyguards went to the Uber driver and took everything that Christopher and Rose bought from the Uber.

When Rose and Christopher got into her office, John sent Christopher another message saying that they had arrived at the mall's parking lot. "Princess is here! Should we meet up with her or, wait for her to come inside then, we leave later.?" Christopher asked Rose when he got the message.

"Let's meet with her outside. I can assure you that, if we allow Princess to come inside then we will not leave this place till night.!" Rose answered.

"Okay, hold on. Let me tell them to wait for us." Christopher said and sent a text back to John asking him to wait that they will be out shortly.

When Princess was driven to the mall, she kept looking at the talk building. She had watched the video of the opening and had seen what the inside looked like but, she hadn't stepped a foot inside. She was so happy thinking that she would meet her parents inside. She was still talking to Mrs. Rita excitedly when John passed her parent's reply to her. "Am sorry small madam, we are not going inside. The boss asked us to wait for them here."

"Noooo... Why? I want to go inside.! I was so looking forward to stepping inside that mall... Can you call them?" Princess whined.

"I can't call them. The boss said they will be out shortly." John answered.

"Grandma!! Can you call mommy and ask her to wait for us inside?" She asked Mrs. Rita.

"I thought you now have a phone? Why don't you call them yourself?" Mrs. Rita asked Princess.

"God.! How can I be so forgetful?" Princess said and face palmed herself. "I didn't even remember that I could call them myself.!" She added and took out her phone from her backpack to call Christopher.

Christopher and Rose were already preparing to leave the office when Princess's call came in. Christopher swiped to receive the call while Rose went to talk to Bolu her assistant before she would leave.

"Why is my princess calling me when I will be with her shortly!?" Christopher asked when he connected the call.

"Daddy!! Can't I come and meet you and mom inside?" Princess asked.

"You can but not today. You will come inside another day." Christopher answered her with a smile.

"Why another day and not today?? I am here already so, I might as well come inside." Princess said.

"Yes, you can but you won't. Not today at least. We will meet you in the parking lot once your mother tidies up things here." Christopher answered her.

"Fine... I am waiting for the both of you in the car. This is wickedness. I am already here. Just for me to satisfy my little curiosity, my parents don't want to allow it. That's just not fair." Princess said.

"That trick of yours won't work on me. We'll be out shortly and I love you, my princess!" Christopher answered.

"Fine!... I love you too..." Princess answered and hung up the call.

"From your expression, I can tell that you are not angry they turned you down." Mrs. Rita said after Princess dropped the call.

"I am not angry but that doesn't mean I am happy. How can they turn me down when I am asking so nicely? What if I had run into the mall immediately after we parked the car?" Princess said.

"I am very sure that you are not that kind of person and so are your parents. They know you will wait for them here that's why!" Mrs. Rita answered and pat Princess on the head.

"Hmmm, they will meet me here. I am not going anywhere!" Princess answered.

When Rose came back into the office, Christopher had finished the call and was waiting for her with her phone and purse in his hand. "Let's go. I am sure Princess will be getting impatient very soon." Christopher said.

"Okay, I am done here. Let's go." Rose said and they both left the office and walked to the elevator. They took it to the underground garage and stepped out through the door that was meant for Rose alone. They got when John had parked and knocked on the glass.
