Chapter Seventy

"Who do you like? My wife? E be like say you dey mad!! What about your crush!!? See... If you don't have anything better to say or do then, go and try to woo the girl you like! " Christopher fired at him. "Infact eh, get off my phone!! You like my wife ko, you like my wife ni!!" He said. Before he could hand up the call, he heard Uzo's laughter from the other end.

When he got home, Rose had already taken her bath and they were all in the kitchen making dinner. He managed to sneak in without Princess seeing the Phone he got for her. After dinner, Rose asked Princess to go and get her assignment from her room and then come down. Christopher also used that opportunity to go to their room and take the phone that they had rapped. "Here are my assignments mom!" She said as she sat beside her mother.

"Okay... Let's see what you have here..." Rose said and flipped through her book.

"Mom, you know I can do these things myself. Right?" Princess said.

"I know my baby is a big girl and she can handle this simple thing but, I want to help. Is there a problem with that?" Rose asked.

"No. Where is dad!?" Princess asked looking around for her father.

"He went to get something from the room," Rose answered. "Princess!" She called

"Yes mom," Princess answered.

"Would you like to work and earn some money so that you can buy a phone for yourself?" Rose asked.

"Sure!! The only problem is that I don't know that kind of work that I can do." Princess said excitedly.

"I have what you can do. Would you like to work for me?" Rose asked.

"Work for you? What kind of work is that?" Princess asked.

"A model! You'll get to model the clothes that I sell in the mall.!" Rose answered.

"A model!!! That will be awesome.! I want to do it. Mirabel is also a model. When can I start!?" Princess said with excitement all over her face.

"You'll start during the weekend. I don't want it to affect your school work! Don't you want to know how much I will pay you?" Rose asked with a smile at how Princess was already striking different poses.

"I don't want to know how much you will pay. I am sure you already have money saved somewhere for me. You just want me to learn how to earn before spending.!" Princess asked and struck another pose. "How do I look!?" She asked.

Rose couldn't hold her laughter anymore and laugh. "You look funny in that pose! I didn't expect you to be so wise. How did you know that I have saved some money for you?" Rose asked after her laughter had died down.

"You work all day and you hardly go out to have fun. Ever since I can remember, you have always been working. You don't even have any friends! If you are not saving it then, what do you do with the money you earn?" Princess asked.

Rose was left open-mouthed when Princess finished speaking. How can six year old be so observative? She was still thinking of how to reply when Christopher came back to the sitting room where Princess was still trying to strike the perfect pose. "What are you doing?" He asked her.

"I am rehearsing. Mommy just told me that I will work as a model so, I am trying to rehearse. How do I look?" Princess asked.

"You look amazing.!" Christopher answered. He took a seat and placed the gift bag on his lap.

"What that!! Whose birthday are we celebrating!?" Princess asked when she saw the gift with her father.

"We are not celebrating anyone's birthday. This gift is for you. Your mom and I got it for you!" Christopher answered.

"You both got me a gift!? What that?" Princess asked while looking from her mom to her dad.

"Why don't you open it and find out?" Rose said.

"Okay..." Rose said and went to take the gift from Christopher. She took a seat and started to tear off the wrap. When she saw what was inside, her eyes bulged out in excitement. "Is... Is this a phone?" She asked as she took it out. "An iPhone!! Is this a prank!?" She asked.

"Go ahead and take it out!" Christopher urged.

Princess took out the phone and screamed. "I now have a phone!!!!!" She screamed and jumped around. "I now have a phone!... I now have a phone... I now have a phone..." She sang as she danced around. "Thank you, mom!!" She said and hugged Rose and then gave her a kiss then moved to Christopher and did the same thing. "Thank you, daddy!!"

"You are welcome, baby! We felt we should give it to you since you already have a source of income. That way, you will treasure it!" Christopher said to Princess who was still dancing around happily.

"You don't have to remind me. I already value it and I value everything that you have given to me. I love you two. You guys are the best!!" Princess said with a smile.

"We love you too..." Rose answered.

"I can't wait to get to school tomorrow and show my phone to Mirabel and Frank. I will save their number and we can always make a video call when were are off school.!" Princess said to herself as she turned on the phone.

"I have saved some numbers there for you. Those are all emergency contacts that you can easily call If there Is a need." Christopher explained. "Come here let me show you how to use it!" He beckoned to Princess.

"Madam!! You still have the assignment to do..." Rose reminded Princess of her homework that she had forgotten about.

"I will do them. I haven't forgotten. Let me just feel the phone small!!" Princess pleaded.

"You have a lot of time to feel the phone. Do your assignment while your dad helps you to set up something on it." Rose said.

"Your mom is right!! Go ahead and do your assignment while I help you set up some things on it. That way, you can use it when you are done with your homework." Christopher added.

"Okay," Princess said and went back to her book. She opened it and started working on her home works. She wanted to finish as fast as possible so that she can take her phone and run to her room to use it. In less than an hour, she had finished her assignment and taken her books back to her room. "Can I have my phone now?" She asked.

"Yes, you can have your phone. Just make sure you don't spend all your time on this phone!" Christopher said as he handed the phone over to her.

When Princess collected the phone, she ran to look for Mrs. Rita so that she could show her the new phone. "I also got you a gift!" Christopher said to Rose after they were left alone.

"You got me a gift? What for?" Rose asked.

"Do I need to have a reason before getting you a gift?" Christopher asked.

"It's not like that, I mean... What is the occasion?" Rose asked.

"Well, the occasion is to congratulate you on the opening of your mall and to wish you well!" Christopher said with a smile.

"Okay! But I don't see you with any gift. Where is it?" Rose asked.

"It's right here!" Christopher said and he got up and walked to her. He pulled her up and said. "My gift for you is," he said and kissed her on the lips.

Rose immediately reacted to the kiss. She pulled him close and they both deepened the kiss. They continued kissing without pulling away from each other. None of them wanted to stop the kiss.

"Gosh!!! You both have a room!!" They both heard a shout that pulled them away from the kiss.

They both looked at Princess who had interrupted them and Mrs. Rita who was standing behind Princess with a big smile on her face.
