Chapter Forty Nine

After moving some things into the room, Rose went into the bathroom to get cleaned up. Christopher was waiting for her to come out of the bathroom but his body was thinking of other things so he went into another bathroom and had a long and cold shower. When he came back into the room, he met Rose on a call and she was putting on a transparent nightie with her back to him. He gulped in air and walked slowly to the bed.

When Rose got out of the bathroom, she didn't find Christopher there so she chose to get dressed and go to bed before he could get back. She was about to lay down when her phone started to ring. "Hello Ada, how are you?" She said after receiving the call.

"Am fine sis, how are you?" Ada answered her.

"I am fine. How is the business going? Sorry I didn't call to check on things." Rose apologized.

"Things are ok. How are Princess and that hot husband of yours?" Ada asked teasingly.

"Don't tell me you have been eyeing my husband ooo.!!" Rose said with a smile.

"You don't know what you have gotten yourself into. Your husband has a lot of crush and when they find out that he is married, you will pay fine to them." Ada let out and they both laughed at that. "Anyways, I just called to check on you. What's up?" Ada asked they had both calmed down from their laughter.

"Things are cool here but something have happened and it's kinda exciting and scary," Rose said with a sigh.

"Is it something you want to share?" Ada asked cautiously. She has the freedom to call but that doesn't make them close anyway. The only thing that changed is that they no longer talk to each other like a boss and employee.

"Well, I don't know if you will want to be bothered by my problems," Rose said.

"What are you talking about? I will be glad to be bothered by you." Ada quickly let out before Rose could say anything else she added. "What are you waiting for. Spill it already."

"Don't be so excited to gossip," Rose said but not sternly. "Anyway, the first thing is Christopher's father while the second is Christopher himself."

"Did they do anything to you?" Ada asked worriedly.

"No, no. It's just..." Rose stammered. Trying to put her thoughts into words. This is practically the first time she was sharing her issues with anyone and it felt strange but good. If she had known earlier, she would have made Ada a sister way before now.

"Come on sis... You don't have to feel so distant with me. Just spill whatever is in your mind." Ada urged

"Okay... so here is the thing... Where do I even start from? His father or Christopher himself. " Rose asked.

"Well, we could start from his father cause I feel that is bothering you more. Right?" Ada asked from the other end of the call.

"Yes. You are right. His father's attitude is bothering me more. So here is the thing. Since I got here, I've met his father twice and it wasn't good. The first time, he accused me of being paid by his son to act as his wife... He offered to pay me off and I accepted. " Rose explained.

"Hahahah.... So, what happened next. Did he pay you?" Ada asked between laughter.

Rose couldn't help but smile as well. Thinking about her actions now, it was indeed funny. "Well, I ended up getting 7 million from him. After he had sent the money, I thanked him and called him father in law. He was so pissed I could see his veins popping out "

"That's great!! He deserves it. If I was in your shoes, I probably would have been scared to do what you did. You rock sis!!" Ada said from the other end of the phone and one could hear the obvious admiration dripping from her voice.

"Alright. I just did it at that moment. I didn't think it through. Well... It felt good tho. Now that I think about it. I don't regret doing that because he was over at our place today and made my daughter cry." Rose explained.

"Then, it's good. Sis, just make sure you don't give him the chance to control you. Make him know you are not somebody he can trample upon. Okay?" Ada added.

"Yes, yes yes... I have heard you. Now, about Chri..."She was saying when she had the door opening and the light footstep of Christopher. "I'll call you tomorrow. Christopher just walked in." She whispered.

"Ooooh," Ada drawled suggestively. "Have fun sis. Good night!!" She said and hung up before Rose could answer. Rose took some moments to compose herself before she stood up and walked to the bed. "That was Ada," she said to Christopher who was watching her as she walked to the bed.

"Ok," Christopher answered but his eyes never left her as she climbed the bed. "If you keep dressing like this every night then I won't be able to control myself." He added as he moved closer to her on the bed.

"How do you mean?" Rose asked.

"You look too enticing with what you are wearing." He said and ran his hand over her exposed thighs.

Rose shivered out of excitement and fear. She could guess what was running through Christopher's head and she would be lying if she said she wasn't thinking about the same thing. So, she just backed him and muttered. "Good night.!"

Christopher smiled at her reaction and willed his body to calm down. "Good night!" He mumbled also. He didn't move or say anything till he heard Rose's even breath. He moved as gently as possible and held her from behind. Immediately his hand touched her waist, she stiffened. "I love you!" He whispered. "Let me hold you please..." He added. Because Rose was backing him, he didn't see her smile after he said he loves her, and gradually, she relaxed herself and fell into a peaceful sleep. Christopher also relaxed and dozed off with a smile on his face.
