Chapter Forty Eight

Rose was surprised by the things Christopher was revealing to her. "So, are you trying to say that your father is penniless without you or there is more to this?" Rose asked him.

"There is more. I also had his phone tapped but I have never gotten anything useful. When I found out about the changes he did to the will, I was shocked and found it unbelievable but, last night after he left here with Cindy. He had a call and that call proved something. That call was what made me sure that all he has belongs to me and my wife. He was being forced to get me married to Cindy or else, a secret will be revealed." Christopher explained.

"I want to assume that you said something about this to him and that's why he was so angry with me. Right?" Rose asked.

"Yes. I got angry over the fact that he made Princess cry and he kept calling you names. He even threatened to cut me off from everything and send me back to the states and then make life miserable for you and Princess." Christopher said and from his voice, one could hear the irritation. "I couldn't keep quiet and make him believe that I am fully dependent on him. I told him straight up that, I know everything belongs to me and you who happens to be my wife and he is the one who will be cut off if he isn't careful." He added.

"You wouldn't do that, would you?" Rose asked.

"I will. If he tries anything stupid. I value my family and I will not take it likely with anyone who wants to hurt my family. I am not like him who doesn't know what family means. That's why I have set up a security team for you and Princess. I hope you won't mind but, that's the only option." Christopher said.

"I am sure he was just being angry. Your father won't harm us. We don't need to be going about with people protecting us." Rose said.

"You don't know what my father is capable of doing. I had suspicions about him being my biological father but when I did a DNA test, it came out that he surely is my dad. That man will do anything for money. All those charity works you see him carry out on tv are just for show. I have monitored him for years and he isn't half of who you think he is." Christopher said.

"Ok. You are making me think of different things. Is your father that bad?" Rose asked.

"I don't want to burden you with everything I know but, I want you to allow me to protect you and our child. I want you to permit me to arrange a private team of security guards for you and Princess. I won't be able to take it if something happens to one of you." Christopher said.

"Do whatever you deem necessary. I don't want to endanger our daughter's life In any way but I have a request." Rose said.

"What's that?" He asked her.

"I want you to concentrate more on Princess. Mine is a minor issue," Rose said.

"I am taking measures for the both of you. You are as important as Princess is to me. She is important and around because of you." Christopher said and he could see that Rose was happy with that statement.

"Before I forget, Mrs. Rita has agreed to move into one of the rooms here and she wants to work as a nanny to Princess. She said she doesn't want to be idle and I agreed. Hope that's ok with you?" Rose said.

"Anything you decide is ok with me. I don't have a say. Just do whatever you deem necessary." Christopher said and laid down.

Rose looked at him and quickly averted her gaze, cleared her throat, and said. "I also changed Ene and Blessing's working routine. I hope it's ok with you."

Christopher dragged her and she fell beside him on the bed. She wanted to stand up but, he said. "Just stay. I won't touch you." Rose heard that and stayed where she was. "I just want to stay like this with you. So, now that we have cleared my father's issue can we talk about something else?" He asked.

"Uhm... Sure, let us talk about something else. What do you want to talk about?" Rose asked.

"Anything. We can talk about anything. Don't you have anything you want to talk about?" Christopher asked.

"No. My head is blank. I can't think of anything right now." Rose answered truthfully.

"If we don't have anything to talk about then, we can just enjoy each other's company. Isn't that great!?" Christopher suggested.

"Hmmm," Rose answered.

Christopher waited for her to say something other than hmmm, but she didn't say anything more to that. While lying there, his mind began to create scenarios. He began to imagine what sleeping and waking up beside her will be like. He began to create different images of the things she would wear and how she would look while sleeping. The images his mind was conjuring up were so pleasant that he closed his eyes to picture her better. While he was lost in his world, he didn't notice Rose raising herself on one arm and looking at him. He was so caught up in his world that he didn't know when he let out a smile. Rose who was watching him started to wonder what was making him smile. She wanted to run her finger on his lips but she was being careful. She didn't want him to know what she was thinking about or what she wanted to do so, she just settled with watching him. When Rose thought he had dozed off, she gently and quietly placed a peck on his lips. "That's not how you do it," Christopher said and pulled her back to him, and kissed her. He had wanted to open his eyes when he saw Rose moving her face closer to his. He stayed as still as possible and when she pecked him and wanted to pull away, he wanted more. He pulled her back to himself and deepened the kiss. Rose was shocked at first but gradually relaxed into the kiss. It was a gentle brush of lips against lips at first but, his hand began to act on their own. His hand brushed against her face as he pulled her in for a deeper kiss while his other hand caressed her. From her neck to her waist and back up. Rose whose hands were trapped between his rock-hard chest and hers sighed into the kiss. Christopher swapped their positions and placed Rose beneath him. He wanted to explore her body but his mind was telling him to take it slow. Rose who's hands were finally free took that opportunity to pull him to her. She brushed her hands into his hair and moaned at the feeling she was getting. Everything was kinda new to her but she liked and wanted more. She pulled her hands out of his hair and managed to get them under his shirt.

Her actions caused Christopher to suck in his breath. Her hands were so soft as she explored his naked chest under her hands. She got to his nipple and flicked it in between her fingers. "Stop... Please..." Christopher said out of breathe.

"Why?" Rose asked breathlessly.

Christopher kissed her parted lips and said, "if we don't stop now then I won't be able to stop again. You drive me crazy and I want to do so many things to you but not now."

Rose who was still trying to get herself back together asked. "What if I don't want you to stop? What if I want you to continue?"

Christopher kissed her eyelids and then her nose before saying. "I don't want to stop but I don't want to continue now. I want you as much I can ever want anything but I want it to be special." He said. Rose was about to say something else when they heard a knock on the door. "We'll talk and do more some other time," Christopher promised and kissed her deeply before walking to open the door.

He opened the door and found Mrs. Rita and Princess there. "I am sorry but, she insists on seeing her mom and dad before going to bed. Hope we didn't interrupt anything?" Mrs. Rita said immediately the door was opened.

"Come here baby, thank you, Mrs. Rita. You can go now, we'll take over from here." Christopher said and carried Princess and the into the room.

Rose had managed to arrange her clothes and hair before they got to her but she still looked out of it. "What happened?" She asked.

"Nothing, she just wants to see us before going to bed. Right baby?" Christopher said.

"Yes, I wanted you two to put me to bed," Princess said.

"Ok, let's take you to bed," Rose said and the family of three walked out together.

They put Princess to bed after a while and Rose assisted Christopher in moving some of his things into her room. They moved more than half his things and Rose promised to move the rest of his things another time before they both retired for the night.
