Chapter Seventy Two

She was still feeling good about her new plan when her phone started to ring again. She rushed to the phone and when she saw the caller, her smile disappeared instantly. She debated within herself is she should take the call or not. She eventually summoned the courage and swiped to receive the call before it could stop ringing.

"You are a very useless child!! Oloriburuku!!!" Her father cursed immediately after she received the incoming call. She had to move the phone away from her ear due to the way he shouted. "What has come over you!? I just told you that you shouldn't do anything that will ruin my reputation and it didn't even take you a day to display your stupidity!!! Like mother like daughter!!" He added angrily.

"Am sorry!..."

"You are sorry!?? Do you think sorry will solve anything!! My party chairman just called me and he made me understand that if anything should happen again then, I will not be allowed to run for president next year!!! Will your sorry change that!?" He asked her angrily.

"It was a mistake. I won't do such a thing again!! I was just confused for a while..." Cindy said with a low voice.

"You were confused!? When have you ever done something right!? The simple thing that you should have done!!! You messed it all up! Now, you are telling me you were confused!! When have you never been confused in your life?" Her father asked angrily. If Cindy had been standing in front of him then, he would have slapped some senses into her. That's how angry he was.

"I am sorry dad..."

"Stop saying sorry and do something right for once in your life!! Will your sorry change what you have done!? I can't even suppress that video from spreading. The harder I try to suppress it the more it is going viral!! It's like someone is intentionally spreading your foolishness!" Her father lamented. Immediately he was notified of the video, he tried everything possible to stop it from spreading but all his attempts didn't work.

"I will never take such a step again... I was thinking that if I should go there I will be able to buy public sympathy. I didn't know it will turn out like that!" Cindy explained.

"You wanted to buy sympathy!!? You didn't know it will turn out like that?! Sometimes I ask myself if you are my child!! Why are you so stupid!? The only thing you know how to do is waste money and sleep around like a whore! Just Like your mother!" Her father said. "Is that what you should have done to gain sympathy!? Why will you go to a mall that just opened and is filled with celebrities and news personnel just because you foolishly told yourself that you want to buy sympathy?? Can't you just make a post on your social media handles? You should have even made a decent video and posted it and not gone out to make yourself look desperate and stupid in front of the whole world!! Don't make me regret keeping you with me!!" He added.

"I have said it won't happen again! I was just confused for a moment and that's why I didn't think before acting. I am already working on something that will make a better impact." Cindy said trying to make her father stop cursing at her.

"What plan do you have this time around? Tell me because I don't want to believe you are all grown up and then you go and act like a child again. What plan do you have now!?" Her father asked.

"I was thinking of having her investigated. I think I should be able to find something that will dirty her. That's the first stage of my plan. If I uncover anything that will make her lose the love she is getting, that's when I will make her disappear from Christopher's life just the way she appeared." She said proudly.

"Mtcheeew!!!" Her father hissed loudly. "You are even more stupid than I thought!! Didn't I just explain to you that somebody is working behind and that's why I can't take down the news about you?" Her father asked her.

"You did but what has that got to do with anything!?" Cindy asked with confusion.

"Jesus!!! Is your head filled with sand? Do you think you will be able to harm her by spreading fake news!? Ha!!! Cindy!!! Think with your brain for once in your life, please!!! What you are about to do is stupid and will not yield any result. Besides, I have tried investigating her, and I couldn't find anything meaningful. See eh, just don't do anything again and wait for my order. I will tell you what our next move will be.!" Her father said.

"Okay, dad. I will await your directive." Cindy answered quietly. She was scared of making her dad angrier so she had to agree but she still had the plan of looking for how to shame Rose and make her disappear.

"You better wait and don't do anything stupid. Like mother like daughter!!" Her father said and hissed angrily.

"Dad, !" Cindy called before he could hang up the call.

"What!!"

"Can I ask you for something?" She said cautiously.

"What is it? Hope it's not for me to send you another money?" Her father asked.

"No, it is not for money! When can I meet my mom?" Cindy asked.

"Which mom? How many times with I tell you to stop asking about her? If that's what you want then goodbye!! Don't go and look for how to make money, stay there and be looking for your mother!" He said and hung up the call before Cindy could say anything.

Cindy looked at the phone and felt lost. Why can't she ask for her mother? Is it a crime? For as long as she could remember she has not seen her mother and anytime she inquires, her father had always shunned the topic.
