The Wedding After-party

Lyria's POV:

My heart raced hard, my body shivering as I prayed desperately. I don't want to face the same fate… I don't want to misuse this second chance given to me.

I snapped out of my thoughts at the sound of a punch. When I turned around, Dave was already on the ground.

“Wifey, you are supposed to be with me at the party and not here,” Alpha Azriel's voice echoed. Calm and hoarse like we had been on a good time all this time.

I didn't take my gaze away from Dave. For some reason, this was satisfying. Watching him feel defeated especially given how much he hated defeat.

From the deep frown on his face and how he clenched his hands which were turning pale, I could tell a little bit of what was going on his mind.

I turned around the moment I felt Alpha Azriel locked his hand around mine. I don't know what he was up to, but I walked alongside with him to the after wedding afterparty.

My face brightened the moment we walked into my father's grand living room which I later became a literal slave in after I married Dave. The couch was cleared, no table, all that was happening in the living room were people dancing. Almost half the pack members dancing in excitement.

It's been ages I saw something this vibrant, this amazing. The only time I got to leave the house was when I had to show up as Dave's Luna and when I have to visit the hospital.

This moment brought tears to my face, feeling sad, yet happy.

“Wifey, don't tell me you are crying,” Alpha Azriel's voice snapped me out of my thoughts.

Holding my waist, I raised my gaze to look at him. “Did you regret marrying me?” He asked before I could speak.

“No,” the word tore out of my lip.

“Good,” his hand moved up my waist, his icy blue eyes locking me to the spot. “Let’s dance as husband and wife. Just standing and staring at each other? You would only make rumors about this spread.”

Knowing what he meant, I moved my body slowly even though I no longer knew how to dance. I might have been a dancer but since I gained so much weight…

I snapped out of my thoughts at the way my body was moving, just exactly how I used to dance before I become a slave in my own pack. In my own father's house.

“Every gazes are on us, move your body closer. Dance like we both belong to each other, Wifey,” Alpha Azriel's words made me want to burst into laughter.

He must have forgotten I had not even the slightest feeling for him. He is an arrogant man who is both cunning and would likely to be the most dangerous Alpha in the world five years to come.

He would be known for how he kills without batting an eyelid. He would be known for all the evil things…

“I did not belong to you, Alpha Azriel. You and I both know this marriage was mainly an alliance with our pack,” I whispered into his ears after moving my body closer to him.

Since everyone's gaze were one, I made sure I put up an impressive dance. It might have been hard because of the closeness between I and Alpha Azriel's body but I didn't let that bother me.

After I was done dancing, I let go of him before heading down to the spot my father stood, discussing with the elders of the pack.

“Congratulatoons, Lyria,” Ariana's voice made me halt. “Lyria, I don't know why you suddenly chose Alpha Azriel but just know I would never betray our friendship. You are—”

I burst into laughter at her words. If I hadn't seen the end, how she reacted when I found out of the truth, I would have believed her.

“Betray our friendship? Are we even friends in the first place?” I whispered, making sure I didn't attract anyone's attention to us. “I know you are carrying Dave's pup and you are his fated mate.”

“I swear—”

“Swear to the moon goddess's name and watch her send lightening down your way,” I interrupted her. “Lying bitch!”

This time I am not going to hold back. I am not going to act like the weak and stupid Lyria they all knew.

“Father,” I called out, a part of me trying to recall how he died. I remembered clearly his death was the reason Dave became the pack's Alpha. “Thank you so much for approving of this.”

“Anything for you my dear,” My father said, a bright smile on his face.

Seeing him felt like one of the biggest blessing to me. I remembered how I would cry myself to sleep every time I missed him.

But here he was; alive and standing in front of me.

“Princess Lyria, I was instructed to give you this,” Cassandra's voice snapped me out of my thoughts.

I turned to face her, wondering what gift it was but it was just a glass of wine.

Since I was thirsty, I took the wine from her and gulped it down without questioning who it comes from.

I had no doubt it was from Alpha Azriel. He is obviously standing next to the maid who were attending to everyone's need.

“Princess Lyria, are you okay? You are becoming pale,” Cassandra's words confirmed the weird feeling I had inside me.

My chest tightened, feeling hot wave across my body, my heart racing hard in an unusual way. My throat burns, pain coursing through me.

I pretended to be fine, feigning a faint smile. Unable to try putting up with the pain which I didn't experience on my wedding day before granted this second chance, I hurried into my room.

I took off the gown which now felt like a heavy burden mounted on me. But the pain didn't go away, instead it worsened.

I could hear the sound of my heartbeat in my ears, my body temperature rising at each second that past. My chest tightened, making breathing so hard for me.

Slowly, I felt my body become a heavy load my leg couldn't carry. I fell to the ground before I could try moving to my bed.

Tears streamed down my face as I struggled with the pain which was wrecking me, feeling like life was slowly slipping out of me.

It was as if I was going to die…

Dave's POV“When I said Alpha Azriel was the one behind all of this, poor Lyria said her husband was with her that night,” I paused, staring at the pack's elders who had confirmed the burndown. Now everything is finally falling in place. Too bad Lyria had to force me into doing this.Soon enough, after I get the news of Alpha Xavier's death, I will be the only one eligible to become the pack's Alpha. After all, Alpha Xavier has no son.“I thought she would have at least seen the vivid manipulation. Alpha Xavier almost died on her wedding night,” I paused, faking a tear. “If only she hadn't given in to Alpha Azriel’s deceit and agreed to marry me when as planned, an intruder wouldn't have caused us this much damage.”“Dave, this isn't the time for all this talk. Drop women's talks and let's move ahead. Our pack is weak and we need someone to rule us temporarily until Alpha Xavier wakes up,” Elder Thorne said, already convinced.I am glad I decided to let Lyria go instead of having her

Lyria's POV What in the moon goddess was that? Embarrassment washed over me when I remembered everything I did and how I threw myself at Alpha Azriel. I was clearly not drunk this time, but it just felt different. It was as if I was under some influence, my body going against my own wish. “Luna Lyria, you are awake,” Cassandra's voice snapped me out of my thoughts. “I told you to let the guards follow you, but you didn't agree. You almost die… what could have happened if Alpha Azriel or I wasn't there on time?” Before I could reply, Cassandra continued. “How did you even get there? Who did that to you?” I took in a deep breath, not sure if there was any need to tell her. My father is on the verge of dying, and the least I could do is bring another worry. My number one worry right now is to avoid meeting the same fate like I once did at Dave's hand and finding the one who tried to kill my father. “Cassandra, can you get the car ready? I am visiting the hospital to see how my fa

Dave's POV:“Wait, did you just say you set the house on fire with Lyria in there?” Ariana asked, staring at me like she doesn't know the length I could go.I have come too far to give up on this. The baby in her womb, my pup, would have to be the next Alpha. That was all I have been living for.Being the Gamma's son is something I never wanted! I didn't ask to be born as an Alpha son when I could be the Alpha's heir. The same fate is what I won't let my pup carry.“If her death would make me the next Alpha, why should I hesitate?” I asked, closing the gaps between us.I reached for Ariana's waist, holding her firmly, our body pressed against each other. “Lyria was adamant. She would rather have me whip her to death than marry her.”“But when did she have a change of mind? Everything was going smoothly, babe. Or did you in any way provoked her? She even knew about us—”I did not allow Ariana go on with what we are obviously over. Not when the doctor said she needed not to be stressed

I am not supposed to indulge her.We made the reason we got married clear! And I didn't drive all the way from my pack down to Bluemoon for a five-minute kiss! Definitely not from someone like Lyria. All through the ride, I made sure not to look at her even though I was hearing what sounded like moans and the strong scents from her pheromones pulling me in.It was hard, but I eventually did it.I pulled over in the garage of one of the most secretive hotels. It was the hotel I stayed in on my arrival to the wedding I never knew was going to be mine.I opened the car, then arranged the suit jacket to cover her chest properly. Why is her skin d

Lyria's POV“Since she decided not to change her mind, set the whole place on fire.”My fingers dug into the ground as I recalled the instruction Dave gave earlier. After being flogged mercilessly, my skin bruised and bleeding, I still didn't give in. Not when I knew what my life would be like with him. This second chance given to me – I would rather die than meet the same fate.My heart raced the moment I caught a glimpse of fire through the window, a part of me desperately wishing this isn't how I was going to die. This isn't where I die.I have a father at the verge of death. I have a responsibility as the pack's Luna. I have to look for the person who tried to kill my father. My eyes stung with tears as pain coursed through my body, my heart shattered at the reality I was now facing.Dave was never the man I loved. He had always been a monster who wanted nothing but to marry me, the Alpha's daughter. It only became clear now. After several times trying to crawl out of the building

AZRIEL POV“With the silver wolf you are going to be powerful. Everything you needed would be all yours, Prince Luca.”I halted, standing at the entrance of my brother's room. Since my Beta was out of pack as well, he was the next person in charge.“Look for her! No matter what it cost me, I would pay,” Luca instructed the man who bowed down before turning to leave. He quickly hurried out the moment his gaze met mine. Luca, who just noticed my presence, has his gaze fixed on me.“I heard you got married,” Luca said. “I thought you were going to stay with your wife there since you and your Beta abandoned everyone and the pack’s affair to just me.”“Luca, I didn't abandon the pack,” even though it was of no use explaining to someone who sees me as nothing but a rival, I continued. “We need Bluemoon Pack's money to get everything we needed to sustain this pack. Our strong Gammas and guards won't give us—”“That is all the reason for you to give up, brother!” He half-yelled, staring at me
