CHAPTER FORTY EIGHT: NO GOOD BYE
Kayla’s POV
I squeezed my eyes shut, trying to stop the glare of the sun from disturbing my sleep. Did I forget to close the curtain last night?
When closing my eyes didn’t help, I rolled around to the other side of the bed and hit something warm, a pillow?
I opened my eyes lazily and met amber eyes gazing at me intently. My heart skipped a beat at the sight of my mate looking at me with a tender expression. But then I realised it was just a dream. Well, this was different from my normal nightmares and as tingles spread through my body, I couldn’t tell that I hated waking up to see my mate’s face first thing in the morning. Oh, who was I kidding? It was exhilarating to see him gazing at me with such a loving expression, and I couldn’t help but hope that I would get to wake up to such a sight for real one day…

With my Feral strength, I easily handled the challenges, and that was when I decided that I needed to start searching for the rogue who had escaped the night of the rogue attack.”“I had heard of how there were fifty challengers for your position and how you fought ten of them and even killed one. I always thought it was just an exaggerated tale, but I guess not…” Zane muttered.
