EZRA'S POV

I turned my head sharply and his face was right there. My breath got caught for a few seconds when our eyes met.

It was so close enough that the steam had caught on his glasses slightly, close enough that I could see the detail of his expression, the warmth in it, the precision, and underneath both of those things something that had been sitting there for a long time and was no longer making any effort to hide itself.

He reached up and removed his glasses. Folded them and set them

AUTHOR'S POVRiven stepped forward, "What does that mean? Explain yourself. It's time for what?" He asked them. The guard looked at him patiently, "Lord Arclock has requested Ezra's presence. That's the extent of what I'm authorized to share." "Oh hell no. That's not an explanation." "I believe you must be Riven," the guard looked at the rest of the quad and then back to Riven, "Lord Arclock indicated that your father would understand the instruction so if you have any questions, you should know who to ask for further explanation."The room was completely still. Ezra remained where he was. The papers remained on the floor at his feet where he had thrown them. The guard proceeded to move toward him but Lucien quickly stopped in front of Ezra before the guard had taken two steps. "Don't. Nobody touches him until someone tells us what the hell is happening. I don't care who sent you." "We have authorization from..." "Did you not hear me say I don't care? Authori

EZRA'S POVThe mansion was quiet when I got back and my soul could only happily thank my stars for it. There was no staff movement or sounds from the kitchen. Just complete silence...like everyone had disappeared. I stood at the entrance hall and looked everywhere. My heart was so heavy that for once, I wished to have it out of my body, maybe it would reduce the burden I was feeling. My mind kept going back to the words of Vera before I left the apartment, "I believe there is no other way I can make you see that you mean nothing to these vampires but a tool until you find out yourself. So I encourage you to do that and when you do, come back home. Valden will always be your home, a place where you belong."I walked toward Caelen's study. I didn't plan on doing so initially but my feet just moved and I followed them. I arrived at the door and as usual, it was locked. I stared at it for a moment, feeling something run and vibrate in my veins. Then I did what I had never done to an

  • ICE PRINCES OF HELL: Veins Of The Omega   CHAPTER 173. WHAT WE HIDE.

AUTHOR'S POVDorian knocked once on Caius's office door and came in without waiting for an answer. He walked over to the window, stood by it with his back to the room for a moment, looking at nothing in particular before turning and sitting in the chair across from the desk. Only after that did Caius look up from what he was working on. "How is your project coming up?" Dorian asked him. "Not bad. Needed someone for the second test but right now, the humans are fleeing for their lives. My attempts in getting them to stay have failed woefully so it's currently on hold." Caius sighed and covered the tip of his pen with the cap. He relaxed into his chair and stared at his brother. "What's up?" "How is Dave?" Caius sniffed "Improving." He paused, playing the pen in between his fingers before setting it down. "Aldric's course of treatment has been more effective than either of us expected. The compound is clearing from his system faster now that we've identified the corre

COLE'S POVThe last practice of the session ended very well. I was at least proud of myself for the effort I had put in throughout. We all were tired yet satisfied with how far we had come. We had won the match three days ago. It was a clean win that didn't require much processing afterward because everything had gone the way it was actually supposed to go. Coach had been in a good mood since the day we won, which somehow filtered down through the whole team in a good way as well. The laughter, energy and smiles were unbeatable. "Let's go out for dinner, guys. Bills on me." He had suddenly announced and everyone praised him in the locker room. I loved free food so yes, I was gonna be there. The dinner was at a restaurant two blocks from the rink. The whole team plus the coaching staff sat at a long table and it was a bit noisy. But the people around didn't mind. Even the owner of the restaurant helped in celebrating by playing us some songs for about an hour and we sang along wh

AUTHOR'S POVThe door opened gently, letting Dorian and Caius inside. Caius sighed softly upon seeing the sight. Ezra was curled up into himself. He had managed to move to the bed at some point after sobbing last night. "Hi Ezra," Caius greeted. He went over and kissed the omega's forehead gently. Ezra turned around to look at them. "Are you alright, my love?" Dorian kissed his cheek and helped him sit up against the headboard. Ezra nodded and then looked at the tray. "We brought you breakfast. You didn't eat last night so please eat something." Caius said. Ezra didn't answer. His eyes remained glued to the tray. When Dorian sat beside him, Ezra raised his eyes slowly to look at him. "Do you understand what's happening?" Ezra asked, breaking the silence after sometime. His voice came out rougher than he'd expected. The brothers countenance fell. Ezra must have sobbed so hard last night. Caius sat at the edge of the bed on the other side. He placed Ezra's feet on his

  • ICE PRINCES OF HELL: Veins Of The Omega   CHAPTER 170. WHY HURT THEM?

EZRA'S POVI just laid on my bed. The ceiling of my room had nothing useful to offer but I kept looking at it anyway. I had rejected all of them tonight. This included Lucien's casual suggestion that I come to his room, Riven appearing at my door with no stated reason beyond standing there until I either invited him in or closed the door which I chose to do, Caius sending a message that said simply 'you don't have to be alone tonight ' that I had read three times and not answered. Dorian hadn't said anything but I knew his door was always open. I had said no to all of it and came here and lay on my bed in the dark. After what had happened today in the meeting, I just needed the time alone. My brain was buzzing and my body's temperature had dropped. I was cold and hot at the same time. I sighed heavily and rubbed my face. I thought about two versions of the same history and how neither of them was clean. I was somewhere in the middle of it, trying to figure it all out without a map.

LUCIEN'S POVThree weeks. Nothing.I had never been this worked up over something. How did we manage to lose a simple omega?
