MICAH'S POV

I held the hand of the innocent girl, who was pretending to be Hayden's mate. It was a risky plan, but at this point, I had no other choice. I needed to find my own mate, Lovette, to bring her home and I pray that by bringing the girl to Hayden and pretending she was his mate, I could trick him into sparing my life and letting us go.

As we entered the castle gates, the guards looked at us warily but didn't stop them. I felt a knot in my stomach as we walked down the halls towards Hayden's throne room. I looked around the room with a frown. Hayden and his guards were the only ones in the room.

When they finally reached them, Hayden was sitting on his Throne and i looked around wondering where my mate was.

"Where is my mate?" I asked him, putting on a confident front while his lips turned down. But he said nothing, instead he slowly walked towards us, his eyes locked on the girl who was now shaking in fear with her head down.
