Oh My God! Could it go any more embarrassing than this situation I have tangled me into?
Watching Ethan smirk in front of me was making me go red with embarrassment.
"I don't recall giving you my handkerchief?"

All right, I could take this situation in two ways from now.
First, feign ignorance and second come clean. Since the former sounded way overrated, even in my head, I thought why not go for the second one?
