Enzo’s POV

“Mr DeLuca, you’re up.”

The stupid voice of Sofie’s secretary always managed to annoy me. Perhaps it was due to the extra sweetness she added when she called me, because I was not interested in her in the slightest. It had been eight months, she ought to get the hint by now.

She gave me an unnecessarily huge smile as I walked past her, and I for one, couldn’t even give her a fake one.

“Enzo.” Sophie grinned as soon as I entered her room and closed the door behind me. “Good to see you show up this time.”

I shrugged as I took a seat, “Heard your business was falling behind. Wanted to help in any way I could.”

“How generous of you,” She said, “I hope the long queue outside didn’t bore you. After all, my clinic is struggling.”

I smirked, “I never have to wait as long as that secretary of yours works here.”

“And they say pretty privilege doesn’t exist.” She said, sighing. “How are you doing these, Enzo? The last I heard from you, you were still having those nightmares.”

  • Lost And Found By The Billionaire   296. Dear Cassie

The moment I heard my own words, I regretted it. I had no idea where that came from. I didn’t even mean any of it. But I let anger get to me. I was so tired, frustrated and furious with his behaviour that I could not hold it back anymore. And the worst part was that I was still so angry with him that I made no attempts to rectify my words. A small, sick part of me wanted to see him hurt. I wanted him to realize just how much his words were hurting me, and I hoped that that would make him see the truth. Enzo took a step back, disbelief claiming his face. He did not see that one coming. And just like that, his tough demeanor disappeared. He looked away from me, staring blankly ahead as he processed my words. And that’s when a part of me felt scared. I must have spoken too soon. He was obviously not in the right state of mind to handle something like that. “Enzo…” I finally said, “I didn’t-” “Get out.” I was stunned. “What?” “Get out of my life, Cassie.” he said, “I’m giving yo

Cassie’s POV After a long day, Emmy and I finally got back home. However, as soon as I opened the door, the sight that greeted my eyes made me freeze in my step in utter astonishment. It looked like someone broke into our house. Destruction lay all over, scattered around the floor. “Oh, God.” I mumbled as I stepped inside. “You’re back already?” I heard a low, chilling voice that belonged to my husband. “Thought you were gone for good.” I couldn’t help but gasp at his voice. He was seated by the dinner table, casually reclined in his seat, playing with the broken pieces of the vase on the surface. “Enzo?” I said, wrapping my arm tighter around Emmy. “What the hell happened? Who did this?” “I did it.” he said, tossing the piece away. “Why? You got a problem?” I frowned, my mouth falling open in surprise, “What do you mean? Why did you do this?” “It’s my house.” He said, “I’ll do whatever the fuck I want.” No. This wasn’t him talking. There was something wrong with him. I l

Enzo’s POVIt had to be a fucking joke. Because I’d never heard something so absurd in my entire lifetime. “You might not believe it, but it’s true.” He said. “You’ve got to be living in some delusional world if you think Cassie likes you, Raymond.” I said. “No. The only person who is living in a bubble right now is you.” he said, “I’m sorry you have to find out like this, but this is the truth. Your wife moved on and the only reason she is not telling you that is because she doesn’t want you to go nuts again.” I scoffed, “You honestly expect me to believe that crap?”He shook his head, shrugging. “I don’t expect anything from you. But you came to me with questions, so I'm going to give you the answers. All of them. Because it’s about time you know what’s happening.” He brought his hand up to wipe the blood off his face before looking at me again, “When you went under, Cassie was shattered. She had no idea how to go about with life because she was so heavily dependent on you. She

Enzo’s POV I didn’t have to hear more of the story. I was out of that restaurant in a second, took the first cab I found and headed to his office. As soon as I arrived, I made my way straight toward his office room. I’d visited it so many times in the past that I had it was mapped in my brain, and nobody ever stopped me. But now, things were not the same. An annoying blonde woman that sat outside his office quickly sprang to her feet and rushed to block his door. “Hello, where do you think you’re going?” She said, pushing her arms out to block. “Where does it look like I’m going?” I retorted, giving her a ‘don’t mess with me’ look. She gave me the most tight, fake smile known to mankind, “I’m sorry, but you don’t have an appointment.” She said, “I can’t let you in.” “I didn’t ask for your permission.” I said, and stormed past her. To my annoyance, she managed to rush and stand before me again. This time, she grabbed me by my shoulders to stop me. “Hey, stop!” She said, “I’m go

Enzo’s POV As soon as he came, Mark chugged a glass of water. “Sorry I’m late.” He said, still panting. “And thanks for ordering lunch for me. I’m starving.” It was the first time since I woke up that Mark had given me his appointment to meet. It was hard for me to believe that a man who once used to work for me now needed to look into his calendar to tell me if he could grab lunch with me for an hour. “Your new job is treating you well it seems.” I said, leaning back. “It’s covering my bills.” He said, taking a mouthful of that disgusting sandwich he asked me to order. “I wouldn’t mind the extra cash now that I have a wedding to cover.” My eyes narrowed at him, scrutinising the shy smile that was tugging at his lips. “You proposed?” He nodded, “Just yesterday.” “And she said yes?” He gave me an unimpressed look, “What do you think, Enzo?” I shrugged, “I don’t know. She didn’t run it by me.” “She doesn’t need your permission.” “Sure she does. I’m her brother.” “Exactly.”
