Chapter 14 Ava's Hidden Identity

Maria came walking in with a huge platter full of veggie, crackers, and cheese.  She also brought a whole juice assortment.  Maria is one of a kind.  I told her, "Thank you so much."  Maria smiled and said, "anytime, let me know if you two need anything?"  As she skipped off with a smile.

I looked at Isabella and I apologized to her.  I told Isabella I had wronged her as my best friend.  I left and gave her no explanation to why I did what I did.  She smiled and said, "best friends for life."

I gave Isabella a hug, and started telling her what has happened to me for the past six years.

Six years ago, I came to New York to finish up my internship with a top Tech firm, Innovation.  The internship was only for six months.  After the six months I receieved a really good offer to say aboard.  So, I did.  I had a huge apartment down town and a luxury car.  Isabella said, "what happened, I thought you loved that job?"  I told her I did.

Four years ago, I met Samuel.  I fell deeply in love with him.  I thought he was a just a construction manager, and I didn't want him to feel inferior to me.  So, I hid my identity.  I told Samuel I did not have any family, I was basically was an orphan.  That I had nothing, was just a working class person.  Just like I thought he was. I gave up my huge apartment down town, sold my luxury car and moved in with him.

With only three months of us just dating Samuel popped the question.  We went to the court house and got our marriage license certificate.  I thought I was building a life with him.  I even gave up my job at Innovation.  I got a job as a night cashier.  Then I later got a second job with a small law firm, just to make ends meat.

Isabella has a scowling look on her face like she is really upset.  I asked her if she was alright.  Isabella said, in an irritated voice, "so what you are telling me is that you moved in with this man?"  "And you gave up your life for him, and then you married this man?"

I said, "yes and then no."  Isabella said, "wait I am a bit confused, what part is no?"  Well, with a sad grin on my face, "that isn't the worst part yet."  Isabella scrunched her nose up.  "I found out that the marriage license certificate to Samuel is a fake."  Isabella gave me a wide-eyed look and then gasped as she realized what I was saying.  I think I broke her, hell I am broken about it.

Isabella slowly said, "ok, now what is the worst part?"  With teary eyes I said, "turns out Samuel is a CEO of Wizton Corp. and he is also the eldest heir to Wizton family, and he is a billionnaire.

On Monday I saw him kissing another woman.  Isabella gasped and said, "so he lied to you and then betrayed you as well."  "What else has this son-of-bitch done to you?"

Well, papa told me that he lives in a penthouse on the upper eastside of the city.  The apartment that I was living in with him, is owed by Wizton Corp.  Isabella said, "wait, he lives in a penthouse all this time, while you lived in that run-down apartment, that his own company owns?"

I shook my head yeah.  Isabella said, "how was that possible?"  I said, "well, I thought he was a construction manager that traveled for work."  "So, Samuel was never home, only few days out of a month."

By the looks of Isabella, she was furious, like she could spit nails.  "So, what you are telling me is this so called man, moved you into his shitty apartment, that his own company owns."  "Then had you thinking you were married to him for four years."  "He is the eldest heir to the Wizton family, plus he is the CEO of Wizton Corp."  "And finely on Monday you caught him kissing another woman."  I said, "that is correct!"

Isabella smiled at me and said, "what time is it, we need alcohol?"

I laughed, an actual laugh.  I said, "Isabella you just got here, you are probably jet-legged."  Plus, I don't have anything to wear to a night club."  Isabella frowned.  I said, "let's table the alcohol until Friday, I will reserve a private room at the Solar Star for us."

I smiled because I knew she would like this next part.  I told her then we can go shopping tomorrow.  Oh my goodness, Isabella squealed.  She said, "I cannot wait to take you shopping, it has been years."
