Chapter 105

She smacks her forehead with her hand, “why can’t you people just sit still? An operation is not necessary” Franny chips in “then how do you intend to get a piece of their hearts? Will it out of their chests?” she rolls her eyes “precisely! But again, why are you here? You’re in no way helpful” “who are you to talk to me like that! You’re just a warrior, not even from our pack!” “SILENCE!”

Franny steps back “it’s fine, I mean she’s not wrong but do you mind having her leave the room, I need to focus, everyone except you and her” she points towards one of the under grads that just came from studying. “You all heard her, please do as she says”  they file out of the room she then takes the mixture and puts it into four bowls “what’s your name sweet pea?” she blushes “Miranda” “okay Miranda, I’m Red now I need you to work with me, I can see you have the healing touch and your quite sharp, let’s clean our hands first and then follow what I do okay?”

“Okay” I watch them clean their hands “you too King Tyler” “me?” “yes, you have to help as well” “o-okay then” I do as I’m told “okay guys, this stuff is going to taste like everything that’s wrong with the world but there’s no helping it” they both take spoons and feed them a spoonful and a half “okay Mira, dip your ring finger into the mixture and copy what I do”

Red works and Miranda follows her with effortless flow “okay Alpha, you’re up soon, Cory, Astrid you’re going to feel something coming up your throat please don’t fight it, let it come up and out and Alpha get it into the mixture, crush it then feed it to their respective mates”

Cory was first, I caught it and did as Red said “Tilt her head back to open her throat put all of it in then raise her slightly so it can go down her throat” I do as I’m told and it all goes down, then repeat it with Astrid and Carson “okay dear, heal them up then we can put them by their mates”

A soft warm glow emits from Miranda’s hands as she touches Cory and Astrid “all done” “beautifully done Miranda thank you and be sure not to let everyone know you have the healers touch, it could be as dangerous as it is great”

She smiles and nods at Red, Astrid and Cory slide off the bed and gets up in bed with their mates “put yourself in a heart to heart position to form the connection and your mates should be good to go by later or in the morning at latest”.

"Will this really work?" "of course it will, just ensure no one else gives them any medication or any other treatment, because mixing it will make them cough up blood and worsen their state, so do stick close to them until they've awoken okay, this point in time is very, very crucial to their recovery and it will also solidify your bonds"

Both Astrid and Cory nods then snuggle into their mates embrace, it may not be the right time for these kinds of feeling but I am jealous, so damn jealous as I look at them cuddled with their mates, I feel eyes on me when I turn to see her looking at me as though analysing me, looking at them then back up at me but she doesn't say anything to me.

"Miranda, can I trust you not to tell anyone of how we healed them? just say you followed my instructions and can't remember, however if there ever comes a time when this has to be done again, please make me proud, the reason I'm asking you to keep it to yourself is because others may feel they can do it too and may end up hurting their patients more than they help them and I most certainly don't want anyone doing anything half assed claiming it to be healing" "I understand and my lips are sealed"

She turns to me "my part is done, am I free to go, I need to get some rest for my training shift later" "ahh yes okay, you're both dismissed" she turns on her heels and dashes from the room like it was on fire.

"Where are you going in such a hurry?" I call after her as she steps into the elevator and I join her "I'm about to go see my guys, Joao found his mate!" "the Alpha's son?" "yeah, I'm so happy for him!" I step closer to her and she swallows hard looking up at me "don't you ever feel jealous or lonely? looking at those around you finding their other halves while you're just there carrying on?"

"No, I can't say I have" "how can you be so carefree Red?" "because I've spent too much time caring about what others think in my past which caused me more pain so I decided to stop and start living for me, not for those around me or for what is expected of me"

She bites her lip and I feel my eyes darken and the mood shifts, I was just about to caress her face when the elevator door opened and she rushed out, why does she keep running from me.
