Beau

" Hey Beau, you coming to Renes' party later?"

" Of course not, I've got exams this week, why the hell would I go partying Kirk? and by the way, you also have exams this week, why are you going partying?"

" Ugh, why are you such a kill joy Beau? all you do is study, train, eat and sleep, loosen up will you! have fun! we are in college, these are the best years of our lives! go wild! liveeeeee! " he rolls his eyes at me " it's like talking to brick wall "

" Back at you Kirk, let's go to the study hall and forget about the party " he grumbles but follows after me, Kirk is the Alpha to be of another pack, this college is open to all were-kind who wishes to attend, there's even scholarship programs offered so the less fortunate can attend, of course those scholarships come with some sort of stigma as the rich and wealthy look down on them for whatever reason.

I probably would have been one of them on scholarship had it not been for my father and uncle, my uncles Beta decided to step down, he was happy when my dad came back and took the opportunity to hand the reigns back over to him to go traveling with his mate, they did not have a pup yet and have never gone very far from the pack and given that my father has travelled in search of my mother and me it seemed only fair.

He accepted his role from the Beta and got right into the groove of it, his first task was to truly get the ball rolling for me to go to college, we even plan to visit my family when college closes after exams, I told him he doesn't have to but he wants to thank my mom and dad for taking me and looking after me even though they didn't have to and when he wasn't able to.

He should not feel guilty but for some reason he does, it was not him who abandoned me, it was my mother, although none of know knows the reason why she ran away with me or gave me away, it was still her doing as my father and uncle says her actions came out of nowhere, and the fact that he's been looking ever since shows how much he wanted us, wanted me.

I wish I could get answers from her, figure out why she did what she did, and rather than leaving me with our kind, why give me to humans? to grow up alone surrounded by people I can not relate to and feel so utterly alone, apart of me thinks she must of had her reasons or perhaps it was a case of desperate times call for desperate measures but the other part of me feels slightly resentful, I missed so much time with my dad, with my real family, being in the pack has very quickly given me a sense of completion and a feeling of belonging which you feel in the core of your being.

Now that I have my wolf, it's like I'm never truly alone ' nope, not alone, even when you want to be, you're stuck with me just like I'm stuck with you ' I chuckle to myself.

Kirk and I get to study hall and take an empty table, I fire up my laptop and he does the same and we silently commence our studies until lunch time.

We walk to the lunch room, making small talk and laughing when we're stopped by Rene and her posse. '' Hi Kirk, hey Beau, see you guys later? " Kirk looks at me hopeful I roll my eyes " sorry Rene but we've got exams coming up and need to study, especially this airhead next to me, perhaps next time" " come on guys, live a little, after all you only live once as the humans say, why not make it great? "

" Well I'm not sure about you but I live everyday and it's been going pretty good thus far, perhaps throw your party at a more convenient time if you really want us to come " I don't mean to be harsh or make her feel bad but I just don't like when people try to guilt you into things or situations you're not okay with, that's really not cool at all.

She blushes in embarrassment "you make it sound as though I'm leading others to the stake or something Beau " " enjoy your party Rene " I'm so damn hungry. I continue on to the cafeteria, I get in line with Kirk behind me talking his life away with some shewolf, I order Two steaks, some mashed and steamed vegetables then get a drink from the soda machine and head to my usual table to sit down.
