Chapter 8

Howard and Lily were chatting happily when they suddenly felt a strong sense of oppression.

Howard raised his head immediately. Suddenly, a shocked expression formed on his face. He looked at the man beside their table and asked, “President Moore, why did you come over?”

He had only seen Skyler Moore twice. He did not expect Skyler to recognize him.

He stood up immediately. He was at a loss for where to place his hands and legs. “President Moore, are you here for dinner as well?”

Jocelyn had yet to return to her senses. Skyler was here to have dinner too?

Skyler glanced at Howard and moved his calm gaze onto Lily’s face. He smiled faintly and said, “I’m here to look for this young lady.”

Lily instantly blushed and got up. “President…President Moore, do we know each other?”

Skyler spoke to her in an amused tone, “This young lady feels like an old friend of mine. We must be fated!”

Lily lowered her head shyly as she blushed and her heart raced. She could not help but steal a glance at Skyler. “I…I think that I’m fated to meet you as well, President Moore!” She said in an extremely nervous tone.

Skyler hummed lowly and told his assistant, who was standing behind him, “Since we’re fated to meet, can you help me order a cup of green tea for this young lady? It’s my treat!”

As soon as Skyler finished speaking, he cast a long and meaningful glance at Jocelyn. He then looked at Lily again. “We’ll meet again.”

After that, he turned around and left quickly.

Jocelyn was stunned. She suddenly understood the implication behind the cup of green tea.

If the occasion was not inappropriate, she would have burst out into laughter at the very next second.

It was a pity that Howard and Lily seemed not to understand what Skyler was trying to imply.

As soon as Howard sat down, he looked at Lily anxiously. “Lily, do you really not know President Moore? He seemed to be giving you special treatment! If you manage to get on his good side, our path ahead will be full of prosperity!”

Lily blushed and shook her head. “I don’t know. This is my first time meeting President Moore, but…He seemed to be giving me special treatment. Perhaps my looks match his preferences!”

Jocelyn could not bear to look at the gleeful expression on Lily’s face.

After dinner, Jocelyn received a text from Skyler.

[Skyler Moore: Come to the hotel that we were at yesterday!]

Jocelyn walked out of the restaurant and bid farewell to both of them.

As soon as she got into the car, she took out her phone and clicked into the interface that showed the recordings of the pinhole camera that she had placed at her office desk.

Someone had sneaked into the design department and stolen the backup copy of the design draft that she had locked in the drawer of her office desk at half-past six in the evening.

Jocelyn laughed sarcastically. As expected, she understood these two people extremely well!

However, if she did not understand them so well, she would not have been able to execute her plan so smoothly!

As soon as Jocelyn rushed to the hotel and entered the room, Skyler wrapped his arms around her.

Skyler leaned his forehead on her shoulder and spoke to her in a low voice, “You smell really good.”

Jocelyn could not help but blush once again. “Skyler…Moore, wait a minute. I need to do something!”

Skyler raised his head and looked at her silently. “What did you call me?”

Jocelyn blushed as she spoke in a rather guilty tone, “Hus…husband!”

Skyler laughed out lightly and asked, “Hus…husband?”

Jocelyn closed her eyes and blushed as she called out stubbornly, “Husband!”

Skyler’s good-looking lips curled up into a smile. “I like the sound of that. I’ll give you a gift in return!”

As soon as Skyler finished speaking, he handed Jocelyn a USB drive. He then went to take a bath.

Jocelyn’s gaze flashed as she stared at his silhouette. She opened the bag that she had brought with her today and took out her laptop. She then stuck the USB drive into the laptop.

After that, she saw a video of the restaurant that she had eaten in together with Lily and Howard.

In the next part of the video, three of them were chatting while Lily and Howard were playing footsie under the dining table.

Jocelyn burst out into laughter straight away. She finally understood the reason why Skyler had ordered a cup of green tea for Lily!

After Jocelyn finished laughing, she immediately opened the registration site for Starlight Jewelry Competition. She then submitted the design draft that she had scanned a long time ago onto the site.

The judging period of the Starlight Jewelry Competition and Century Jewelry Competition, which was organized by Prosperity Organization, would begin tomorrow.

Although Starlight Jewelry Competition was not as well known as the latter, all the review processes of both competitions were open and transparent.

Meanwhile, this was what Jocelyn was looking for!
