The Citadel was unlike anything Elara had ever imagined. Built into the side of a jagged sea cliff, the fortress was a marvel of glass, steel, and ancient stone. As the sun began to rise over the ocean, the building seemed to glow like a diamond.

Inside, Elara was swept into a world of quiet luxury. While her brothers retreated to a war room to discuss "security," she was handed over to a team of kind-eyed women who treated her with a reverence that made her want to hide.

"Please, you don't have to do all this," Elara whispered as she was led into a bathroom the size of a small house. The tub was carved from a single piece of black marble, filled with steaming water that smelled of jasmine and honey.

"Nonsense, Lady Elara," a woman named Martha said gently. She was a middle-aged wolf with a motherly scent. "You are a Thorne. You’ve been away from your throne for far too long. Today, we wash away the Ashwood dust."

As the warm water soothed her aching muscles, Martha and the others began the "makeover." It wasn't just about beauty; it was about restoration. They used rare oils to heal her cracked skin and tonics to bring the shine back to her hair.

While they worked, Martha began to tell her the story she had been longing to hear.

"Your father was the Great Alpha Alaric," Martha explained as she brushed out Elara’s long, damp hair. "The Obsidian Pack didn't just rule territory; we protected the balance of all packs. But fifteen years ago, a coalition of jealous Alphas betrayed us. They attacked at night. Your mother, Luna Elena, knew they were after the children. She didn't have time to reach your brothers, so she gave you to a trusted human servant to hide you in the human world."

Elara looked at her reflection in the mirror. She looked different. The hollows in her cheeks were fading, and her eyes once dull with sadness were starting to spark with a faint, silvery light.

"My mother..." Elara’s voice caught. "She died for me?"

"She died a Queen," Martha said firmly, placing a soft, silk robe around Elara’s shoulders. "And she left a Queen behind. Your brothers spent a decade rebuilding our strength. They turned our grief into an empire. Now, they are the most powerful men in the supernatural world. And they’ve been waiting for you to complete the circle."

Back at the Ashwood Pack, the atmosphere was much darker, though Alpha Valerius refused to admit it.

The morning after the Moon Festival, the village square was being cleaned. Valerius stood on his balcony, overlooking his lands. He felt a strange, nagging emptiness in his chest, the ghost of a bond that had been severed but he pushed it down with a glass of bourbon.

"Alpha?"

Valerius turned to see his Enforcer, a burly man named Gareth, looking uneasy.

"What is it?" Valerius snapped.

"The Omega... Elara. She didn't return to the servants' quarters to pack her things. In fact, no one has seen her since she ran into the woods last night."

Valerius felt a brief flicker of cold fear in his gut. The woods were dangerous, and while he had rejected her, the thought of her blood on his land felt like a bad omen. But then, he thought of Lyra’s smile and the power he had gained by choosing a stronger mate.

He let out a dry, mocking laugh. "She probably crawled into a hole to die of shame, or perhaps she finally realized she’s a burden and left for the human cities. Good. The bad omen has finally washed herself away."

"But Alpha," Gareth hesitated, "the border patrol reported something strange. They saw high-end vehicles near the north ridge last night. Armored SUVs. We don't recognize the markings."

Valerius stiffened, his hand tightening on his glass. SUVs? On his border? That was human technology, but only the wealthiest packs used it.

"Probably lost tourists or a billionaire looking for a hunting lodge," Valerius dismissed, though his heart began to drum a frantic rhythm against his ribs. "Nobody knows she’s gone, and frankly, nobody cares. She was a nameless Omega with no wolf. Who would come for her?"

He turned back to the view, trying to ignore the way the air felt suddenly heavy, as if a storm was brewing just over the horizon.

"Don't waste my time with reports on a stray," he growled. "She’s gone. Ashwood is finally pure."

Back at the Citadel, the makeover was complete.

The heavy oak doors of the drawing room opened, and the four Thorne brothers stood up as one. They had traded their tactical gear for tailored suits that cost more than the entire Ashwood Packhouse.

Elara stepped into the room. She was wearing a gown of midnight blue silk that flowed like water. Her hair hung in soft waves, and for the first time, she was wearing the Thorne crest, a silver wolf head on a delicate chain around her neck.

Finn whistled, a wide grin on his face. "Now that looks like a Thorne."

Orion stepped forward, adjusting his glasses as he looked at her with a professional eye. "Her color is returning. The malnutrition is being reversed."

Ryker, however, remained silent. He walked toward Elara, his heavy boots echoing on the marble. He stopped in front of her, his silver eyes searching hers. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a small, velvet box.

Inside was a ring a raw, uncut obsidian stone set in white gold.

"This belonged to our mother," Ryker said, his voice low and solemn. "She wore it as a symbol of her authority. Now, it belongs to you."

He slid the ring onto her finger. It fit perfectly.

"Elara," Ryker said, looking at his brothers and then back to her. "Valerius thinks you are a ghost. He thinks the world has forgotten you. Tomorrow, we are going back to Ashwood."

Elara’s heart skipped a beat. "Back? But they’ll kill me."

"No," Silas said from the corner, his eyes glinting with a dark, predatory intelligence.

"They won't even be able to look you in the eye. We aren't going back to beg, Elara. We’re going back to collect your things... and to show Valerius exactly what kind of 'bad omen' he just unleashed upon himself."

Ryker nodded. "The world is about to find out that you aren't just a sister. You are the Luna of the Obsidian Pack. And God help anyone who stands in our way."

  • Meet my Overprotective Brothers    Chapter 54: The Chattered Archive

The geometry of the cottage was no longer a physical law; it was a dying suggestion. As the Southern Light-Binders hammered the exterior with pillars of concentrated noon, the dimensional fold of Rowena’s library began to leak. Shelves of dark mahogany groaned, twisting like scorched paper. Gravity became a chaotic, shifting thing, ink from shattered jars flowed upward toward the starlit ceiling, while heavy stone busts of long-dead Thorne kings drifted through the air like autumn leaves. “The house is venting its mass!” Silas screamed over the roar of the implosion. He clutched a shelf to keep from being pulled toward a growing rift in the far corner where the walls were simply dissolving into a violet-black vacuum. “If we stay, we aren’t just dying we’re being erased from the timeline!” Ryker was a whirlwind of indigo smoke, his broadsword clashing against the glowing spears of the Southern Light-Binders who had breached the library.

  • Meet my Overprotective Brothers    Chapter 53: The Echo of the Spire

The air inside the marble cottage didn't behave like air outside. It was stagnant, tasting of centuries-old dust and the sharp, metallic tang of ozone, a scent that reminded Elara of the moments before a lightning strike. As the threshold dissolved, the siblings stepped not into a home, but into a dimensional fold. From the outside, the cottage had been a modest stone structure; inside, it was a cavernous library that seemed to stretch infinitely, spiraling upward into a dark, starlit void. Shelves of dark mahogany groaned under the weight of glass artifacts, scrolls bound in human hair, and jars that pulsed with trapped, flickering light.“This isn't a cottage,” Silas whispered, his voice trembling as he ran a finger over a shelf. He pulled a heavy, leather-bound volume from its place. “This is a vault of timelines. Rowena didn't just hide secrets; she hid the evidence of everything she failed to fix.”The brothers moved with a frantic, possessive ener

  • Meet my Overprotective Brothers    Chapter 52: The Green Abyss

Chapter 57: The Green AbyssThe transition from the Solaris to the coast of the Southern continent was a physical "face-slap." The air on the ship had been recycled, ozone-heavy, and biting with Northern frost. But the moment the longboat scraped against the silt of the Green Abyss, the humidity hit the Thorne siblings like a wet woolen blanket. The jungle didn't just grow; it screamed with life. The trees were massive, silver-barked pillars wrapped in bioluminescent vines that pulsed with a rhythmic, sickly green light. It was a "Mana-Reactive" environment; the flora fed on the residual magic of any traveler passing through.“I can’t see the sky,” Ryker grunted, his hand instinctively going to the hilt of his massive broadsword. He looked profoundly out of place, his heavy wolf-fur cloak already sodden with sweat, his leather armor creaking under the oppressive heat. He looked back at Finn, who was pale and wide-eyed, clutching a small Northern dagger. “Fin

  • Meet my Overprotective Brothers    Chapter 51: The Storm and the Sentinel

The Solaris was not just a ship; it was a hungry, shifting thing. Constructed of Void-Glass and anchored by the residual magic of the First King, it felt less like a vessel and more like a limb of Elara’s own body. As the ship cut through the dark, churning waters of the Southern Straits, it didn't sail; it prowled.Following the revelation of the Silver Mirror, the atmosphere inside the Great Hall had curdled into something suffocating. The brothers, Ryker, Silas, and the newly returned, golden-eyed King Alaric were huddled around the central console, their focus divided between the map and the man standing just outside the circle: Caleb. The Solaris had been born of trauma. When Elara had first "consumed" the Southern dreadnoughts during the Siege of the Iron Coast, she hadn't just changed their material; she had anchored them to her own heartbeat. Now, weeks later, the ship reacted to her moods. When she was cold, the bulkhead frost bloomed into jagged obsidia

  • Meet my Overprotective Brothers    Chapter 50: The Silver Mirror

The silence following the destruction of the Light-Fortress was louder than the explosion itself. On the deck of the Solaris, the only sound was the rhythmic thrum of the Void-Glass hull and the ragged, salt-crusted breathing of the survivors.Elara lay on the deck, her white wolf-fur cloak soaked through with black seawater and silver mercury. Her hands were still smoking from the Sun-Lock, the skin charred in a way that should have been agonizing, yet she felt nothing but a hollow, freezing numbness. The "fight" was over, but the atmosphere on the ship had shifted into something far more dangerous: the awakening of the Thorne brothers’ protective instincts.Ryker was the first to move. He didn't check the horizon for retreating Southern ships. He didn't give orders to the crew. He moved toward Elara with the heavy, inevitable stride of a mountain coming to life.“Don’t touch her!” Ryker roared at a Southern sailor who had stepped forward to

  • Meet my Overprotective Brothers    Chapter 49: The Drowning Vault

The ocean didn't just flood the chamber; it claimed it.When the sea-wall shattered, the sound was less like water and more like a mountain collapsing. A wall of black, freezing brine erupted into the laboratory, a kinetic force that smashed the gold-leafed machinery into scrap metal.“Elara, go!” Caleb’s voice was a desperate roar, barely audible over the thunder of the rushing tide.Elara looked at the lead-lined vault in the corner. Her father’s words echoed in her mind: The Mother’s Key. If that box stayed here, her mother’s secrets and perhaps the only way to silence Aethelred would be lost to the abyss forever.“Take him!” Elara screamed back, her silver eyes flaring into incandescent violet. She shoved her father into Caleb’s arms. “Get him to the shaft! I’m right behind you!”She didn't wait for his protest. She dove. The water was a physical weight, thick with the "Sun-Oil" and chemicals of the shattered lab. Ela

The interior of the Obsidian SUV was a silent sanctuary of black leather and the scent of expensive sandalwood. Outside, the smoke from the Ashwood servants' wing rose into the sky, a signal fire marking the end of Elara’s life as a victim. Beside her, little Mina had
