Natasha paced back and forth in her room, biting her nails. She was still in shock after what had happened at the church.

Everything had unfolded too suddenly.

The ceremony had barely begun before chaos broke out.

She stopped walking for a moment, her heart beating faster as the scene replayed in her mind.

Her mind was filled with Domenico’s handsomeness and Emilio’s calmness.

Something was unsettling about the two of them for sure, but Natasha didn’t care whether they were dangerous or not.

All she knew was that they were powerful enough to walk into a church full of Giovanni’s men and stop him without hesitation.

“Why?!” Natasha clenched her fists. “I was finally able to push that slut into the hell she deserved! Then who the hell was he to take her away!?”

She continued pacing around the room angrily, her heels hitting the floor with force.

Everything had been perfectly planned.

Renata was supposed to marry Giovanni, and after that, her life would have been ruined forever.

Natasha had waited so long for that moment.

And now it was all gone.

“Will you stop pacing around the room?” Luisa said, pinching between her brows. “It’s making me dizzy.”

“Really, Mom?” Natasha glared at her mother. “How can you be so calm?” Her chest rose and fell with frustration. “We lost our golden opportunity and the open source of money!”

“Do you think I don’t know that!” Luisa snapped, gritting her teeth. She had been just as pleased when Renata was finally trapped in their hands. Everything had been going exactly the way they wanted.

But who would have thought that girl had somehow hooked up with a mafia… and not just any mafia, but the very man whom the whole country was scared of.

Natasha’s face twisted with anger as she clenched her fists again. “Out of all the people in this world… why him?”

“Madam! Young Miss!”

They were still talking when the door suddenly burst open and a maid rushed inside.

“Can’t you knock before entering?!” Natasha bellowed, glaring at her angrily.

The maid lowered her head immediately, breathing heavily.

“Forgive me, but… but Mr. Giovanni… he is here!” she said between breaths, clearly panicked.

“What?” Luisa stood up at once, surprise flashing across her face as she exchanged a quick look with Natasha.

“What is he doing here now?” Natasha muttered under her breath, her brows knitting together.

“Let’s go and see,” Luisa said quickly, already moving toward the door.

The maid stepped aside and bowed her head deeply, relieved that she had delivered the message without being punished.

But Natasha was still in a foul mood.

As she walked past, she shoved the maid hard with her shoulder.

The maid staggered to the side but didn’t dare say a word, keeping her head lowered as the two women walked out of the room.

“Dad!” Natasha screamed the moment she rushed into the living room.

The sight in front of her made her stop abruptly.

Her father was on his knees in the middle of the room as two guards stood beside him, their guns pointed directly at him.

Natasha’s heart dropped.

Across from him, Giovanni was sitting comfortably on the couch, his left leg resting over the right as if he owned the place.

He looked completely relaxed as if this were a casual visit.

“Here you are, darling,” Giovanni said slowly when he saw Natasha.

His eyes slid over her figure before he licked his lips disgustingly.

Natasha felt a chill run down her spine.

“Mr. Giovanni, what is the meaning of all this?” Luisa asked quickly as she rushed forward and grabbed her husband’s arm, helping him to his feet.

Her voice tried to stay polite, but the tension was obvious.

“Can you ask your guards to lower their guns, please?” she added carefully.

Giovanni didn’t answer immediately.

Instead, he leaned back on the couch and watched them with amusement, as if enjoying their panic.

The guards didn’t move, and Natasha swallowed nervously.

“You not only deceived me, but you also took a hefty amount from me,” Giovanni said slowly, his gaze fixed on Luisa. “Don’t you think, Mrs. Neroni?”

“I… I…” Luisa stuttered, unable to form a proper sentence.

Her eyes shifted nervously toward Paolo.

Paolo’s face had turned dark with humiliation. The veins in his neck stood out as anger burned in his eyes.

“You took money from him…” Paolo said through clenched teeth.

Before Luisa could react, he grabbed her wrist tightly.

“And I wasn’t even informed?” His grip tightened painfully.

“How dare you go behind my back and do something like that!” he shouted, shaking her arm. “When I was struggling for funds!”

Luisa winced in pain as his fingers dug into her wrist.

“I… I did it for the family,” she tried to explain weakly.

“For the family?” Paolo laughed bitterly.

“You took money from him and didn’t think to tell me?”

Giovanni watched the scene unfold with anger, but he didn’t like being ignored.

“Enough!” Giovanni suddenly rose to his feet, the single word cutting through the room, making the argument stop instantly.

He slowly straightened his clothes. “You all deceived me,” he said coldly

His eyes moved from Paolo to Luisa and then briefly to Natasha.

“And tried to bind me with a pregnant woman.”

Luisa’s face turned pale.

“And now…” Giovanni continued, his tone turning colder, “I would like you to make amends and compensate me.”

“Ye… yes,” Luisa replied immediately, nodding nervously.

“I… I’ll return the money.” Her hands trembled as she quickly took out her phone. “I’ll transfer it to you right now.”

But before she could unlock the screen, Giovanni raised his hand.

“Stop.”

The command in his voice froze her in place.

Luisa slowly lowered the phone, confusion flickering across her face.

“That’s not the kind of compensation I want,” Giovanni said as a slow, unsettling smile appeared on his face.

“I want your daughter as per your promise!” He announced his demand as he walked toward Natasha.

“How… How could that happen now?” Luisa stammered. “That mafia had taken Reneta and…” She was still speaking when Giovanni cut her off.

“You don’t have only one daughter, do you?” He said as he held Natasha’s hand and pulled her toward himself. “Since I can’t have the woman I lost my heart to…” he continued as he ran his hands around Natasha’s back as she struggled to get away from him. “I can just have a substitute and have her as my wife!”

“Wh… What!?”

After leaving Renata’s room, Domenico paused in the hallway and turned toward the head butler, who had been waiting nervously nearby. The older man straightened immediately, sensing that another order was coming.“Send nutritious meals to her room,” Domenico instructed. His eyes briefly shifted toward the closed door behind him before returning to the butler. “And make sure she eats.”The butler nodded quickly, but Domenico was not finished.“If she refuses,” he added slowly, “you will be punished.”The words were spoken without anger, yet they carried the threat that left no room for misunderstanding. For a moment she simply sat there, frozen, unsure of what to say or how to face him.“Speak,” Domenico said in a commanding tone. His hand remained wrapped around her neck, not tight enough to choke her but strong enough to remind her that she could not simply walk away. “Why are you silent now?”Renata swallowed hard before forcing the words out. “I was forced to walk down that aisle,” she said, her voice shaking despite her effort to stay composed. Her lips quivered as the memories of the church returned, and her eyes slowly filled with tears.“Do you really think I wanted to marry that disgusting old man?
