Mag-log inLilian's POV.
“I thought you said he was asleep!” I whisper-yelled, dread running through my spine at the thought of him catching us in here.
After wearing my clothes, I pressed a trembling hand against my lips, wondering my next line of movement.
“Leon! I know you're awake! Open the door!” Cole's voice came again.
I felt a rush of adrenaline as I ran back and forth, unsure of what to do. Leon's gaze moved between the door and me, repeatedly.
“Fuck, what are we going to do?” I asked, my voice trembling.
“Under the bed, right now!” Leon ordered, his voice barely above a whisper.
I dropped down to the floor, laying on my chest as I slid myself in there. I had fear of darkness but at this point, I'd rather stay under here than allow Cole see what we were doing.
“Leon! This is important! Don't make me open this door on my own!” Cole threatened.
“Hold on already! I'm getting it,” Leon finally replied.
I couldn't see his full body from here but I could see Leon running from his study table to the couch, almost like he was trying to clean up the traces.
Then the air in the room became tainted with perfume as Leon sorayed a good enough amount. After that, he rushed to get the door.
“Man, can I know why you're requesting to see me in the middle of the night?” Leon immediately asked as Cole walked in.
Seeing Cole's leg from under made fear slither down my spine so much that I couldn't even blink. I breathed so carefully that you'd think he was going to catch me from the mere sound of breathing.
“You're the one who's more familiar with how to respond to formal texts. Remember the scholarship letter contest for Harvard that you helped me write? Well, I passed the first stage. The second stage requires me to talk about my other dreams outside schooling at the university. So I was hoping you could help me with that,” Cole declared, dropping his weight against the bed.
His legs were literally dangling in the air, in front of me. My eyes widened as fear shot through me, making my entire body stiff.
Oh God, for how long was he going to be here? And for how long was I going to have to stay in here?
“Can't we do that tomorrow? I mean, I'm free tomorrow,” Leon suggested.
“No Leon. I'd received the mail five days ago. I didn't see it until now, and it's due tomorrow. So we have to write it tonight,” Cole explained.
My heart was still racing as I laid stiffly under there. Maybe, just maybe Leon could be really fast with this and I'd be out of this place.
Holding that thought, I crosssed my hands over each other on the cold floor, placing my head on it. I took steady breaths, trying to calm myself down.
“Shit. Alright, let's get to it,” Leon declared and I felt Cole rise from the bed.
That sent a small wave of relief through me.
However, when they got to the study table, I heard Cole's voice again.
“Why does it smell weird in here? Almost like–”
“Oh my God,” Leon cut him off, sliding a hand down his face.
“What? I'm just saying,” Cole said.
“It doesn't smell weird. It's just a mixture of perfumes in here. I really don't want to explain anything so can we please get on to the letter?” Leon asked, already sounding tired before starting.
“Sure. So what do you want to know as you write?” Cole asked, pulling a seat towards the study table.
Leon pulled his laptop from his drawer, the sounds of keys being touched echoing through the room.
Cole on the other hand, was drumming his fingers onbthe study table. If only he knew what had just happened there, he'd probably not be touching it so much.
Over the next few minutes, both guys exchange words on what to write and what not to write. It wasn't like Cole didn't know what to write, he was just lazy.
If he wasn't smart enough in high school, his grades wouldn't be considered at Harvard. He was trying this scholarship for fun, hence the triviality.
The atmosphere grew thin with tension but I was still feeling scared. I wasn't sure how long these guys have spent in here but my eyelids were beginning to grow heavy. I wanted to sleep but it had never been my thing to sleep in darkness, except someone was with me.
As I turned my head from side to side, my intrusive thoughts kicked in.
What if there was something dangerous under this bed? Or worse cockroaches and insects?
What if the floor cracks and I fall?
A lot of crazy thoughts started running through my mind. My heart began palpating with fear, my body trembling slightly to the thought.
“Yeah, the last part should be about sports. I think you should add swimming and football. After that, we can send it in,” Cole declared and a wave of relief washed through me.
Just few more minutes, few more minutes and this would be over. I didn't stop looking around me, checking if I wasn't being attacked by anything.
As seconds dragged into minutes, Cole and Leon rounded up the letter and he was finally about to leave. That was when I felt something slither up my legs. My heart stopped for a second and the next thing I did was scream.
Cole halted in his tracks, particularly because of the sound.
Fuck.
Fuck.
I pressed a hand over my lips, my heart literally hurting itself against my chest as regret washed over me.
What the hell did I just do?
“What was that?” Cole asked, my eyes watching how his feet rotated, in search of the noise.
“What noise are you talking about? I didn't hear anything,” Leon denied.
“No, I swear I heard it. It was a lady's scream. But it disappeared really fast, but I swear I heard it,” Cole insisted, still turning around.
Lilian's POV.The atmosphere in the living room was so thick with tension that I found it difficult to breathe.Cole stormed out of the room after seeing us, and he called out parents immediately. They were already on their way home when they got the call.He didn't utter a word to us after that, he just packed his belongings and left the mansion, leaving us to face the aftermath of our actions. My mother sat on the couch, her hands clasped together while her legs shook on their own. My stepfather on the other hand just kept pacing up and down, visibly restless.Since they arrived, they'd not uttered one word, yet I'd already cried my eyes out. Regret rested on my shoulders like a heavy weight and no matter how much I sobbed, the feeling remained.Leon and I stood beside each other, the both of us occasionally exchanging glances between each other. We knew we shouldn't have explored this, but it was too late to make amends. My eyes darted over to my mother who now had tears rolling do
Lilian's POV.The day we'd finally been waiting for was finally here. Our parents were going to arrive in the evening and this was our last chance to have sex.Cole had gone bungee jumping with Nathan as he knew our parents would never permit it because it wasn't safe. Basically, all of us decided to have fun one last time before we resumed the boring life with curfews.I'd just stepped out of the bathroom and Leon was already waiting for me on the bed. His eyes raked my body as I shed myself off my bathrobe, placing my hands on my hips.I walked slowly to him, watching his gaze follow every swat like a hungry predator monitoring its prey. When I reached him, he pressed his head against my stomach, his hands resting beneath the under curve of my ass. He rubbed me softly, making the skin under there feel so hot. I spread my legs apart, preparing to straddle him but he stopped me.“Lay on the bed instead,” he said, his tone sounding sultry and thick with need.I crawled onto the bed, la
Lilian's POV.“Not now princess. Don't worry, you'll get to kiss me as much as you want. I just want you to o go through this easily,” He said softly, rubbing my waist.I had no idea why his words made my jaws clench, I pushed him away, squeezing my lips as I thought of the most appropriate words to say.“Ugh! You're so annoying. Why would you even come here if you're not going to let me kiss you. Ugh!” I snapped, my nostrils flaring.Leon's face split with amusement, like he was trying his very best not to laugh at me in this moment. My brows arched, “Oh so now I'm funny? You think I'm a clown right? I'm not even surprised.”The moment I said those words, the laughter Leon had been trying to hold tore out of him. He laughed so hard, his hand curling around his belly and his eyes watering. And then he came closer, his laughter slowly disappearing, “You have no idea how dramatic you are right now. It's rather cute to watch.”I scoffed, “you're just saying that so I don’t forhet that I'
Lilian's POV.“Now you can't talk? Come on, tell me,” Cole demanded, his eyes fixated on Leon's frame.“My bad, I didn't realize it was now a crime to stop you from teasing her,” Leon took a bite of his pizza after that, his eyes darting over to me.Cole started grumbling incoherent words, I wss trying to understand what he was on about. When he wouldn't speak up, I gave up.The atmosphere in the room suddenly grew tense after that as we ate in silence. I quickly reached for my phone, texting my girls to get myself distracted.“So no one’s going to talk about the plans for decorations? They're flying in soon, which is like two days from now,” Cole broke the silence, his voice echoing through the room.Due to my period flow, Leon and I couldn't have sex until the night before my parents arrived. That was our last chance at exploration before we finally called it quits. However, the next two days were going to be filled with preparing for my parents. I’d really been excited about her ar
Lilian's POV.His face turned pale, his eyes widening with horror, “Lilian, there's blood on the sheets.”My heart stopped for a second, “Excuse me? How's that possh–”I dropped my head to the sheets shocked to see the spot of the sheets that was damp. The metallic smell of blood wafted through my nostrils. Now, what the hell was going on here? That felt like …like period blood. But pregnant women didn't get that, did they? I questioned as I stared at the sheets.“I–Something is wrong. I don't think this is normal,” I mumbled, slowly crawling out of the bed.Leon quickly pulled on the sheets, “Don't worry, you can go have your bath. We'd figure things out when you're back. I'll take care of these.”With that, I moved to the bathroom to clean myself up. My mind swirled with a lot of thoughts as I bathed.Could it be possible that I experienced a miscarriage? I shook my head, that couldn't be. I'd heard that miscarriages were painful so there was no way I'd have felt that without experi
Lilian's POV.The thought of it made me want to jump off a cliff. I could never face them to tell them something like that.Never.“I think I should call Herald. He has to take responsibility for this,” Cole suddenly announced, rising from his feet.“No! Don't do that!” I yelled, pulling at his pants before he could leave. He glanced down at me, his profile split with confusion.“Why shouldn't I do that?”Why he shouldn't do that? That was because Herald and I had a breakup based on his infidelity. He'd been craving for a chance to get me back in his life. He'd even told me to cheat on him so we'd be even. If Cole told him that I was pregnant with “his child” he'd surely take responsibility and I couldn't afford that. I couldn't afford enduring the abuse anymore. But what would I tell Cole?Telling him who the real father of this child is was impossible. But I still needed to say something.I closed my eyes, trying to reassure myself that I could handle this as I racked my mind for a
