“Luxton!” Melissa, the house’s doctor, called us as she threaded down the stairs. Leon, Skye and I quickly arose from the couches nervously, staring at the old woman who was probably in her mid fifties.

“How is she?” The three of us asked almost at the same time.

“She’s awake now. She was injected with a silver serum, a natural poison to werewolves.” She assured us with her accustomed graceful smile. We quickly dashed up the stairs to her room and once we got there, my heart could finally beat in peace. Yet I was still breathless, struck in awe of her beauty more than ever before. Something in me kept thriving, one word, mine. Ever since I saw her in the church, that weird bond has been thumping in my chest.

“Autumn!” Skye blared.

“Skye!” Both of them ran to hug each other while Leon and I stood side by side watching them.

“I’m so sorry. For putting you through all that,” she whispered and I could tell how much guilt was haunting her.
