When Jason remained silent, Gregory's voice turned sharp. "I heard it was Natalie who cast the veto. Lorcan, have you become so incompetent that you can't even handle a woman?"

It was true that Natalie had been steadily growing stronger over the years, but Jason had never expected her to hold significant shares in so many major corporations. By the time that realization hit him, she was too deeply rooted. Trying to remove her was impossible.

"She's remarkable, isn't she?" Jason said evenly. "She's qualified to be your granddaughter-in-law, don't you think?"

His words fueled Gregory's fury. "Have you lost your mind, Lorcan? She's borne children for Ro, so why are you still hung up on a woman like her?"

A flash of ruthlessness crossed Jason's eyes. "I'm not the one who's lost my mind. She was my wife in the first place."

If not for that accident, their child would be several years old now.
