Luckily, there was still a chance now, and Jason could make things right. He would definitely be ten thousand times better than Rowan, and Natalie would surely fall in love with him again.

Jason reached out to hold her hand, but Natalie pulled away, almost instinctively.

He stiffened. The smile on his lips grew, though it carried a hint of coldness. "Natalie, we're about to get married. Can't we even hold hands?"

Natalie's expression remained unchanged, but the resistance in her eyes was as plain as day. "Does the city hall have a rule that says we must hold hands to register a marriage?"

He stared at her. "But I want to," he said, enunciating each word carefully.
