Chapter 12 Moving out.

"Three months," he repeated himself, holding up his three fingers.

I'm not sure how to react with this news but I can feel my heart leap for joy and a seed of hope begins to sprout.

Still, on my knees, I grab hold of his ankle, clinging to it like a sloth on a tree, refusing to let go under any circumstances.

"Yes, please, three months is just what I need, I couldn't ask for anything more, just please, at least let me say my goodbye to them," I tell him.

Dexter turns his face away, I can see his fist slowly clinch and he clicks his tongue instantly.

"And how can I trust you, Vida?" He says, even while he stares into the abyss I can see disappointment written over his face.

If this were to be in the past, I would think of him as a heartless monster but now, all I can think of is how to get on his good side.

Dexter looks at me with a frown on his face, and I can only avoid our eyes from meeting out of guilt.

"Why… should I trust a woman like you who's good at deceiving?"
