Chapter 24: The Ambush

Charlotte got down from the plane and walked looking around for her Dad. She sighted him waving at her. She smiled and walked towards him. As she walked, her mind drifted to Aurora. She pities the poor girl. She can't imagine her life without her Dad and she thinks Aurora is really strong. Loosing two parents like that, Aurora must be very strong.

She walked towards him and hugged him tight. "I missed you, Dad."

He hugged her back and kissed her forehead. "I missed you too. How are you?"

She shrugged. "Good. At least I'm breathing."

"Why did you say that?"

"I'm really worried about Aurora. It's like since Uncle Charles Dad, he took her happiness along."

Jerry patted her back. "That's why you are her friend. It's your job to return that happiness."

She hugged him. "Thanks, Dad."
