CHAPTER 52: FAMILY DAY 1

The blaring alarm jolted me awake, reluctantly pulling me from the coziness of sleep. With a groan, I faced the day, a strange mix of exhaustion and unexplainable excitement. Despite the crazy early hour – just past four in the morning – I hopped out of bed without bothering to change out of my boxers. Comfort was the priority as I roamed around my condo.

In the kitchen, the smell of brewing coffee and the sound of toasting bread greeted me. Maybe I'd add a bowl of Quaker oats to my makeshift breakfast later. Holding my simple meal, I made my way to the balcony, drawn by the enchanting lights of London in the pre-dawn stillness.
