"I'm not your driver, love. I am your husband, and you’re my mate. Sit in the passenger seat,” Aztec said, his voice coming out without any scorn. It was almost like he was being true to Sandra but was that really it?
Sandra just heeded what the Alpha said, without even saying another word. With them settled, Aztec drove to the event. While on their way there Sandra was hoping to smell Beatrice on Aztec, but there was nothing.
Instead, he reeked of lilies, which was still amusing to her and she couldn't help but enjoy it. It was almost like the Alpha had marked himself as hers, even if it was just for the night. Everyone would notice, but what if that was the plan itself?
At the party, everything was going as planned. Sandra welcomed the pack members and Aztec had taken over for a while. Together they looked like the power couple that would always wow the whole of the Marshall pack.
Everyone seemed to love them and if Sandra didn't know any better, she would have fallen for that. But then, there were rumors about her out there. Rumors that every wolf here was painfully aware of.
The rumors of her greed and lust for power.
Maybe that's what they saw tonight, even as Sandra told them to have fun at the party.
"Let’s enjoy the night, cheers!” Sandra had told the wolves who cheered back.
The elderly wolves were pleased with the setting and even complimented Aztec and Sandra for the good job done. Not one to take all the credit for something he didn't do, Aztec was quick to respond.
"Oh, this was the work of my amazing mate and Luna, Scarlet. She’s gorgeous and has quite the taste. I was right to have trusted her with the project,” Aztec said proudly to the werewolf council members who just agreed.
They could see that the mating of Aztec and Sandra was truly a nice fit. Oh but if only they knew what went on when they were away from the public, or even the horrors that would later on find their way into their lives.
Sandra knew this was a fantasy, hell, even Aztec was aware of that, but it was one they had to keep up with, otherwise all their hard work would be gone with the winds. He had seen that she had worked to make this day a success, and he owed her the appreciation.
"You flatter me, love,” Sandra said, as she tried to hide the blush that was slowly creeping up her cheeks.
The little things that Aztec had done for her today made her feel like she was truly meant for her, and until the party ended, she would gladly live in that fantasy. Today was just about her and her love life which everyone seemed to appreciate so much.
"Aaahh, that’s our song,” Aztec said when a familiar tune, I get to Love you, by Ruelle began playing. It was ironic, how they knew nothing about each other, and yet, everyone in the ballroom, believed that they were okay together.
Well, that was if she didn't count the wolves who were skeptical of having a human Luna, one who seemed too frail, but then they didn't know her, otherwise, they could have known that she was a fighter and she would make this happen, for her grandma.
“You two look so good together. Go on and have fun on the dance floor. May the goddess bless you both,” an elder said and Aztec smiled at him.
He was proud of today’s occurrences so far and if he could, he would announce to the world that his Luna, Scarlet Marshall had organized the party.
"Shall we, my love?”
"Yes, sure. Excuse us,” Sandra said respectfully to the elders.
The dance floor was packed with wolves and their mates, led by their Alpha and their crowned Luna. They both looked so good, but to Aztec, it seemed like nothing would be as beautiful as the woman before him.
She was stunning and like a goddess and even he couldn't deny that. The fact that her raspberry scent was slowly becoming his addiction was something else. For a man who had been against marriage, he was slowly growing slower to his replacement bride, who he wasn't even aware of.
"I smell a strong raspberry scent from you..." Aztec whispered, his husky voice making Sandra even more surprised. Even if she was unwilling to, Sandra subconsciously blushed.
Today was weird, with the Alpha complimenting her and giving her flowers. She wanted to live in this fantasy, and enjoy whatever this was. So instead of responding to Aztec, she leaned her head on his shoulder, right where she had learned that the werewolf mark would always sit.
It was a harmless nudge, but it was one that got so many reactions from the people.
Some wolves, including Sandra’s stepmother, were glad that they were getting along. Others thought this was a facade, but they had seen the Alpha's eyes turn golden, to show that he was enjoying the company of this woman.
Sure, Sandra couldn't see it, but everyone else could see it. Maybe that was also the reason Beatrice showed up to the Alpha and Sandra.
"May I have this dance with the Luna?” Beatrice asked, her voice full of respect, but she knew it wasn't for Sandra. Instead, it was respect for her boyfriend, the man who was publicly reminding her that she would never get to be his mate, like ever.
"Are you sure you wanna do this?” Aztec asked Sandra and when she nodded, he allowed her into the arms of Beatrice.
The Alpha however, wasn't going to dance away from the two, but then as the rules of the dance floor demanded, partners would be switched here and there, and inevitably, the Alpha and his Luna were separated, leaving Sandra at the mercy of the unmated obsessed girlfriend, Beatrice.
"So, you’re the wife, huh?” Beatrice said, glaring holes into Sandra who just smiled at her like this was the most expected thing at the party. Sandra had lived her life on scraps and people like Beatrice were common to her. She had grown around them and frankly, she wasn't going to do anything with this one. And so she did what she always did with them. The Marshall Luna ignored the insecure girlfriend, Beatrice. The next song came up and people were switching partners, but Beatrice decided to stay with Sandra, which once again, the Marshall Luna didn't mind, well, until this woman stepping on her feet, opened her mouth.“Scarlet! I have heard about you. You're a lazy, greedy woman, you don't deserve Alpha at all!” Beatrice said, her voice almost getting a notch higher. She knew the people around her wouldn't like it if she disrespected the Luna. She knew the customs well."You should respect yourself, sweetheart, you’re beautiful and have brains, I presume. Even if you don’t, that
"Help me, Aztec. Mark me, please!” Beatrice said to Aztec, the moment Sandra walked out of the guest room. She wasn't even bothered by how angry the Marshall Luna was, or even how sad she was that she had been pathetically disregarded. What mattered to Beatrice was that her boyfriend was here and clearly, he hadn't marked the Luna. "What? No, love, you’re not thinking straight now. If I mark you, we may both regret it, and as you well know, we both can’t afford to have scandals right now, alright?” Aztec said to Beatrice as he used one of the towels in the room to wipe off her sweat. The girl was in too much pain and he pitied her this time. "Why won’t you choose me? I'm your girlfriend, aren't I? Just because you married her doesn't mean you love her! I love you and you love me too, Aztec, so what’s stopping you?” Beatrice asked angrily, slamming her hands onto Aztec’s chest. The Alpha’s heart broke for the girl he loved but would never be able to mark. They both knew that. A
[Warning: Mentions of SA] "Aztec! Where are you?" Beatrice’s annoying shrill voice shrieked through the empty hallways, cutting short the Alpha and his Luna's unsolicited interactions. However, Aztec wasn't one to stop. Instead, given he couldn't properly bed Sandra, he decided to brutally mark her, and lay his claim on her. He didn't do it in the kindest of ways and when his fangs dipped into Sandra's unexpecting neck, the woman gave up her resolve. This was the equivalent of assault, but Aztec didn’t care about that. He wanted Sandra and he would make her his. It was his way of punishing the woman for apparently poisoning his girlfriend. "You—” Sandra tried to make out, but nothing could come from her mouth. Instead, she stared at her husband with disgust and disappointment. She had known he was toxic, but this toxic? That was unbelievable and Sandra wasn't going to forgive him this time. This man had taken so much from him. First, it was her freedom, and the love she used to
“Drink! Drink! Drink!”"I’m too drunk already,” Sandra whined out, but her colleagues insisted, and the daughter of Franzel drank, and kept drinking, to the point that she almost blacked out. However, just like everything today, she could sense that things were about to go astray. And it wasn't even going to be about her drinking like a fool anymore."Come around people, I have an announcement to make!” Noah said and Sandra sighed again. Even though she was wasted and hurt, she still was curious as to what would happen with Noah.He probably wanted to shun her in front of everyone, why else would he call for a party when he knew she had an event to deal with? They all knew how events took a toll on people, so why had he even called her when she had been suffering for two whole days on an impromptu project?"As we all know, we have an opening for the design director,” Noah began and that caught Sandra’s attention. She had worked so hard to earn that position and maybe this time, Noah w
"You are drunk. Come with me, and let's go home," Alpha Aztec said to Sandra who was just staring at him, contemplating what to make of his presence here. Was he by any chance stalking her? "Hold on, have you been following me?” Sandra asked curiously, the anger in her voice showing, thanks to her drunken state. She was pissed and she didn't want another person hovering over her. The disdain in her eyes for Aztec was clear as day and she despised him to some extent for what he had done to her. Though even then, she loved his baby blue eyes that made her feel so many things. How could a man be this perfect and still have the heart of stone with the behaviors of a barbaric idiot in the nineties? "Follow you? Nah. I have better things to do than be your babysitter. You really shouldn't expect so much from me honey,” Alpha Aztec said, not even batting an eye at Sandra’s anger. She looked cute to him and he wanted to have more of her. Maybe that made him a selfish person, but it w
"Whatever. Anyway, remember that no one can bully you except me," said the Alpha who was bemused by Sandra's response. Goddess, she was perfect. In response, Sandra just nodded quietly at Aztec, but they both knew that it wasn't a show of meekness. She didn't want to talk about the topic anymore. When they were done with breakfast, Aztec looked at Sandra. He was worried about her and wanted her to take the day off since she looked a little pale. "Hey, why don't you take the day off? You don't look too good plus I'll need you to accompany me to the airport to pick up Derek, my grandfather,” Aztec said to Sandra, and for a moment, the Marshall Luna froze. She hadn't even thought that she would be meeting anyone from the Aztec family so soon. Of course, she had heard the rumors that there was someone important to the Alpha who was coming home, but of all of them did it really have to be the grandpa? It had barely been days so, what the fuck was even happening? What if the grandpa
"I miss my home, Abu,” Derek said for the ten thousandth time and Aztec was so close to throwing his grandpa out the window. It was almost like they were ferrying a kid in a man’s body and boy was he frustrated by all his complaints about Beatrice It was like he had come back home to troll Beatrice. If only he knew. If only Derek knew what had happened already. Coming from the airport, the trio went to Derek's house, considering the old man had been whining about missing his house. It was, however, not so far from where Aztec's house was but it was also not too close. It was a beautiful mansion built in the eighties that still stood strong. It was the proof that a whole race had been forged from them. When they arrived at their grandfather's house, they found that Alpha's younger sister Raquel was waiting in the house. She was a beautiful girl in her teens but one who was clearly too intelligent, because one glance at her brother and she knew that Sandra would be the reason he
With Aztec and Sandra gone, Mary looked around her, slowly taking in the beauty of Derek’s house and the gold that it was decorated with. This house cost more than her life and she knew it, maybe that could also explain the glint in her eyes and her unmatched desire for money and wealth through Sandra’s marriage of convenience. It was a little too different from what she had expected, considering the rumors were spreading around. Sure, it wasn't Aztec’s house so it wasn't as cold as expected, but maybe Mary had hoped that the Alpha had gotten his cruelty and toxicity from his grandpa. They were polar opposites. "Hi, I’m Raquel, Aztec’s little sister,” Raquel said when she noticed the tension at the table. She knew that her brother wouldn't like it if someone dared to disrespect his wife; and from what Raquel had noticed, Mary was walking in dangerous waters. "Hello Raquel,” Doctor Franzel, Sandra’s stepfather, greeted Raquel when he noticed that his wife was still in her own
