Alexandra couldn't comprehend when she had stopped crying, the dried-up tears on her face. The portrait was securely tucked in her arms. Her eyes held nothingness, looking like a lifeless being. If one were to see this they would think of her as a corpse. A beautiful corpse.
The first rays of dawn fell upon the window pane and reflected light into the four corners of the room. But she was immovable. Sitting on the cold floor, she felt legless. She somehow got up from the floor, but it was hard to stand on her feet still, she stood because no one will catch her if she falls. She was sure if Aunt Margretta didn't find her in the bedroom she would be worried. The portrait was placed back in its placeA loud crashing of ceramic dishes resounded inside the kitchen. A young maid hurriedly picked up the broken pieces and some of the sharp edges penetrated her fingers. "I am terribly sorry about this!" The maid named Jannet cried. "It's alright, please be careful next time," Aunt Margretta comforted her, but she was in tears. What if the young miss heard of this?! She will lose her job! Her last resort! Aunt Margretta knelt down to help her pick up the broken white plates. The young made was indeed touched by the helping hand. "It's only been a few months since you joined and it's normal to make mistakes. I was in a worse state when I first came here with my mother," Aunt Margaretta comforted her. She was just a twelve-year-old girl when she had served as the maid. Margaretta and Catherine had little age difference, and they were pretty good friends. But, after that incident, Catherine began resenting everyone..
Jonathan was getting impatient as each second passed by, he was peeking at his watch every minute. He was early for the meeting today and it was about the project about the construction of the Star City Building. That wasn't the reason why he was there, he wanted to see her...And also wanted to apologise for his rudeness at the boutique, he had misunderstood her for another woman. He was indeed ashamed of his behaviour but under normal circumstances, he was a rational person who wouldn't jump to conclusions, but this woman was making his so-called rationality thrown out of the window. But one thing that annoyed him was that there were also other companies who were offering their proposals for the company. He had prepared the draft himself so there wasn't a single error related to his project. He wanted her to choose him.His heart skipped for a moment when she stepped inside the lobby. She smoothly ran her fingers through her wild rav
Jonathan looked as if he had won the lottery, he was confident that she would accept his proposal but what made him more delighted was the fact that she smiled at him. It was so charming and also heartwarmingly real."But if it's about the location we can change it!" Mr Davies cried. Alexandra gave him an unimpressed look."Your company is an overall failure, the expenses you are suggesting are high as it is, and we do not have eyes for burdens, therefore, I terminate the corporation between Blue Diamond and the Royal Steel.""But please reconsider-" He ran towards her pleading but Halton stopped him before the fool could get close to her."Meeting Adjourned" She declared. She and the rest of the members got up from their seats. They mocked Blue Diamond and its pathetic representative.Jonathan was impressed by her strategies. These kind of people are hard to come by and the confident aura made her look superior altogether, on
"Why are you so mean to him, Alexie?" Halton asked who was driving. He was genuinely feeling sad for Jonathan, the poor man he had to fall for Alexandra. She was busy munching on her CupCakes in the backseat. She swallowed and answered."I wasn't being mean I was just telling him to keep his distance from me," she said and stuffed another cake. She wasn't feeling hungry this morning but for some reason, she began craving for snacks to satisfy her sweet tooth."You went a little too overboard this time. You shouldn't have made fun of him in front of subordinates," He reasoned. His little sister now has no consequence of her actions."And you laughed like a horse on cocaine back there," She retorted."Um..ugh..that's because it was funny," He shamelessly explained himself. He shouldn't have laughed like that, he also had a burst of contagious laughter as well by which he is embarrassed to this day."You are the one who laughed at his
Jonathan leaned back on his leather chair turned to look at the view of tall skyscrapers. One building, in particular, grasped his attention, It had the symbol of a proud lion staring right into his bear. He wondered what that tigress was doing right now. She looked quite entertained by making fun of him, if it was someone else then the person would already suffering in the pits of the hellish underworld."Alexa...Alexandra..." He chanted the name like he was under a spell. "Why didnt you tell me?"He caressed a braided wristband in his hand, it had two charms attached to its cerulean fabric. It had worn out during these years but he kept it as a precious treasure. "Why don't you remember me?"He held longing in his eyes. He closed his eyes for a moment and slipped into memory lane. There was a picture of a little girl in his mind. Her eyes were as magnificent as the radiant sun. The most beautiful eyes he had ever seen. Those eyes had imprinted deep inside
"Am I too late...." He asked himself, she had told him not to be and she said she would wait but now nothing seems to work.He fiddled with the braided bracelet, thinking of a way to pursue her even if it's late because he will never give up on her. He can't give up on her because his heart won't let him. While he was pondering on a way on how to woo her his phone rang, it was his brother Jacob."Hello, big bro is it true that you like a girl and she rejected you?!" Jacob instantly blurted. Jonathan didnt want to answer this question, but he had no choice because his brother is a persistent little bastard."Yes.""Who is this lucky um... I mean unlucky woman," Jacob spoke trying not to laugh. If he did he would have to kiss goodbye to the world. His brother won't kill him, but he knew how to punish him in other ways."Alexandra Winchester," Jonathan spoke nonchalantly."
Halton kept looking at Alexandra through the rearview mirror. She was looking at the window with a frown on her face with her arms crossed. Her face looked as if it intended to kill someone. Her aura was like a knife pointed at his throat. And her amber eyes seemed to have a murderous glint like a lioness ready to strike."Did it happen again?" Halton asked."Yes," She muttered."Do you realize how scared Miss Warren was after seeing you like that?""I couldn't help it," She said that in a grunt."You know it's not real,""But it feels so real," She said. Halton saw the hidden motive behind Jonathan's gifts and why she didn't like them. Jonathan was trying to pursue her. He was regretting driving her away and now he was chasing after her."Why did you have to burn them? it's rude to burn gifts.""Roses have become a taboo for me. The devil used to bring it to me and if could I want to burn
