Steph POV

I had never been attacked by a wolf before.

It was terrifying.

Someone wanted to hurt me because I was a rogue.

It wasn’t the same as being targeted by my dad. His violence I expected, anticipated. And he just used his human form—a heavy hand, and that was it.

But I’d never been chased by a wolf—twice my size with gnashing teeth and curved claws, a great beast of muscle and fur capable of tearing my head off just because of a brand on my forehead.

Somehow, I’d defended myself long enough for Tyler to come to my rescue.

He barreled into his friend—Kellen, his future Beta, I would learn only a minute or two later—and rolled him into the thorn-laden bushes. I flinched at his yelp as I retreated as far as I could, daring to shift back to my human form only after I was sure he wouldn’t attack again.

And then I listened to them talk about my fate like I wasn’t standing ten feet away. Tyler told his future Beta that I was his mate.

Kellen looked at me. “And you’re sure?”

  • Rogue Mate of the Alpha   Hidden in Plain Sight

Steph POV“You are not a burden, Steph! You are my choice!”The words carved into my heart, soul, and mind, where they would remain until the end of my days.Ever since I was branded, ever since my mother left and my father turned to vices, I had never felt like enough. Never good enough. Never smart enough. Never worthy enough of time or attention or good things. Ever since then, I was a burden… to myself as much as my father, newly widowed, raising a six-year-old on his own. But I was a quiet child. I never acted out, never cried… just behaved, an isolated and scarred little girl.I became an adult, but I was still isolated and scarred, and too poor to afford therapy. But no therapist needed to tell me just how relentlessly self-blaming I was.I could hear them now. “You’re thoroughly fucked up, Miss Channer. That’ll be three thousand dollars. We accept most credit cards.”Not good enough, a burden… and no one’s choice. Hell, the first time I was last-picked at school dodgeball, I

  • Rogue Mate of the Alpha   Council Threats

Tyler POVA few days ago, I thought I’d be hanging around with my devil-may-care buddies, flirting up flings, knocking back beers at Howlers, and avoiding responsibilities of learning to be a good—no, a great—Alpha. I was the golden son and heir with a bad-boy streak. I was looked up to for my loyalty despite my flaws. I was dedicated solely to Crescent Ridge, no questions asked.Never in a million years would my spoiled, entitled ass think I would even chat to a rogue. Much less defend one. Much less find a mate in the same one.But I hadn’t hesitated to stand up for her—to stand up to my father. A betrayal of the century! Fodder for the gossiping women of the pack to prattle on about for decades to come! A Rogers heir going against everything instilled in his forefathers, going back further than anyone could count—turning his back on all right-minded opinions, facts, and truths.Yada, yada.It was all just fucked-up grooming and conditioning. And I believed it all… until I met Step

  • Rogue Mate of the Alpha   Eyes of the Flame

Steph POVThe poison made me see visions. My mind, my body, and my wolf weren’t mine anymore. I was a prisoner—my soul was a prisoner to the wolfsbane. I could feel its slimy, cold tendrils coursing through my veins. I felt it pummel my muscles and nettle my bones like it was some living thing hellbent on breaking me down from within. It was odd, like an out-of-body experience, but still in my body. I could visualize it all—the color, the spread, even the feeling of watching it encompass me—even though I couldn’t actually see any of that.It was like a dream, a nightmare, and reality all rolled into one paralyzing experience. All because of some jealous ex-girlfriend.Add that to the list of things making my life miserable.I don’t know how long it lasted. It could have been minutes. It could have been hours. It could have been days.Time didn’t matter to poison. Nothing mattered to poison as long as it did its job—destroy. Kill.Wolfsbane wasn’t deadly unless ingested—but if left unt

  • Rogue Mate of the Alpha   Poisoned Intentions

Tyler POVMy mate was burning up in my arms.Poisoned. Stephanie was poisoned by wolfsbane. And I was losing my goddess damned mind in panic.“Get the fucking healer!” I roared at Kellen. My voice boomed into my apartment, which felt hollow and useless as I held Stephanie in my arms at the threshold. My future Beta practically leaped over me to run to his car.The hardwood floor dug into my knees where I knelt, but it didn’t fucking matter.Only she did. My mate. Her body was trembling, slack, her eyelids fluttering. She was breathing, but in panting bursts. Her heart was pounding erratically. Sweat beaded at her temples, dampening her hair. I stared at her rogue mark, that ugly raised scar tissue, furiously wondering how my father and his Council could see that as a threat.Stephanie Channer was not a threat. She was not a bad omen. She was a scared young woman just trying to get through the day.And she was my mate. I held her against me, convinced I would lose her right then and t

  • Rogue Mate of the Alpha   Liliana Returns

Steph POVTen minutes later, I was sitting in the backseat of Tyler’s sedan with him, with Kellen in the driver’s seat, wondering how I went from a down-on-her-luck waitress to the Alpha’s chopping block—all because of a stupid R on my forehead.Shiloh took an Uber home, graciously paid for by Tyler, even though she had to be shoved in, practically kicking and biting to stay with me. But there was no way any Crescent Ridge wolf would want a human on the premises, especially one who knew of their secret existence. That would only put her in danger. She hugged me fiercely before getting in, kissing my cheek. “It’ll be fine, Steph. You’ve survived so much.”My throat tightened, and before I could not confess one of my deepest secrets, I whispered, “But I’m tired of surviving.”The words struck my three companions like a lightning bolt. They all stared at me, shocked and pained at the sudden outburst. I almost lost it right then and there.“Sorry,” I said quickly.“Don’t apologize,” Shilo

  • Rogue Mate of the Alpha   A Tether Forming

Steph POVShiloh and I followed Kellen into the apartment building. I didn’t care to clock where we were exactly or what the pretty complex was called. I did notice Shiloh hoisting a large bag over her shoulder.I offered to carry it up the stairs, but she just swatted me away. “You’ve gone through hell, wolf girl. Let me take care of you.”“I don’t deserve you, Shi,” I said, getting choked up as Kellen stopped on the third floor to unlock the door.“Of course you do,” she proclaimed, flouncing in first, then proclaiming even louder, “Holy wolfy shit! I’m totally stealing something to fund my houseplant collection!”To my surprise, Kellen chuckled, even though it was half exasperation. “We’re so fucked if she blabs.”Defensiveness bubbled in my chest. “She won’t.”Kellen raised a brow. “You probably also thought you’d never find a mate in the future Alpha.”That shut me up real fast. Kellen sensed it immediately and sighed, his golden eyes losing their edge.“Sorry, Stephanie. It’s ju
