Theron’s Lycan stirred to the surface as he clutched the clothing so tightly that his knuckles turned white.

Flashes of how her presence had nearly made his Lycan lose control tightened his chest.

How her scent stirred something in him.

How he couldn't sleep that night they shared the same room.

She... She had been the one he claimed in that cave?

A door cracked open somewhere behind him. Luna Maren’s voice pierced the fog in his head.

“Have you done what—”

She froze at the sight of him. Her face paled like that of the dead.

“My Lord?”

“Is this true?” Theron could barely recognize his own voice. For the first time, it trembled. His chest heaved as though he had just been stabbed violently.

“This dress,” he said, almost in a whisper. “Was it truly hers?”

Maren staggered as if she had been struck by lightning. Her throat bobbed, and her face turned even paler.

“I… I have no idea what you are talking about.”

Theron’s pupils dilated. Heat started in the center of his chest and flooded upward to his throat and face, making his ears burn.

He took slow steps toward Luna Maren. The edges of his vision blurred as he fixed a predatory gaze on her.

“I. Dare. You..." he swallowed her space. "...To say that again.”

Maren's lips trembled.

“My Lord, please—”

“Inside.”

His voice left no room for argument.

Moments later, Maren was on her knees before him, tears streaming down her face.

He did his best to keep his Lycan at bay, for all it wanted was to rip the woman to shreds.

“Moon Veil Spell.”

The words echoed like poison on his tongue. The tasted like ashes that made his throat tight.

He almost laughed at the absurdity as the pieces finally came together.

So this was it.

This was why Eryndra fucking Tarianne had been avoiding him throughout their journey.

Why her wolf had been restless.

Why his own beast had reacted so violently to her.

It had been her this whole time.

'My mate?'

“You. Ingrate.” He bit out the words with rage. “Not only did you lie to the Crown, but you also cast a spell to deceive me.”

Maren jolted with each sob.

“Please, my Lord. I was only doing what was best for her. I had no idea it would turn out like this. I had no idea it was you.”

But Eryndra had known.

She had recognized him.

And yet…

Theron’s eyes turned the deepest shade of gold.

“What else is she hiding?” he asked.

The female swallowed in terror.

“What is her origin? Surely you adopted and raised her as your own. I’ll let that part slide. But you need to tell me where she really came from. I want to know every bit of her. Who were her real parents?”

Maren grew paler, as though she might pass out at any moment.

“She’s part of Dor, my lord.”

Silence.

Hard, heavy silence.

The kind where even breathing felt like a crime.

Theron rose from his chair, making the female shrink against the floor. He was very much aware of what his expression was capable of—the kind of danger it emitted and the effect it had on its target.

He crouched, locking a death stare onto her.

“I shall tell you one thing about myself, woman.” His voice was low, each word dripping with venom. “When my beast is at the edge like this, lying to my face is one of the most terrifying affronts—one worthy of a gruesome doom.”

Maren’s lips trembled.

“I will go out there and drag your son. The pack’s heir, to be precise, to the Citadel. I’ll make him a slave and work him until every bone in his body gives out. Then I’ll cut his skin, bit by bit, and force him to eat it. And when he dies, his head will be hung on a spike as a disgrace to the realm, leading to the downfall of this pack.”

Luna Maren looked as though her soul had just left her body as she absorbed his threat.

He. Meant. Every. Word.

“Now, let’s try this again, shall we?”

He gripped her chin, forcing her gaze to meet his.

“Tell me every single fucking thing about Eryndra Tarianne.”

~~~~~
Theron rode his horse through the forest, the wind harsh against his skin, blowing his long, tied hair behind him.
He rode back to the Citadel at a mad speed, taking the dangerous shortcut through the forest.
His head reeled, and his body burned with Maren’s words. His jaw clenched, his eyes reddened with insane anger.
Eryndra.
That fucking deceiver.
He had to reach the palace before the ceremony. He had to tell the prince exactly what kind of snake had sneaked into the palace.
There was still time.
He would get there and drag her out before the ceremony tomorrow.
Suddenly, the air turned chilly.
Consumed by his anger, Theron noticed it too late.
An arrow struck his chest, sending him flying off his horse. His back slammed against a large tree with enough force to make his spine crack.
With a groan, he glanced down at the poisoned arrow and ripped it from his chest before the deadly toxin could spread further.
He scanned the surrounding trees but couldn't see who had shot him.
His spine snapped back into place as he staggered to his feet, his knees weak, his stomach twisted, and his vision blurred.
The poison was already turning the blood around the wound purple.
This wasn't a random attack.
Could that wretch Eryndra be behind this?
Theron struggled to breath as darkness started clouding his vision...
    {DREAD SECTOR}The wail had stopped again.For a little while now, the female had stopped screaming.Two soldiers stood outside the solid door, restless since the beginning of the night.“Is she dead?” one of them whispered.“Again. No one cares,” the one with the helmet harshly whispered.Silence settled between them briefly.“I’m just wondering…”“Shut up, Olive,” the third one snapped, his voice trembling at the surface.“It’s affecting you too,” Olive shifted his gaze to him. “Her heat… it’s getting too thick for me to bear.”“What would you have us do? Go in there and fuck her?”Olive shrugged. “That bitch is the reason we’re stuck here all night. I was supposed to be with a whore I spent a lot on, and she ruined everything by challenging the prince. What sane wolf would challenge the fucking prince, Pete?”“You need to watch that mouth of yours,” Pete warned.Olive scoffed and looked forward again.“You know I’m damn right,” he mumbled.“If the Prince catches us, we could get ki
    With effort, Zarin finally reached Jerik’s chamber. Each step had been hell because of his broken ankle.However, his breath seized at the sight before him.Jerik lay unconscious on the floor, his skin pale as a corpse, blood on his lips, with green veins spreading rapidly across his body.“My Lord… No, no, no, no.” He rushed to his side, turning him over.“Jerik.” His voice cracked, tears immediately filling his eyes.This was the poison missing from the alchemy chamber.Why Jerik of all people?“Please don’t die, Jerik… please stay alive.”His fingers trembled as he checked for a pulse.It was barely there. He didn’t have much time left.Zarin burst out the door but collapsed again. His ankle had swollen even more, now too painful to use. His medicine had run out, and in his current condition, he wouldn’t be able to reach the antidote quickly.He was the only one who knew where to get it.Time was ticking fast, and Jerik’s life hung on a thin thread.Zarin had only one resolution.A
    “He refused to tell where she is?” Zarin panicked.“This is all my fault,” Jerik swept his hair back in frustration. “I should have known Kallias wouldn’t take it well.”“I should send a letter beyond the borders,” Zarin said.“Theron won’t make it here fast enough. He is at war. I’ve already sent my trusted soldiers to search for Eryndra. Whatever Kallias is doing to her, we’ll put a stop to it. I don’t care if it costs me my life.”Zarin nodded. “I should get going. I should be able to find her with my magic.”Once the door shut, Jerik gripped his hair tighter. This was messed up.If only Theron was here to stop the prince.He took another bottle of suppressant. Unlike werewolves who needed only one bottle to calm their beast, Lycans required at least three.Once he took it, he changed into darker clothing.Feeling his throat itchy, he took some water and continued strapping his armor.He coughed when the itch returned.“Urgh,” he groaned and drank more water, but it didn’t stop.He
    This was hell.This was true hell.Eryndra’s scream was muffled as Da’Giant shoved his cock in.Her breath seized. The world blurred, and his stomach churned violently.She tasted salt.“What a tiny little mouth you have there. Guess you haven't sucked a male’s cock before?”Eryndra shivered as the thick length destroyed her dignity, moving relentlessly and hitting the back of her throat.Da'Gaint groaned above her, fist tightening on her hair. Eryndra let her mind go blank, blocking out the voices, the grunts, Kallias’s sick words, and how she felt.Gia circled around her heart, whimpering from the humiliation.Soon, it was done.Eryndra collapsed as Da'Gaint withdrew, barely feeling her jaw or anything around her. Broken sobs wrecked her body as her fists clenched tight until her knuckles cracked.Nothing had ever hurt this much.It was like a big part of her had been torn wide open.It was far worse than being whipped.A hand reached down and pulled her up by the hair.Kallias’s g
    There were a few times Eryndra had come slightly close to being choked to death.Her father had choked her more than once when her sister and mother weren’t around, furious at every little thing she did.It was nothing new. Now it was the prince.What was the worst he could do if she stood firm on her lie?After all… a far greater punishment awaits if she truly speaks the name he wanted to hear.“No one… Your Highness.”His jaw clenched at her response. He didn't say anything for a moment, only staring straight at her soul as if waiting for a crack.“No one?” He scoffed. “And yet you manipulated me just to help him?”Okay, hold on… who is he talking about?Wait… Jerik?He thought she was thinking about Jerik?“Kallias, you have it all wrong… I wasn’t thinking about—”“You could have asked for anything! Anything at all! Yet you wasted that on Aeris’s son? Just what are you plotting with him? Or are you sleeping with his father?”Eryndra’s face contorted in distaste. “I would never! I
    ERYNDRA "Dinner stretched longer than usual?"Eryndra almost flinched at Kayara’s voice as she stepped into her chamber."You scared me. I didn’t expect you to be here." In truth, she had been avoiding Kayara, pretending to be busy elsewhere."I couldn’t find the prince. I was hoping to thank him for Jerik’s sake," she explained."You helped him convince the prince. That is great.""Yes," Eryndra sat beside her. "Jerik told me everything that happened to the Grand Queen. Including about Lady Lyria."Concern flashed in Kayara’s eyes."You shouldn’t talk about Lyria to the prince. It’s a sensitive topic for him and Ash.""Hm. I know and I feel for them. Lyria must have been a great person. What really happened to her? How… did the rogues…""That is not my story to tell. In my opinion, you might not want to hear it."Eryndra wasn’t surprised. Kayara wouldn’t tell her. She might have to get Jerik to do it again.They couldn’t finish the conversation that night."Today is the full moon. I
